 I feel for ya, Cyn. DH just became a prof. here at SCAD last year. He was burned out from 20 years in corporate advertising, 80 hour work weeks, lots of BS...he thought teaching would be easier...I guess it is, but not as much as we both thought. He is still putting in 60hr+ work weeks, still some BS..Of course not nearly as bad as before...and at only a 60% salary decrease.. This was one of those quality of life decisions I had heard of people making, and I'm glad we did it. Probably after a couple of years he won't have as much work.. :confused3

Hats off to educators!! (Cyn, do ya have a "hat's off" smiley?)

Congrats to your dh on making such a big change. :cheer2: Like your picture, you have such handsome little men.

LOL, I think one of my first few posts on these boards had to do with whether alcohol could be brought to the pools in one's own cooler, and also I either did post, or thought about posting, a question about whether alcohol could be transported on the airplane (though that might have been with my first login name). Ok, I know I have listed a bunch of reasons why we decided on OKW, but aside from the coffee, huge jacuzzi tub, and large balcony, the existence of a blender in the kitchen (for margaritas

) was right up there in the top five!! (Subscribing to that thread as we speak) :teeth:

We found the coolest misting fans ever this year... I heard about them here on the boards, but I can't remember where. We also bought them at Wal-Mart, however they are no where NEAR as big as those "other" ones. In fact they have a clip so that you can clip them to a belt loop or whatever. They are about the same size as a computer mouse and have a spot to fill with water, with a foam fan and misting trigger. Wala! We used them around here first to see how well they worked and I am soooo pleased with them. Seriously going to downsize what goes into the parks with us. They are called O2 Cool, Carabiner Misting Fans... and guess what, I got mine in Lime Green! :thumbsup2
What section are these in? In all the times I have been to Wal-mart, the only mister fans I have seen are the spray bottle type that they have hundreds of in a big bin in the middle of the back aisle. I looked all over today (didn't ask any Wal-mart CMs, but they usually give the duh-I-don't-know look to that kind of question anyway) and didn't see any other kind! Guide me!

I also have a syllabus and schedule to finish and send to the printer's, a course web site to set up, and a department letter to write, aside from having to finish grading papers and portfolios for my summer class. UGH! The summer class is a great bunch, so it's much easier than it could be, but hey, it's WORK!!!

WORK!!! I just did sooooooooooooooo much work to cover my vacation! YUK! When I scheduled my vacation we had no clients testing. So I took this week, my boss & another guy also took it....ANYHOW the scheduler guy (not paying any attention) scheduled 15 Test THAT WEEK. We normally do...at the most 6!!!!! SEE THE DIFFERENCE!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I am sooooooooooo HAPPY I wont be there!!!! Lets the "kissup" slackers (thats who will be in that week)handle it all!!!!

Glad you cleared that up..he looks more like he's shooting the bird... :bitelip:
I guess I'm going to have to be careful about using that one. :lmao: I have a few like that (no-no finger wagging, the crossed fingers, etc.) and they all look mostly like I'm being naughty if I use them. Heh!

DENIED at Target today.

I went to pick up a couple more of the Champion "Duo Dry" shirts that are great for running/jogging or walking around in 95F and 80% humidity ;)

I saw a LIME GREEN one and thought, Excellent! But then I saw it was an XL and I thought, Denied!

:(

Oooh! Thanks for the tip on the shirts. I will suggest this to my hubby. He and/or my DS might like something like this. I know that kind of shirt exists, but never know which brand or kind to buy. Looks like another trip to Target for me! :rotfl:

Cool - have fun!!! Are you guys pasotrs/minnisters? My BIR/SIL do that (they are both pastors) - they just did one for the Baltimore football team (Ravens? not a big sports person here...)
No, it's a volunteer program called Engaged Encounter. It's two married couples and a priest sharing with engaged couples on effective communication skills, plus we have a lot of fun and laughs. You should have heard the other couple's story about their wedding night
Now I'm worn out, but I've got 12 pages to read.

Wish I got paid better for what I do, but you're right about the "quality of life" thing. Some things, money can't buy. Lots of vacation time, though I gotta learn to take summers off instead of teaching a class to afford vacation!! I haven't had a summer off in 4 years and I soooo miss it. Hoping I can do it again next year.

I would looooooove to have summers off. Funny thing is I was a day care teacher at one time looking to teach in an elementary school, but got out of it. I work for the Federal Gov. now, I make too much money now to ever go back. Actually I should say I have too much tuition too pay to ever go back any time soon. :sad2:

fingerscrossed.gif
(that's fingers crossed by the way, not the bird!)

Now you just had to go & say that because you know someone is just gonna download it for naughty purposes! :sad2: :rotfl:

I bought a hand pump misty fan and I've been using it on ds this weekend and it works pretty well. Are you all telling me that it won't hold up to the challenge of wdw in Sept? If so I better keep looking for another option. State fair is coming soon and those things are always for sale there if that is the case.

They get bang up pretty good at WDW! On & off rides...just walking around....the Walmart ones always broke on me! The WDW are expensive & built like tanks...and got a MUCH BETTER FAN! In other words...this is one of those times...You get what you pay for!
I read on the board if one of your WDW breaks....WDW will GLADY replace it...free of charge! :thumbsup2

Either I wasnt paying attention or I just realized NOW! But this is your FIRST time in WDW!!!!!!!

Why didn't this HIT me before!
headinjar.gif
?????? Anyhow ...I've been to both......You will Be AMAZED at the difference in size between DL & MK! Very Very VERRRRYYYYY noticeable difference. Especially since you are so use to DL. The walk up Mainstreet in MK is like 5x more than DL. To tell you the truth I like DL Fantasyland a bit better.....Much more quaint! :thumbsup2 I was so familiar with MK when I went to DL is was all very familiar yet very different. It was weird! One of my all time favorite things is having dinner/lunch at the resturant attatched to the POC ride in DL. I REALLY REALLY like that too in DL! :wizard:

I am very interested to get your feelings when you come back.
You weren't paying attention, mister!!

I cannot believe you didn't know that. Look at my tag! Look at my ticker! Duuuude! :sunny:

We're really looking forward to exploring new Disney (even my Disney'd out DH), so I am sure I'll have lots to say when we get back. I really hope to make time for a detailed trip report - got my 50th anniversary mickey ears notebook all filled up with a new pad of paper for TR notes!

I, too, Blue Bayou. It's so dark and cool in there, especially nice on a hot summer day, but super neat any time. I have been bummed because it had been closed along with POC for months now. I'm really looking forward to having dinner there with my DH in the fall.

I found my fans at BJ's about 3or 4 years ago....they were almost the same thing as the ones at disney(my brother paid $18 for his at the world)...but.....they had cost $6 at Bj's and they lasted through 3 trips.....My MIL...wouldn't pay $6 for hers(we aren't going to go there)...she paid $3 for the one at walmart.....2 days into the trip...we laid it to rest.....(the foam blades fell off!!!and yes I laughed...)

I made up for it today by ordering two LIME GREEN logo tees from disneyshopping.com ($3.99 each :teeth: )

I'll hit a couple different Target stores tomorrow and try and find me a
LIME GREEN one!
