I had two dog incidences today, both left me scratching my head...about the owners not the dogs..
Incident #1.. went into eyeglass place to pick up DS6's glasses...on the way in, DS8 says, "Mommy, there's a dog in that car." Yep, 97 degree heat, sun burning bright, windows rolled up, little doggie barking and jumping around..(I should interject here that I am known for being mouthy...If you toss a straw wrapper out of your window at Mickey D's, I'm gonna tell you that you dropped something..If you don't pick it up and look embarrassed, I'm gonna tell you that's awful...If I see you walking your dog around the very nice lake area in our neighborhood, and he does his business, and you don't pick it up....I'm gonna ask you why you didn't clean up after your dog....anyway..you get the picture.)
so back to incident #1....I go inside the eyeglass place and announce to the roomful of people who are waiting for an appointment, "does that white car out there with the dog inside belong to anyone in here?" A REALLY BIG guy at the counter said, "yeah, that's mine..." I proceeded to tell him that his dog was going to die, It's probably over a hundred degrees in there..("I left the sunroof open."..Idiot....the only window that lets the sun directly beat in on the poor critter...oy....) I explain that dogs don't cool off the same as humans, and it was definitely too hot in there, and if that dog wasn't out of that car in 10 minutes, I was calling the police...I also told him, why didn't he go sit in that car for awhile in the heat and see how he liked it.....anyway, he remained calm, basically ignored my unsolicited advice, and thankfully was gone in just a little over 10 minutes...
Incident #2....I was in the produce section of Publix grocery store tonight and was shocked to see a little dog in a very large ladies purse in her shopping cart... (once again, big mouth.."shut up Linda, shut up Linda..I can't, I can't...") I said to the owner, " Wow..I didn't know that you could bring a dog into a grocery store!"(that was a lie...I KNOW that you can't bring a dog into a grocery store) and she said, "I don't know, maybe you should ask the manager!!" OK, she got me, I was floored..and wanted to tattle, but I didn't...I did tell the cashier at the front while I checked out, but I am sure that he didn't tell anyone else...
OK, I feel better, as I always do when I unburden to you all..
thanks.....![]()
#1 Call 911 or bust the windows
#2 tell the Manager (as if he didnt know)
