Our mostly successful quick trip

DD and I took a short trip to combine free dining, Food & Wine (our first), and my birthday at the end of September. This was our 4th Free DDP trip and we feel like we have the plan down cold. But, in the end, it wasn't as smooth as usual. I think there were several reasons for this.

1. The trip was short (only 5d/4n) & we were trying to squeeze a lot into a short period of time.
2. It was really crowded, did I say crowded? IT WAS CROWDED!!!! Who let all these people in? Why aren't those kids in school? And does EVERYONE really have to use an electric scooter?!?!? I expected busy restaurants but not the parks in general.
3. Should never have booked a TS for F &WF day. The sampling was WONDERFUL and we should have just continued that instead of doing a TS. We had the Fantasmic pkg at Brown Derby so had to pay for 1 TS OOP. We could have saved our $ by not using a TS that day.
4. Always takes the first CS meal to convince DD that we can't eat a CS on our own so we ended up 1 short for lunch at the airport.

My DD's laptop is acting up so I'll continue this later!!

Lucky duck! Food and wine for your birthday! Sorry it was so crowded for you. We were there just before F&W started in September and thought it was busier than it should be, but manageable.

What does #4 mean? Why can you not eat a CS on your own? Too much food? Some of them are pretty big. Did you end up with 1 CS credit left?

thanks for the update on the crowds during this time......we were there right before the F & W started and we had a great walk about......maybe next year we can try the F & W time...

Our usual pattern is for me to get 1 CS breakfast to split while she gets dressed. I drink the coffee & she gets OJ. Then we split a CS lunch and get our own TS dinner. This is plenty of food for us while leaving room for a snack or two. But, every trip, she insists she's too hungry to share that first CS so we each get our own and waste a full CS worth. Never fails.

As for your scooter comment, I have gone 35 times without one. I hurt my heel before this trip and had to use one.
I'm not sure why my injury and use of a scooter, or anyone else's disability would bother your trip. I would have gladly switched places with you. It is not fun to have difficulty walking while on vacation.
