Well, Welcome again!!! I am a bear from Virginia - and my name is Virgina, but you can call me Hugh, or Ginger, or GingerBear, or....well, just call me something nice and I'll be happy!

Now....I just have to figure out how to not confuse you with the OTHER Katt from VA....hmmm.....Va Katt and Katt in Va - not confusing at all!

I went to Tech, BTW, so I know Roanoke well - pretty town.

Well I had a pretty big post and some replies... but it went "POOF"

SO there is a Kat and a Katt or are there two Katt's The difference is in the "T" .. I was on another Place and we had two Kathy's so one was Kat ( 1 t) and myself with 2 t's but I mostly seem to answer to MOM.. somewhere around 1996 I lost my first name and it has not been seen since.

We were heading to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens Friday till I realized..

That this was Memorial Day weekend... SO I think we will postpone that till NEXT Friday.

Oh and Re. Apollo's Chariot .. I owe y'all a story about me and my adventures on Apollo

Heading out for what my be an "INTERESTING" Afternoon. Joshua has a dentist appointment at 1:00. He has Autism and has yet to have a cavity. Well we have one today and will need the needle and drill.
Not too sure if he will handle this. If not it will be a MAJOR ordeal. Involving the Hospital and Sedation.

Back from the denist and Joshua did it !! He got nervous.. we all do... But it was when he began to GROWL That I began to worry.

But it's over and we will be trying a new approach to his dental hygiene so HOPEFULLY I won't have to go here for a LONG TIME... if ever

At our house, we call that "Apollo's Chet". That's how the girl pronounced it when we rode. And that was about all you could understand of her spiel. We all loved the ride, though.

VERRRY Cool!!!!! Good for you?! Have you done the dining plan before? I it - nothing like not having to think twice about whether to pick the chicken or the STEAK!!! I'm so happy for you!

We have done it before, but wasn't going to do it this trip...With Chris being 9, 4 chicken nuggets at a CS place just don't cut it, that plus his allergies, we are better going ala carte for him instead od doing the kids CS combo meals that are on the Dining plan. BUT since it is FREE we are thrilled..it will save us a ton of $$, and we can easily buy Chris an extra order of fries or popcorn for a snack if he needs it.

I think waiting till Next Fri for Busch Gardens is a good idea! But, now that you mentioned you have a story about Apollo's Chariot...SPILL IT!!!

Yeah same here. I am the other Kat, and I mostly post in the teal green. Since you are blue...hopefully they won't confuse us to bad. I am pretty sure I am the older one of the 2 of us! I have 4 kids, 2 in their almost mid-20's and then an almosot teenage boy (13 in July) and a almost 10 Year old girl (in June). so we are abut the same there!

Went to Kings Dominion when it was nothing but a safari you drove through (we did ours in a bus!)and the scooby doo coaster. Haven't been in a few years though. Course Busch is around the corner, so to speak, and I haven't been there in a long while. Trying to remember when, but before Apollo's ride! Maybe we can meet? Or will you tear back that night?

Ok... Scott went to walk Sarabeth through a Howl-O Scream maze and Joshua wanted to ride Apollo's Chariot. Well I had not ridden it yet. I love coasters.. not usually the Steel ones.. I'm a Wooden Gal. My first Coaster was The Beast at Kings Island In Cincinnati. So I agree to ride with him. But as I stared up at this thing.. ( that he has ridden many times before) I remarked.. "MAN.. THIS THING IS KINDA TALL" Non the less.. we get on and start the climb.Midway up I seem to recall having this deep intense need to get closer to GOD.. so I began to pray Jesus, Jesus, Jesus... That was ALL THAT WOULD COME OUT !! At the top. I noticed the NEAR Vertical drop .. Instead of facing my fear.. I closed my eyes like a Chicken. NOTHING can Prepare you for riding that coaster at night.. with your eyes closed.
I am catching air.. and all the time my eyes are closed... Did I mention I do not like Steel Coasters... ??? It's that whole feeling like I am going to FLY OFF that skinny little rail.

About the time I THOUGHT the ride should have been over I opened my eyes.. at the top of the last Hill before you tilt sideways and down.. and I know I saw an Angel floating there.. I do not think it was Jesus.. reguardless... he waved... but would NOT GET ON

I said "Good Night" and rode in the dark till that thing stopped and Joshua gave me the "All Clear"" I had Survived... So me and God have this understanding... He spared me... I do not get back on... Deal !!

Oh Katt, I can relate! I however generally am not a coaster chick. I do love Everest though so I decided I would be brave and try R&R with my sister, neice and daughter. They laugh if you just mention R&R now. Appenently I also pray when terrified. I believe they say I utted the phrase "sweet jesus" or something to that effect over and over again.
