Our one real complaint

My dh and I just got back from the 4/17 eastern and our only complaint other than we had to leave is in regards to the last night. You book a 7 night cruise and yet they close the pools the last night early and then start spraying the whole ship down for the next cruise. You don't even get to use the facilities the last night. We tried to take one last walk around deck 9 and 10 on Friday night and see the stars. They had deck 10 closed at the end for repairs and the deck 9 was dripping wet with rivers of water. I didn't want my shoes getting wet before I packed them and I kept feeling like I was going to slip. Mickey slide wasn't open at all on Friday. We understand they have to get the ship ready for the next cruise, but it was ridiculous. It is suppose to be a 7 night cruise. All the deck chairs on 9 and 10 were stacked up also. The lights were dimmed and I don't even know if the bars were open.

On the same note, I was down in Treasure Ketch--the shop--and the check out person asked the lady in front of me "And what room WERE you in?" I chuckled.

We almost had the same problem, but we still walked around the wet deck (we just dried our shoes with a towel before packing them) and we also unstacked a couple chairs and enjoyed a quiet ship by ourselves relaxing under the stars.

That would bug me, too. It's hard enough leaving on the actual last day without being emotionally (and otherwise) ousted even earlier!

::MickeyMo That's what's nice about having a verandah...they can't take that away from you ! Get a couple of drinks or a bottle of wine or call room service and have milk and cookies. In other words make your own party !! You can't fight "city hall" !:p

We had a verandah---40 some odd feet of it in a Cat 1. Just isn't the same as strolling on deck with a drink in one hand and your spouse in the other looking up at the stars. The rough seas also managed to put a nice coating of sea spray which dried to sea salt on it---so looking through it was a bit cloudy--but we endured---the hardships that we must put up with----LOL!!!Besides---we wanted to escape all the empty drawers, packed bags and thoughts of it all ending. Oh well. Just a complaint--not a reason not to go back. I will admit--the pools looked nice with fresh, clean water. So nice it made me want to go into them even more. :)

Hello Skuba2! It's your neighbor next door, Lynn......I must admit I'm still swaying! Hard to believe that I would still be feeling the sway after two days on land but I am. I didn't try to go up to Deck 9 to walk around. That's awful. They probably figure that everyone is so busy wrapping things up with "Til We Meet Again" and Shutters and such that you won't notice. Next time you could wear your water shoes! Take down one of those chairs and have a private party. Hey, you had a fabulous deck and let's not even talk about that suite! Wooooohheeeeee....you are one lucky lady. It was very nice meeting you. I hope to have the pleasure again.

Hey Lynn----I'm still swaying too. Particularly when I turn my head too fast. It was nice meeting you too--just wish it wasn't the last day. We could have talked eachother's ear off over a cup of coffee. LOL!! We were lucky with the suite. You do get spoiled rotten with it. But alas----I guess it is back to making my own bed. Gees.

We had the same problem. However we were both so sunburned that we wanted nothing to do with the pool. Later that night we did walk on "lovers lane" as DH-2-be called it seeing only couples. We were still in vacation mode so we took off our shoes to avoid falling and really loved it. We knew it was our last chance to really soak up the feeling of the ship on our feet! :lovestruc

I must admit I'm still swaying!
People have reported that they feel that way for a few days up to a few weeks (my swaying lasts about a week).

So was the WD suite really, really nice?? Did you eat meals in your room or did you join the crowds?

Yes---the suites are really, really nice. You are able to have your space, the kids get their space and then there is common space. We ate breakfast in our rooms at the table. We got 2 fruit plates, a cookie plate, a cheese plate (there weren't any crackers and was pretty weird--like 4 slices of cheese and one ball. I wondered if the crackers fell off) and 2 dessert plates with mini cakes on it. We also had a stereo system that we could check out cd for and more tv's than we have at home. LOL!! The master bath has a large whirlbpool tub that faces a small tv. The shower is separate.

Anyway, probably more than you asked about.

I was wondering if they close the pools on the four night cruises too? There isn't much time for the pool as it is and I hope they don't close it early.
