our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

awesome update Miss Dawn..i love the lego area..i spend alot of time and digital camera space there every time..
EPCOT..wow, now i HAVE to hear about that! ;)

these were attached to a retro-looking mickey and minnie figurine. the title of the statue was "a day at the parks" or something like that. anyway, these tickets are what ray says they used to have to buy every summer when he came as a kid. he says you couldn't just buy a ticket and ride everything like nowadays. you had to pick a certain ticket that included certain rides. yeah, he's old. :lmao:

DSC04319.jpg

Ok, now watch it! I remember those tickets, so what does that say about me? :rolleyes1 Ok, I know it, I AM OLD! :rotfl2:

Actually, funny story about those tickets. When I was 5 my family was at WDW with friends and we were a group of about 20 people. We had just come out of the Haunted Mansion, and I turned to watch the Steamboat go by. When I turned around, NOBODY! I mean how do you lose a group of 20! Of course, I started crying, and it was at dusk, so it was starting to get dark. Luckily, this nice couple stopped to ask me if I was lost. When I said I was, they took me to one of the ticket booths, where you could buy those tickets. ;) Well, I stayed with that lady and got to punch the buttons and dispense the tickets. It was a lot of fun for a 5 year old. So much fun, that when my dad finally came to get me, I didn't want to leave. Now, I'm sure he was ready to ring my neck, but he didn't say a thing. I think they were all happy to know that I was safe. I can still remember that like it was yesterday. Now being a mother myself, I can't imagine the fear that my parents felt. By the time my dad found me it was completely dark outside.

Sorry to go :offtopic:

Back to the conversion of Ray....:rolleyes1 :thumbsup2

yayy that ray went to Epcot!! I love it there myself! Those mickey rice crispies looked yummy!!! I must try one on this trip!!

Check out my signature..I've started my Pre trippie!!

Wow! I'm totally buying some green hot chocolate in January!!! :hyper:

I used to teach a little girl called Poppy. It is a very cute name! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to hearing how Ray liked Epcot!

Dawn,
Your treats from Goofy's look so good. When we went, we watched the candy creators make caramel apples, those looked so good. The ladies sure know how to drizzle caramel! But since we were headed to the airport we didn't think it would be practical to carry on the apples.:rotfl2:

We did end up buying the carrot cake cookie and German chocolate cookie. When I got home I wished I had bought more. I think it was around $2.29/cookie, but it was so worth it. I will have to be more adventurous next time, and make a treat. Try one of the specialty cookies when you return in August, they are so good.

I really love DTD:love: . All of the stores are so much fun. We had the best time at WOD, my Dniece got into a window display while trying on a minnie apron. We were outside the store snapping pictures. We laughed so hard.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It was one of the trip highlights.

Looking forward to your Epcot visit, can't wait to hear about it.

I am sure that it will be weather that you can wears shorts and a tank top, but you would be comfy in a tshirts and shorts..or in the evening throw on a sweatshirt...at least that is what my grandparents have said when i have talked to them about the weather...

but then again, i dont want it to be cold enough to wear pants...pants in disney are not an option.

I agree, pants in WDW are illegal!!!;)

It can get cool at night though. I remember bringing and wearing a fleece jacket.

I personally think one should always wear their pants. I think they frown on going pantsless....:rolleyes1

RAY WANTS TO GO TO EPCOT?!?!?!

He is thoroughly brainwashed.

His journey to the dark side is complete.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

My husband is not an Epcot fan, either -- well, he isn't a WS fan. I think I finally changed his mind on this last trip.

Can't wait to see what happens with Ray! popcorn::

How long did it take you to pick yourself off the floor once Ray mentioned Epcot? LOL! Wow, you've trained him well Dawn. Your treats look yummy! And I also LOVE, LOVE that Vision print. I'd love to have that as well. :)

Oh man, I read those two posts - you guys definitely encountered a bad vibe that day! Good for Ray for being willing to give it a second try; now I'm really anxious to read how it went. I hope you both enjoyed it more the second time around - we just LOVE Epcot!

i like it - it's not my favorite park but i do enjoy it more than ray does. you will see if he liked it or not......not gonna spill the beans yet!

Just read your posts from your hellcot day. I totally understand your wanting to leave and feeling for your husband. Hopefully your day there was better on this trip. I hate it when couples start fighting in public. AKWARD! I know it happens, but do it a little more conspicuous please? And the kid thing, geez! It's Disney World for crying out loud. "So Mary, how was your trip to Disneyworld?" >>itty, my mom slapped the crap out of me the whole time"

:rotfl2: EXACTLY! i'm not saying the little girl didn't need to be disciplined, but not like THAT and definitely not in front of people. :confused3

we had to wear hoodies at night in late april/early may this trip. i'm hoping it's at least cool enough for that in december!

yeah, we had our hoodies on 3 nights during our trip. and i had a sweater on over the dress i wore to narcoosee's after the sun went down.

:lovestruc Oh, good. I have never been to Basin, so she'll have to fill me in. I have been to their "online store" but nothing in the flesh!

Great update. Hm...epcot, huh?!:lovestruc

well, you definitely need to check it out when you go this time!!! you'd love it. lots of hands-on stuff.

how cute about your niece!!! i bet that was adorable. next time you'll have to go over to goofy's earlier in the trip so you'll have something to munch on when you get back from a long day at the park!

I personally think one should always wear their pants. I think they frown on going pantsless....:rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

Well, if Donald Duck doesn't have to wear pants, why do the rest of us?:rotfl:

good point!

RAY WANTS TO GO TO EPCOT?!?!?!

He is thoroughly brainwashed.

His journey to the dark side is complete.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

i know!!!! you can imagine how pleasantly surprised i was. sometimes deviating from the plan can be a good thing. ::yes::

My husband is not an Epcot fan, either -- well, he isn't a WS fan. I think I finally changed his mind on this last trip.

Can't wait to see what happens with Ray! popcorn::

you will see how ray feels about epcot.......especially later on the TR. popcorn:: you just wait and see though!

i seriously thought he was kidding! i asked him like 3 times if he was serious and he kept saying, "YES!!!" about that vision print, i saw it several times on smaller prints too. i think i might get a smaller one and frame it next time i'm there!

Hey Dawn!

Checking in with you!! I can't wait for the next update!

i never told you guys what i ended up getting as far as ADRs for our december trip, so i thought i'd do that now. here's our plans as of right now. i switched our DHS/epcot days because i kept hearing horror stories about EMH nights at epcot. i don't mind dealing with the crowd if it benefits me, but because we're staying off site i decided to avoid EMH at all costs. anyway, here are the plans. let me know of any feedback, good or bad.....especially if you've gone to WDW in mid-december!

thursday, december 11 - breakfast in condo / epcot future world / walk to boardwalk/beach club area and see xmas decorations / lunch at beaches & cream (no ADR for this - they don't take them) / back to epcot world showcase to see holiday storytellers / dinner at a WS CS (i wanna try morocco!) / illuminations at 9:30

friday, december 12 - breakfast in condo / DHS all day / lunch at sci-fi at 12:50 / block party at 3:00 / dinner at a CS (maybe get some pizza and eat it while waiting for fantasmic) / fantasmic at 7:00 / osborne lights

saturday, december 13 - breakfast in condo / MK all day / lunch at a CS (probably pecos bill's) / castle lighting at 5:45 / dinner at kona cafe at 6:20 / mono to GF to see xmas decorations / back to MK for wishes at 9:00 & spectro at 10:00

sunday, december 14 - AK all day / breakfast at donald's safari breakfast at tusker house at 10:25 / late lunch at a CS (probably flame tree BBQ) / jingle jungle parade at 3:45 / leave AK after parade and go to WL to see xmas decorations / MK for MVMCP / dinner will probably be casey's while we're watching either the fireworks or parade

i have a question for you guys. i'm hoping we can somehow park at the WL after we leave AK, take the boat to MK for MVMCP, then boat back over to WL to our car. i know that this is somewhat frowned upon. but i also know that we will be there during a slow time, so it's not like we're taking up someone else's parking space. has anyone ever tried to do this and been turned away???

in other news.......did you guys hear that tinker bell got her own star on the hollywood walk of fame? how cool is that??? my boss told me that the other day and when i got excited about it her husband goes, "she's not real. she has no personality." um......EXCUSE ME......but tinker bell has WAY more personality than 80 percent of the people in hollywood these days!!!! and she's WAY more famous than a lot of the other recipients. lighten up!!!

here's a link about it: http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/06/19/hollywood.fame.ap/index.html?eref=rss_showbiz

Sounds like a GREAT way to get into the holiday spirit! It will be so nicely decorated everywhere you go.

Tinkerbell is not real? Okay, then who is that that flies across the sky by the castle?!?!? Witnessed by thousands, I might add. Is that not enough proof that she is real?

Hello Dawn!!!! :yay: Memom sent me over and I just wanted to say HI! ;) I read your whole trippie so far. I love how you did all of the links! Very nice. I am just loving your report and the two of you are so cute! :goodvibes I see you are going back in Dec....what a great time to go! :thumbsup2
