Oh wow, that is so cool to meet someone from "home" (well, close enough anyway!)! We used to go up Hwy 38 everytime we went back up the hill because it was a much easier drive than 18! And I hear ya about the tottering old smiley - I turn the big FOUR-OH tomorrow :scared1: :faint:   (but really, I'm handling it fine.......NOT!!!!!!!!)

I'm so relieved that they are starting to get it under control. A friend I went to high school with is fire chief in Big Bear, and I spoke with him Friday night by IM and he was leaving the next day to offer support in fighting the fire. Haven't heard back from him and was starting to get nervous. I'm glad they have it back out into a relatively unpopulated area - hopefully they will be able to put it out soon! :goodvibes :cool1: Thanks for the update!!!
I just turned 14 (birthday dyslexia) the end of June, so I don't want to hear about your big 04! LOL Eh, it's not so bad. Happy birthday anyway!

Hello everyone just a quick little update. Ds is staying with mil. She's a nurse also to give us a night to get some sleep. It's been 10 days of heck and little sleep. Going back to doc tomorrow. Hopefully some preliminary results are back. Blood work didn't get started until today instead of on Friday. :furious: (stupid lab). Probably going to have more lab done tomorrow and chest xray. If nothing shows up on lab looks like we're headed up to childrens hospital to a specialist. Still has fever most of the time although moved around a bit more today and actually ate something. (this is a significant step in the right direction in my book). Bummer is Doc is headed to grand canyon this week. Talk about bad timing and I really don't like his partner too much. Not sure what we're going to do about that.

Hope everyone is staying cool. It is was a balmy 107 here today.

Wandered around walmart tonight to find something for ds and did find the misty mate sport (was 10.00) so I bought it as well as some of those neck thingies. Did I get the right misty mate? I saw another one a while back at a different walmart that was in like a little carrying case. Is that one better or will I do ok with the sport. I'll give my dollar store one to the boys to cool each other off.

Well I'm exhausted so I'm going to turn in. I only skimmed through the posts tonight. I'll catch up on them soon. For anyone headed to dw this week safe travels and have a great time if I don't get to wish you off.

For those of you keeping ds in your thoughts thankyou. :worried: You all are keeping me sane.

I have to tell you guys about this, heh. My DH and I were talking (as long as his lil' vacation-talk attention span would allow) about what will get packed and how much room we'll have in suitcases. He told me he's going to pack his lined jacket. :rotfl2: I said, "You're high. It will take up all that room in the suitcase and you'll never use it. In fact, it will make you hotter just knowing it's in the room." He said, "It might get chilly at night." Me: "No, it's not going to. When you're at work tonight and for the next two weeks, try checking the weather for 32830. Do it about 11:00 pm here, which is 2:00 am there and tell me if you think you'll need even a tshirt if you were to go outside for god knows what reason at that hour." DH: "I'm bringing a jacket. There might be a hurricane and you'll be sorry you don't have a jacket too if it gets all rainy and the wind starts to blow like that, etc. etc." Me: "Fine. Bring a jacket. The rest of us aren't bringing one. But I am going right now to post this little conversation to my friends on the DIS boards. I'll let you know what they have to say about this." :rotfl: He looks at the "light" jacket he was thinking of bringing and says, "Hmm, well, I guess this isn't as light as I was thinking."

I told him if he so much as brings a pair of Levi's (black is what he mostly has because he wears them to work...can you IMAGINE black Levi's at WDW in August!!??) I am not going to let him live it down all week. Omg.

silly boys. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I don't know if we'll have the motion sensors at OKW, but I have seen the threads that show how to bypass that motion thing on the thermostat. The balloon idea is a really good one, though!

Me swiped this from another thread....cut y paste to make it easy!
Note: Author says its for the POLY...it works in ALL WDW resorts!

I just returned from the Poly and wanted to give a heads up on that sensor that only turns the AC on when there is movement in the room. Last trip we were not happy when we awoke in the middle of the night hot. After reading the DIS I found that there is a way to bypass the sensor. On this trip I called maintenance immediately and someone came right over to show me how to do it. He said that you can bypass it anytime and they get a lot of requests for it. So here is the way to do it: On the thermostat push the power button and the down arrow(that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly there will be the letters "bp" where the temp numbers usually are. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. He, the maintenance CM, then said that you might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours. We found that it stayed on bypass for a couple of days at a time. It was great to come back to a cold room or not wake up in the middle of the night in a sweat again. The CM that did this for us said it was nop problem doing this as they do it for people all the time. Guess they get a lot of complaints.

Gee at this point I think you're younger than your son! :rotfl:

You'd better watch this birthday dyslexia stuff you're aging yourself by 10 years instead of 1. 04, 14, 24, 34, 44 :confused3

As for me, I stopped counting years, now I count months. I just turned 28 & 120 months in June. :goodvibes

 Still thinking about you. Man, it's a good thing there's still awhile away for the WDW trip. Having all this going on then would stink!! Poor kid.

Awk! My son, who happened to catch the Denver forecast a couple of days ago, mentioned the temps in astonishment. I just nodded and said "I know!"

Welcome to our misery! (though it has cooled off for a couple of blessed days! Ah!)

Wah! Everyone can find these but meeeee! Oh, well, if worse comes to worst, I will be forkin' over the $18 at WDW and not feel too bad about it, as Disunc says they're good ones anyway. :) It just makes me mad not to be able to find these when I am looking for them! :furious:

Take care...hope that sleep you got was loooong and quality!

Thanks, Disunc. That's the exact post I meant. Now I won't have to search for it when I get there and remember I need to do this!
