I had a pirate party for DS6's 5th b-day..got some great hats at Party City, some pirate chests...found some gold coins, jewels(crafty things from $ tree), gold rings, and seaweed!!(dark green crimped shredded filling paper). I was thinking that a buried treasure hunt in the backyard would be fun, but we ended up at Chuckee Cheese, so maybe next year...They did the Pirate Cruise at the Grand Floridian2 years ago, they had a ball...so cute to hear them coming around the bend singing,"yohoyoho a pirate's life for me. Argh!

Since when did such low life criminal activity (pirating) become so glamorous?

It is funny. You'd be surprised what they find when they go walking around parks. I now know where people go to party because my son has the evidence to prove it. I also know that at the drive in theater in Pueblo colorado budlight is the favorite beer with a close following of corona. I was surprised that coors light did not figure higher in this.

I had to finally break down this year and buy my ds a bag of fake coins ($4.00) but I got tired of finding his piggy bank money out in the sandbox and anywhere else there was a treasure hunt going on.

Our boys are going on the pirate cruise also. I can't wait to see there faces when they get there and find out about it.

For our first pirate party we got lots of great pirate stuff from oriental trading catelog. Pirate bandanas, eye patches and lots of other great pirate stuff. Second pirate party used a lot of the left overs, did treasure hunt and picked different style pirate plates. This year we had poc theme. Found everything right after it came out. Our timing was as good as it could be.

My Target $1 section was 2 for $1, too, and was totally cleaned out! Not a lime green item to be seen - good thing I bought my hat and ponchos at full $1 price. As you can see, I made the DIS shopping rounds today: Big Lots (found the trial size of my fav hair spray, omg it's been 3 years since I was able to find a small one and there was ONE there for $1 ), Dollar Tree, Target, and then HD.

dwheatl, you must be somewhere way north of me because nowhere in so cal could possibly be in the 80s today. Even at my house it was 101 and we're at a slightly higher elevation which puts us about avg 4 degrees cooler than the valley. Ugh. Chilly is not even within the realm of possibility. Forecast is 105+ for the weekend. If FL is THAT much worse than this, we all will die!

Must be the same person that went to your hd. How dare they come to both your hd and your target.

Well I caught up with all the posts.

Cyn it was hot one today wasn't it? You folks need to knock it off down there in SC we really want our monsoon to stop.

Our house has come through pretty good but many of our friends have not fared as well. We don't have curb and gutter out here in the country so water just does it thing. Have a neighbor that took 2 feet of mud in their brand new home. Just moved in 2 months ago. So sad for them. Doesn't look like anyone is going to be getting much insurance help or govt help here. I drive about 20miles to work and today was garbage day and I was stunned to see all the carpet rolls along side the road. Bummer.

Well off to bed.

Ds is on the mend. Still getting some fevers but much lower and goes about 6 hours after motrin now. We are hoping he'll be able to go to 3v3 this weekend. Out of town=hd.
