DS4 and I are headed to WDW in 2 weeks tomorrow :yay: :yay: :yay:

DH is attending a seminar at the Grosvenor and DS1 will be staying with grandma and grampa.

I haven't been to WDW since 1986 when I was 12 ~ I am so excited!!!!

Here is what our agenda is so far ~ We are going to spend all 3 days in MK ~ that's what DS4 is most excited for and that way we can both really just relax and experience everything. We have decided not to do the MNSSHP and DS is very excited to get his hair cut at the barber shop

Wed 10/24 ~ fly in, dinner in DTD

Thurs 10/25 ~ breakfast at CP 8:15, Family Magic Tour, probably spend most of the day in FantasyLand and DS wants to do BTMR

Fri 10/26 ~ breakfast at CP 8:10 (I decided to do this breakfast again as we are staying off-site and this gets us further into the park early, Ds loves Pooh and we have to eat breakfast anyway)
Jungle cruise, Tom Sawyer island, whatever strikes our fancy :)
Dinner at Chef Mickey (with DH for this one) at 7:40

Sat 10/27 ~ breakfast somewhere (we have a Chef Mickey ressie but since we were able to get one for dinner the night before I think we will be cancelling this one) ~ should I try for a CP one again just to get in the park?
Revisit all our favorites in the morning, back to the hotel for naps in the afternoon and then he is so excited to stay up late and be in the MK at night and see fireworks

Sun 10/28 ~ DTD in the morning while DH tests and then fly home

Any things that we should definately make sure to do/see/go on?

That sounds fun. I would be tempted to squeeze in Animal Kingdom, but your planning is much easier by eliminating that!

Is your DS going to be able to wait through the Family Magic Tour before he can explore the MK? Maybe that would be better a different day -- I know my kids would feel like they were being punished if they had to first go on a tour w/a specific itinerary instead of checking everything out RIGHT AWAY.

Consider if you are going to collect autographs and photos w/characters. There are a ton of opportunities for that! Also, I like your idea to eat at CP and then be in the park early -- not sure if I would do that 3 days in a row, though.

Also, be sure to go on POTC, Laugh Factory (new Monsters Inc), Auto-topia and Buzz Lightyear.

Make sure to visit the Lego store when in DTD. There are awesome outdoor (covered) building stations that kids can play at for hours! Get yourself a coffee and relax!

If you are taking the shuttle from the Grovesnor, make sure you have plenty of time to make your ADR. I thought it took forever to catch the shuttle there, and there were stops at other hotels before we were on our way, and when going to MK, they will bring you to TTC, so you still have to boat/monorail in.

I am sure this will be a trip to remember for you and your son!

Thanks so much for the advice and suggestions.

DS is ALL about scavenger hunts, treasure maps, etc ~ he asks me to make him at least one every day!!! And he tends to get a little overwhelmed without "structure" ~ (totally not how I am ~ lol) so we thought this would be a wonderful way for him to first experience MK and have his "hunt" for the day. Also his absolute favorite thing is anything and everything having to do with Peter Pan so **fingers crossed** the FMT will still be about Peter Pan and end with a visit with Peter or Wendy!!! He doesn't know what it's about, just that we are going on a "hunt" through MK and that is all he talks to everyone about :rotfl:

We are definately going to do autographs and characters ~ he is so excited for that too. I figure if we're in the MK all 3 days then we won't feel rushed to have to get everything done in one day and if there is a long line for someone he really wants to see it won't take away from our only day there.

I keep trying for a CRT breakfast but since it was a last minute trip I don't know that we'll be able to get one. He really wants to eat with the princesses and "be their prince"

We will definately try pretty much everything ~ once he gets used to something ~ watch out there's no stopping him

I'm planning on taking a taxi from the Grosvenor to the MK (does it still drop us at the TTC or will it take us to the entrance?) just to cut down on waiting time at least in the morning and if we're really tired/hot/cranky/etc.

I'm so excited ~ we'll be there in 2 weeks :cool1: :cool1:

Instead of your Chef Mickey breakfast reservation? Have you thought about heading to the Poly for their character breakfast. There is even a great family photo op, before you sit to eat. The food is great, and Lilo Stitch and Mickey are all dressed tropical...it's really cute and fun.
