It always makes me laugh too! One of my old students was from California (Close your ears Cyn.....ah, eyes that it....) He used to always say DUDE (and CHIEF, and many others!) I always laughed at him and thought "how California"..... before I knew it the whole lab was saying it - even me!
Now, I just have to take up surfing and Im ready to visit Cyn! (I am a mean BODY surfer - dont think that counts!)

I those California words. "Chief" always cracks me up, but I do say "dude" frequently, usually in a mocking sort of way. Heh. I bet your old student also said "Bro!" and "stoked" and maybe "gnarly"

Actually, body surfing does count here in CA. I do that a lot better than board surfing myself.

There are these Lime green paint sample cards, that can ONLY be found at Home Depot. You get one of these and cut it out to Mickey ears. Write your Dis name in it. Place it on your door and/or your backpack.

This way we can identify each other. Once you have more post, you will be introduced to the "secret Disboards handshake"! WooHOO thats when the real PARTY BEGINS!

Amen to that one! I have a 17 yr old in this household. Never seems to matter when she stops being on MSN she then heads up to her room and when I can drag myself away from these boards (sometimes as late as 2) I find her sound alseep clutching the remote

Yesterday she surfaced at 1 p.m. September is gonna be a rude awakening for all of us.

Our rude awakening is going to be next week when we have to adjust our schedule by 3 hours for FL time. I have been trying to get my kids to bed progressively earlier each night, but am only having even marginal success with my 7 year old. My 16 yo is resistant and so I know he's going to experience jetlag extraordinaire. I keep trying to tell him: "Waking up at 6:00 am to get to the parks is going to be exactly the same as waking up at 3:00 am here...EVERY DAY FOR A WEEK. You should get used to it now." He thinks that "sleeping on the plane" is going to be enough to fix the problem. He's going to be one tired boy! Oh, well, NO REST FOR THE WEARY, SKIPPY! Better start liking coffee!

I think its that we wont have time, and we planned on staying at the parks late, and maybe even extra magic hours etc. and after dinner, I thought we should, and normally do have time to do meets and stuff, but now we have a first timer with us, and so we wont be skipping anything. Therefore, no meet. She said Maybe to the 2008 meet though!!!!! That will give me soemthing to look forward to!

Cyn - what happened to your toe??? hope you didn't get an injury right before your trip!!!

Youngest DS was in the ER once @ 2:00 a.m. before we left before a vacation the next day (infected splinter went to blood poisioning is a few hours!). Luckily, he was small enough to haul around in a wagon for a few days until he was allowed to put weight on foot again.

I DID IT!!! i finally got them! I was able to put my duties aside and go for the important stuff... LGMHPC!!! So here is how it went..
I walked in with my head up high looking for the paint dept. I find it but i see 3 HD CM's

I make a quick turn to try to find the stuff i'm actually going to buy. I find the empty paint cans and grab two. I walk back to the paint chips

and i see one HD CM on the computer. So i start looking at other colors

and i make my way to disney's paint. I pick up an idea book and i start looking for the alien green

I CANT FIND IT AHHHH.... then there they are!! I am way too tall to see them but they were there I grabed them ALL and i ran

I thought for sure they saw me. i was sweating bullets! I finally got to the check out, payed for my empty paint cans and got to my car safely

. I call DH and told him i had them. He said the usual ( ) and then i left. Got home and told him i only found 17 He told me "We have to get more" i totally this man!

Yippppeeeee!!!!! He is a keeper!!!!
