Our not so Star Warsy Weekend

This is my first ever trip report, We were going for Star Wars Weekend. We left Indiana may 27th and left Disney june 3rd. Now that we have that covered, pretty much no one knows me or my Disney family so Here we are

From left to right there is my brother in law kevin kerr, nieces Carlin Kerr (10 months), Kayleigh Jones(8) in back then Lilly Jones(6) in front, and nephew Bennett Kerr(9), then me matthew Johnson(14).

And my sister Laura Kerr.It was also Carlins(or Carly) first visit, lauras Birthday, and Kevin and Lauras 3rd anniversary that we were celebrating , We also did the give a day get a day with the lionel making blankets. If you are wondering about the shirts, my sister made most of them, you will be able to tell which ones she made and which she didnt.

So I should probably tell you how it all went down before we left. About 5 days before we left ( 4 sleeps is what we call it) we had some surprises from kevins sister, Carrie and her husband Clint, they live down in florida but we will get to that later. They sent a bax of goodies for the trip and we opened that first. everyone got a shirt and there were animal crackers and games and whole bunch of cool stuff. Mickey sent us a box that surprised them that we were leaving 4 sleeps in advance. So we started packing since they now knew. Those days had to be the longest day of our lives, and the kids had to go to school. So the last day of school came and we picked them up and away we went. First to home, then Bennett in kokomo, Then we left for disney.

It seemed like day one took forever. The kids went to school, we finished packing, laura worked on a couple shirts and we waited for school to get out. once we got kayleigh and lilly from school we had to go back to lauras so they could takke showers because we were driving. I wasnt going to smell stink the whole way down. We left at about 4:15 to go pick up Bennett. Had to stop at culvers. Me and Laura had to switch places because Carly did not want me by her. She wanted her mom. So I was navigator and on the way down we had to take a detour because kevin got off the wrong exit and sprint navigation took us through the back roads. Kayleigh thought we wouldnt make it there in time. While listening to a CD filled with disney music Hakuna Matata came on and Laura said to Bennett 'Bennett this is your jam!!' then he said 'this is my jam, I'll take some penut butter with that jam'. We were all cracking up. I was able to sit in back with Carly through the night in Georgia since she was sleeping.And then the next day came.

When everyone started to wake up, we were about 4 hours from disney world. So me and Laura decided to look at disney billboards. Once we finally got to orlando, Kevins wonderful GPS got messed up and again we went the wrong way. We estimated that we would be at the resort by noon. Kevin stopped at a gas station and asked how to get there. They looked at him like he was crazy and showed him that it was probably about one mile down the road. So we went down that mile and saw this

We were staying at ASMu and got there at about 2. luckily Laura and Kevin decided not to get tickets for the day we arrived so we stayed at the resort and looked around, went swimming, all the stuff you do the day you get there.

We stayed in building one so it was close to everything.The kids favorite part? the bongo staircase. I didnt understand but they are kids so why not.Thats all we did the first day was swim. I got one of the refillable mugs. It was way worth it since we were on the meal plan.I will definitly be getting one next time we go (in 2 years).

Tomorrow, Hollywood studios and star wars weekend.

I like the shirts as well! We were at the Poly the 6th-11th and made an attempt at Star Wars weekends as well. You can see in my TR it didn't exactly go off as planned if I'm interpreting your title correctly.

I personally like the bigger pics on my home monitor.

No we went the week before you But it still didnt go right. Oh well.

Day 3 (or day 1 in the parks), Everyone woke up, I never checked the times that everyone got up sorry, got ready changed clothes, got some zone bars to eat or cereal, then we headed to the bus stop.

this is what the backs of our shirts said
We used the EMH so we didnt get to see the opening 'ceremony' with the storm troopers.But we did get in before rope drop so thats good.

the sun was in our eyes if you couldnt tell. First we went to meet some characters.

We also met handy manny, minnie, piglet, daisy. then we met this little guy.

after meeting the characters we did star tours since it will be referbished by the time we come again. Me kayleigh, and lilly went to do TOT. They did fine untill the elevator came out of the shaft, Then they flipped out when the doors opened when you look outside and we dropped.They hated it.
While we were looking for Kevin and Bennett, Kayleigh and Lilly went through basic training with the army men from toystory.We met up with Kevin and did toystory mania. That really tires your arm. After Beuty and the Beast, Laura and the kids went back 'home' While me and Kevin stayed back. We did tower of terror. Then I had made my first pin trade ever.. I had bought 40 pins on ebay to trade, and they are right when you get started you dont want to stop. Then we did the backlot tour,Bennett went to get in line for the jedi training acadamy earlier. So everyone came back so Bennett could do that, thats where the not so star warsy comes in. It was a huge storm and we waited for at least an hour and then it didnt happen. but he did get a star wars action figure.Then we went to once apon a dream.After that we went to do the hoopla and once again, it was cancelled due to rain.So we went to the pin traders under the hat and then got some smoked turkey legs. They are the best. then we left.Every night, all the kids were in bed at least 1 hour after we got back..
