I play 1st mostly, but 3rd or catcher(groan) if they need me there. I don't play for my school team, but I play for my little league, and my dad is my coach(groan). My season wasn't that bad, but it was a weird year 'cause we combined with anothe league, and still only had 13 girls. But it was also the best season ever because I had a blast. the best game was when they bumped me up to the senior girls team because they needed players. WE still only had six, so I covered 1st and 2nd. The really cool part was that even with only 6 we still won! I can't pitch to save my life so more power to your DD!

Yeah for you and your team1 :cheer2:

DH coaches DD's team and she loved having daddy coach...she is only 7.

This year, did you play to have fun or to win? That mentality has a lot to do with how you feel about the games/season. DD's team played to win and it wasn't that great of a season...not enough fun. Since he was doing well at bat and on the field (and his friends were playing too) that really helped the outcome of the season.
:thumbsup2

A regimen of ibuprofen it is, then. I kind of hadn't gotten to that yet, so I'm glad you reminded me. I have the toe taped to the one next to it and am icing off and on every 20 minutes. Told the kids they're going to have to take care of themselves tonight. The bummer is when I need something upstairs. I have to HOP all that way.
sigh.gif
I just wanna walk next week!

Just take it easy - glad you taped it. (The ibuprophen tip came from my EXCELLENT pain doctor, at Duke University, when I`used to work there and had my first back surgery there.... had gave me alot of good advice. I've lived by it ever since...) Elevated and relxed..... you'll have to stay on the boards more!!!!!

See, it just goes to show all that EARLY organizing was all for the best! Now you can give that foot the rest it needs! :goodvibes

Well, darn it, that's no fun. After some ice and elevation, try taping it to your "pointer" toe to help immobilize it. Maybe you could cover the medical tape with some of my LG tape from HD. Hope you feel better soon.
LG duct tape! If I could hobble into HD, I'd get some! That would be a true identifier...even DISers not familiar with this thread would know instantly that I am of the DIS. Haha. I'd almost do it just for the reaction it'd get from my hubby. :rotfl:

I hope you didn't do it because you were :furious: with your son. My mom broke her foot kicking a dumbbell that my brother had left out in the middle of his room, and her hand when she went to smack my other brother's foot off the coffee table. She said her 2 boys were twice as hard to raise as her 4 girls.
No, he wasn't even home. I went in to print something (the printer resides in his room) and just kicked it out of pure clumsiness. I guess I was moving a lot faster than I thought I was because I hit it pretty hard. Not that my DS doesn't make me that mad sometimes, though! (Ow, a dumbbell?)

We played for both. Our basic philosophy was "It's great if we win, but how is ti going to affect our lives if we don't" WE had a blast every game!

Aw, that stinks. I know how it feels to have to sacrifice a vacation, and you must have been very disapoointed to have to tell the kids. I hope you can swing a trip the next year.

We tell our wrestlers to focus in a situation like this. Remember where you're going, focus on the fun, focus on the food, and in no time at all the pain will be gone. If that won't work try this pixiedust:
Yeah, I'm not going to let a little hurt toe ruin my vacation! I will focus on fun, food, and healing my toe before we go! :sunny:

sewer, did I ever mention that my dad and brothers all wrestled? I know the wrestling culture well!

That sounds like it should have come from Pixiedust not Lizzyswan

Cyn,
Do you have to go to work anymore this week or next? Have you told your dh yet? If so what did he say?

Hope dh & the kids will help you out some. Glad you were able to tape it up.
Yeah, I have to work the next three days (and am dreading walk from the parking lot and the unavoidable stairs)and then I am off for 2.5 weeks. My DH didn't say much, heh. What could he say? Just "Bummer" and other commiseratory phrases. I think he figures 8 days is a long ways away and I'll be fine by then - and he could be right. It feels better after being off it awhile, but I know I have to keep taking care of it until we go or it won't feel better at all.

But I want to be up fussing with things and getting ready!! I don't want to lie down right now! I have no papers to grade until Wednesday evening, and I need to be cleaning my house! Packing my toiletries bag! Sorting outfits into plastic baggies! Crossing things off my (thankfully ever dwindling) list!

Relaxing is all very well and good when there isn't a WDW vacation to get ready for!

Wah, this means I will STILL not get on my treadmill any time this week. ^%$#!!#$#&#!!!!! :furious:

Hello Everyone!

We got back Saturday night (ok, Sunday morning)...

BUT...
Cynd!! You broke your toe?? NO! I'm so sorry that happened so close to your trip. Ummm.. I'm sorry it happened at all of course, but soooo close to your trip!
If you can, maybe you should get a prescription from your doctor for something stronger than just ibuprofin. Just in case. There is such an incredible amount of walking in the land... I would usually have problems without a broken toe! Of course this year I wore my crocs and I had no such problems (I'm going to contact Mr. Croc to thank him myself and beg to become the croc poster child... err, older (much) child.
You may find yourself very sore midday, or even at night making it hard for you to get needed sleep for the next day's walking. Having something strong might be helpful.

If things get really bad you can let it be known to all that you are THE "Lime Green Queen".. and all will come and carry you on a throne. I know you are normally against this kind of behaviour and rather be treated as we all are, but with a broken toe, you might have to give in just this once.

As for our trip.. it was mostly perfect! We had a problem with WL (I will be emailing Disney, apparently the ONLY way to complain)... and I 'lost' my wallet on the way to the airport returning home. That panicked me a bit... but it worked out. No money in it at all, just a couple of credit cards, my license (a quick trip to the DMV to replace it) aps for Disney & Sea World.. and my AAA card. Had to cancel everything, which was a little hassle, but I wasn't going to let it ruin the great vacation that we had. I'm actually having quite a time contacting someone at Disney who knows what to do. I'd finally been given an email address that was supposed to be THE thing to do.. and it doesn't work. It's a simple one and I'm sure all the spelling is correct. Anyway... if anyone can give me info on how to contact someone that could help me I'd appreciate it.

AKL was absolutely incredible as usual. We had a perfect arusha savanah view. The parks were great. A bit crowed, but utililzed the FPs well enough so we didn't wait much anywhere. Got to do Everest many times! I don't like coasters, but this was really nice (even though I screamed for my mommy  )

We met two different people from here. One was LuvChefMic .... we got to meet for the day at Epcot and had a really nice time. She got my daughter into Figment, whom I'd never heard of until that day. We are now proud owners of one small magnetic pawed figment, and 3 larger figments in different costumes (one as a skunk). Thank you Ruthie:)
We tried, but couldn't coordinate another meeting with her before she left :(

And, we shared a beautiful Wishes cruise with Steery1, his DW and DD, and with another very nice couple. They were leaving the next day to go back to Scotland. Hope they had a safe trip home.

As for any LGMHPCs... not a one!! NONE.. NADDA! How could that be???
I had mine on my baggallini. First few days it kept falling off, but I finally got it to stay on. I wasn't TOO lime green.. but you could see it if you looked... and I was looking.. and DD was looking... but nothing. Sigh!

I'm not much on doing trip reports.. look how long it took me just to post that I'm back. I might though.. or just ramble on here and there. I ramble well.

I can't possibly read everything you guys wrote the 17 days I've been gone, 5000+++ posts!!! If anyone has the cliff notes I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to all who have joined....

Glad to be back and sorry to be gone!

So if anyone is wondering why you can't find any LGMH's in Nashville, Murfreesboro, or Jackson, Tennessee... it's all thanks to us!!! :thumbsup2

We just got back on the 17th and not one LGMHPC either. Although, I was tempted to go up to anyone even having lime green on and ask if the were a Diser, but my dh held me back! I just wanted to meet one person so I could say I did :confused3 I believe I have joined since you have left.....So welcome back!!!
