I was at the mall one day, and there were 2 dogs inside a pickup truck....windows closed, no air on...and it was about 95 degrees..... some guys walked up with a flashlight in one hand and a cell phone in another.... he smashed both side windows and called the police..... he told them that he broke the windows and that the owner can press charges...... AFTER he presses animal cruelty charges!!!! I don't know what ever happened...but normally those things are posted in the police blog in the paper, but nothing was ever said.

Let him know he's got a fan!

I still need to work up my trip report. I did run into another LGMH connoisseur, PlutosPup (sp?) at the RnRC in MGM. He recognized my LGMH I had attached to my backpack. I saw a few familes in
LIME GREEN t-shirts but, alas, no other DISers.

Oh lordy tell me about that one! I can't take meds without eating .. I end up not taking them .... OOPS big time mistake eh? Plus trying to catch up on these posts (I am actually at page 619 but needed to find the last page # so i know where to start in am is scewing up sleep patterns. Oh my if doc knew what i was doing she would freak.

As for the idiot that left the dog in the car.. If I couldn't get the dog out (and yes, I would have tried).. I would have told Mr. Idiot that the police were already called.

I had an incident once where I found 3 young children all under the age of 4, in a parking lot of the post office in E'Stroudsburg. Windows half opened, the girls (all 3 ) half dressed, crying and jumping around the car.. except for the youngest in a car seat.
Now, I had just left the PO, and from that parking lot there's no place else you could be but inside the PO. I was on line for about 15-20 minutes (a long time for this area).. and I couldn't believe someone left these children for any amount of time at all.. nevermind that long! My dd (then 7) was with me, holding my hand as she required to do anywhere outdoors (other than a park or something like that. Now come on, I'm not THAT over-protective). She STILL comes with me inside a gas station if I have to go in and pay (she's now 9). I will not leave her in the car alone for any amount of time. So you can imagine how FURIOUS I was.
Of course I was on the phone with the police explaining the situation and telling them where I am when the mother-of-the-year comes out strolling like she doesn't have 3 crying kids in the car. Well I went off on her! She said she didn't think it would be so crowded! AHHHH... is she kidding!?? I was actually in tears I was so angry. I didn't shout at her, though I really may have if my dd and her kids weren't right there.
Let me also explain that the parking lot of the PO is along side of the building, with no side entrance. It's in town on a very busy street. It's a large building, there is no view of the parking lot from inside the building at all.. no windows on the side or anything.
She left very quickly, not getting her other 2 girls buckled in or even seated! She knew I was on the phone with the police and wanted to get out of there.
When I got back to the dispatcher on the phone she asked if I'd gotten the license #, and I was so mad, I didn't think to do that. Very stupid of me. The dispatcher was really nice and said she would have been that angry too...

The rant didn't help.. I'm still angry, even after 2 years. Grrrr!

Bravo to you for speaking up! Glad to know someone was watching out for her kids!

Ok, let me try. They hand shake is a secret. DisUnc, who is one of the regulars and one of the "offical" leaders on this board knows it and will teach you it when you reach 500 posts.

LizzY was the leader while DisUnc was in the world. Since I haven't caught up, not sure the reigns have changed hands yet. LizzY is Pixie Dust 112 DD and Nsalz's neice.

Cyn, or Cyndrella is also one of the "official" leaders. Her hubby works at DL and they just made their first trip to DW. She should be posting again soon.

I have been reading this thread since day 1, but never had the nerve to post- I didn't think I was "green" enough. I only have about 50 lgmhpc, and my DH and DD15 will not "do" lime. Luckily, DD 10 is all for it, so look for the lime at POP 8/16-23. We'll have the window decorated and will have a strand of lgmhpc hanging on the door w/a marker to sign your name and hometown.
There will be other colored mhpc, mainly blue and gold- school colors, but my heart will always be lime.

Update on Cody:

Had a pretty good day. Lots of food to be had. Drank 2 tofu/peanut butter/carnation/soy milk smoothies. Actually ate some solid food also.
He did get tuckered out by 12:00 and have to nap. They were going to try and get him on a little walk tonight before bedtime.

Found him some lime green coban. He is really struggling with his incision and doesn't want anyone to see it. Thought I would put a piece of gauze on it and then put some coban to hold it. can't bear to put another piece of tape on him. It is going to take me a month to scrub off all the adhesive remnants he has. He is still pretty mad at me for taking him to the hospital and letting the doc operate. Hoping a surprise trip to wdw will help him to forgive me.
I'm hoping that he has 2 good days in a row then I'll start thinking that we are making progress. Been psyched out before by this kiddo.

I really enjoyed getting back in the Dis mode while skimming. I took my Disney books to the hospital but couldn't bear to open them. Felt like it might bring bad Karma or something to us. I'm starting to get excited again about our trip. I might even start working on getting ready in another couple of weeks if things continue. Right now we are just trying to get him some strength back so that he can have some remains of a summer. He is still scheduled to do a couple of camps and I have a birthday party to plan for him. So have to put the disney planning on the back burner for a few weeks but hopefully that is all.


Things I have learned about my son:

1. He will not be a cat person
2. He will not make beer money in college by selling plasma
3. He will not complain about any illness, ache or pain for fear of mom the nurse jumping into action
4. Trauma life in the ER will have a new level of interest for him
5. Add scar and hospital jewelry to big brown eyes and long eyelashes and you get lots of freebies.
6. Last I'm so proud of his ability to endure a difficult experience with grace and courage even though he was scared to death and never has had any experience with challenges.


so please all go and give an extra hug and I love you to your kiddos even though they sometimes drive us mad.
