Ok, where do I start? It’s six days to go and despite all my planning I don’t feel ready. ARGH! Where did this start? How are we going to Walt Disney World in 2008? We just went last August! Hop in the TARDIS and journey with me back to Feb 3, 2008. I just got notified by my boss that a long awaited promotion has been approved. We had long said that IF and/or when I got promoted we would celebrate by going to Disney World. Thank goodness it didn’t’ happen last year or I’d only have gotten one trip. Now I get two trips just a couple weeks over a year! WOOT! I hit the computer and found airline tickets (875 fees inclusive for the 4 of us to fly R/T). Now I knew the dates, 8/20-8/27. So I contact The Mouse For Less/Mike C. who has helped me with my last two trips to WDW (2002,2007) and we booked those dates at Pop Century at a preferred room with 8 days of MYW tickets and the Dining Plan.
That being said….I really wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I kept dropping hints and numbers etc but my wife was pretty stubborn (as she needs to be around me and money…) Quick, back in the TARDIS and arrive in May. I forget the date but I finally convinced her that SOME sort of code would come out and that we already had a good rate. I also said that if we stayed at POP I would have to rent a car but if we stayed at WL I would forgo a car.. J My wife loves me.. and probably wanted me to stop bugging her.. I contacted Mike C. again and Voila we had a reservation for a Courtyard View Room at the Wilderness Lodge. YES!!!!! I love this place, never stayed but I have eaten at WCC twice. It is close to MK, my favourite park, and just about the coolest place…I kept the ressie for POP incase of some financial catastrophe on our end.
Mean while - #1 Son the Younger. He is not quite tall enough for the rides he is ready to ride… We start getting him set that the biggest thrill ride for him might still be Goofy’s Barnstormer. He’s a little disappointed but is a great sport and ready to deal with it. He’s just happy to see Goofy and Donald again.. Our side just makes it a little harder to do the three rides in each park that he can’t ride. Thank goodness it is only three in each park!
Ok BACK in the TARDIS and the Dr delivers us back to today, August 14th. I’m STRESSED!!!
We leave in 6 days….. We have a FULL weekend of fun planned, none of which is Disney related..We have the suitcases out in the guest room…and virtually NOTHING in them!!!
I do have our parks worked out, and 6 of the days I know what rides we are going to try to hit. I have all our meals reserved (since February!) although I am trying to move our meal at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night up an hour…

HERE WE GO!

Hope you enjoyed this. I”ll post more as we head down to the World!

John
