Day 3 continued: March 15, 2010
We left off leaving the Indiana Jones show and heading to ToT to use our 5-6 pm FPs. Of course, we ran into the Block Party Bash crowd, so we had to go the long way around to ToT. As we walked by, we checked the stand-by time, which said 40 minutes. This line is always dreadfully hot in the summer. Back in 2007 or 2008, we were in line and almost to the main building to go into the lobby..and we hear a big thud and then a loud scream. Evidently, a few groups up from us..a girl had passed out and fell flat to the ground and hit her head! Of course, Disney works fast and there were CMs and EMTs there within minutes. So now every time that we pass that spot, we always point it out.
We made it into the lobby and walked right into the library to watch the video. I remember reading in my Hidden Magic book that the Mickey doll the little girl is holding in the elevator is an original Mickey Mouse plush doll and can be bought on Ebay for some serious cash! I also read in the book something about a lever that you can pull once you leave the library to go get on the ride..its supposed to give you a little zap, but we couldnt find it!
Of course, the ride was a blast as usual. I love looking out at the park when the doors open. And I cannot wait to see the new changes in July! Kristen- just to warn you- I might be holding your hand on this ride!
After we got off the ride and looked at our ride pic, we were getting hungry. Can you guess where we ate? If you guessed Toy Story Pizza Planet, then you are right!! This is probably our favorite counter service place to eat at DHS. I really think that this park needs some more places to choose from!! Again, it was nice, so we wanted to get a table outside. There were quite a few people in line, so I told Fiancé what I wanted and found us a table. I had a pepperoni pizza, side salad, and sliced apples. Fiancé had a salad with chicken strips and sliced apples.
The CM cleaning tables saw my Just Engaged pin and made a big deal about it. He came over and wiped down our table and made sure it was so clean! I thanked him and thanked him. Then, Fiancé came out with our food and we realized that the CM who took our order gave us a free cheese pizza! How awesome! We split it..it was so awesome getting another little magic.
After we were done eating, we headed over to get in line for the American Idol Experience Finale. They werent letting people in to even get in the holding area yet, so we watched the video on the big screen.
You can see in this pic, there is a CM walking towards our group of people waiting. He saw our buttons and walked up to us. He asked us if this was our first time at WDW and I laughed at him. HAHA. I said, No, this is like my 23rd trip now. He says to me, Wow! So youre like a WDW Dinosaur then! HAHA. He then congratulated us on our engagement and handed us this:
FPs for any ride at DHS for that night!!

We thanked him and thanked him. He told us to enjoy the show and walked up to let everyone start walking in to the holding area. I seriously hate this part. Everyone starts getting packed in there and its unbearable. When they opened the doors to let us in to sit down, I seriously was getting shoved by this guy who was pushing his way through everyone. It hurt so bad. I kept apologizing to the family next to me because every time he pushed me, I would run into them. They were nice and understood that it wasnt my fault.
Finally, we made it in and found some seats in the 4th row. Once the show began, we realized that we were in for an interesting show. First, a young guy comes out to sing and he had half a row of girls right behind us standing up and screaming at the top of their lungs for him. They werent just screaming, they were being obnoxious about it. Then, the next contestant was a young girl. She had one guy who stood and was screaming at the top of his lungs, who happened to be behind the row of the girls. He was even more obnoxious about it. He hardly let the judges talk. Then, when they got to the Simon judge, he told the girl to not take that guy with her anywhere anymore. We all started cheering when he said that. HAHA. That girl is the one who ended up winning!
Oh, I forgot to mention..they did mention Aaron Kelly during the show, which is one of the contestants on the current American Idol now who got the golden ticket at the AIE. Coincidently, he just got told he was safe for another week just now as I am typing this! HA.
When the show let out, we headed over to TSM to use our free FPs. We realized that it was starting to get really busy in the park, so we decided to think of something else to do for the rest of the night while in line.
This was great! We were able to ride TSM 3 times!! I have to admit, when you go through the FP line, you do miss out on the fun of the stand-by line. But getting on the rider faster makes up for it! When we got off, we started heading to the bus stops..
We were heading to the Poly for drinks and sushi! Wow, its been awhile since Ive stayed at any of the monorail Resorts. I forgot that they all share a bus! The first stop was the Contemporary, then it was the Poly, so the GF is last.
We walked into the Poly lobby and instantly I could smell that Poly smell. Am I the only one who notices this? haha. We walked up the stairs and up to the bar next to Ohana. Of course, I had to point out the table and chairs that we sat at in June while we had our Lapu Lapus! While the bartender was making our drinks, I had to go over to the window and just stare out at the MK and watch the Castle change colors. I didnt want this moment to end. We were in my favorite place in the world, without all the worries of the real world.
With our drinks in hand, we headed over to the Kona sushi bar and sat down. Soon, a CM came over and took our order. We shared the California Luau Roll and the Cucumber Roll. Our table was up against the window and looked out to the monorail station. Heres our view and drinks:
Fiancés drink is on the left, which was a Mai Tai. My drink is on the right, which was a Raspberry Rain. I seriously recommend both of them to anyone!
As you can see, my nose got burnt that day! HAHA:
Our views behind us:
We hardly had to wait for our sushi. It didnt disappoint! Ill definitely be back in July!
After we were done eating, we headed out to catch a monorail to the MK to get catch a bus back to Pop! When we got off at the MK, I realized that it was almost time for Wishes to start! We stopped right outside the gates with the Castle in clear view. It was such a great spot!
And..the FINALE:
Once we saw the finale, we headed to the bus stop. It was great because we beat the crowd! We were the second group in line! The little girl and boy in front of us kept us entertained while we waited for a bus because they were making funny faces and then theyd laugh really hard. It was cute!
When we made it back to Pop and into our room, we saw this on the bed:
Another signed picture from Mickey and Minnie! There was also a photopass card with a 20% off deal if we order online! Such a nice surprise from the Resort! With the excitement of our surprise, we drank some more champagne and watched Stacey on t.v. before falling asleep.
~Up next:
Our first TS breakfast in a LONG time, and our Epcot daywill we make it around the World without getting drunk?!
