Our Magical WDW Adventure ~ 23 Days of Fun, Food, Cocktails... London Trip 2/8

But there is one restaurant I am really hoping to try next time, if only I can convince Nick

Now we have thought about trying Victoria and Albert's a few times, particularly on our upcoming visit. However, I am a fussy eater, particularly when it comes to meat, so the menu is not the most appealing for me. But we really want to go there for the experience, and Nick would love the food, so will probably go on our next visit.

Ya know what...you and Nick should do a Platinum package for three of your days! The package that includes V & A's as one of your dining restaurants. It also includes tours and recreation. For the ticket just get a one day base and use those three days for your dinner shows, V & A'a, and two credit places like CA Grill, Narcossees and such. You guys love the tours right? And you love trying these new places? I've priced the plan before at POP CENTURY and you could do three days in this super deluxe grand plan for what you'd pay for 3 days at say, the Poly with a basic dining! Look into it. You also get tickets to Cirque Du Soleil too. I think it comes with a Photopass too!

Do you know what I have looked at the Platinum package a few times and thought how amazing it was but never even bothered looking at the price as I thought it would be way to high. But I just looked and it wasn't half as bad as I thought (although still a lot of money obviously). And like you said if we stayed at a Value then it wouldn't be much more than staying at the Poly. I wouldn't know where to start though with what we would do, there is so much included, and so much we would love to do. And yes we love tours, Nick loves golf, I would love the spa and Cirque etc. Have you ever done it before?

No...when my kids get older and me and Sidney can go alone we will! (Because of the tours...they can't do most of them..age limits and all.) But for you two it would be perfect! Even if you sacrificed your dream resort and went to a value (which are not that bad plus you'd never be in the room with all this fun stuff you'd be doing...) the money ends up being close to the same. Personally I'd rather have all that fun stuff to do than the nicer resort. You two would get your money out of this for sure! You love all that extra stuff. Yeah, you'd be busy as all get out but it would be a blast! And all meals and such are one credit...you can eat anywhere you want three times a day! If you did a 3 day package you could always use day four for some of that dining too. That way you'd get four dinners...looking at what ya'll like to do and the places you eat it just fits perfect! Here I am throwing off all your plans, sorry, but it just seems perfect for ya'll.

Disney Dreams...
... Part 6

This is probably my biggest and most extravagant Disney Dream, but one I don't think will happen too soon

Disney Dream Number Six...

DVC.png

We did a DVC tour with Mum and Dad in 2006 and instantly fell in love with the beautiful accommodations and the whole concept of the club. And I love the fact that it will pretty much guarantee us a Disney World vacation every 1-2 years whatever :cloud9:. Nick and I have talked about it a bit and we know we will buy into it eventually, but it wont be in the foreseeable future unfortunately. We love the look of all the DVC resorts, but our favorite and the one we think we would both like to buy into is...

Bay Lake Tower's just look amazing. Not only the accommodation's themselves but the amazing location. The mix of DVC and the Magic Kingdom area and view is the best choice by far.

Love the DVC idea! You guys should go for it, you love Disney so much! :cool1:
I have to say that OneTreeHillAddict has an incredible idea! Wow, that would give you and Nick some real VIP treatment and fun! I am going to be quite interested to see if you do something with this thought..... :woohoo:

Yes I think the Plantinum Plan would be a great idea, and definitely one to look in to more for the future. We would need to wait until the exchange rate goes up though as we would be paying so much for it it wouldn't really be worth it.

DVC!!!!!! You should definitely buy into it some day. I love being in DVC. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Heyyyy I'm so behind but your London trip looks so beautiful! The parks and all are gorgeous. Glad to hear your guys had such a good time :goodvibes

Your DVC Disney dream is definitelyyyyy one of mine too! One day...:cloud9:

ADR's... Part 4

Well today I was finally able to book our final ADR, breakfast at O'hana on our last day. Again we had no problem getting the time and date we wanted and had another very nice CM on the phone. So now all our ADR's are booked, and hopefully by the end of the week our tours will too. Then I can post the updated copy of our itinerary.

Now on the whole I have been pretty happy with the ADR booking process this year. I have to admit all the changes they made did really annoy me, after all I like to have everything planned out as far out as possible, so the new 90 day rule isn't ideal. And the system seemed rather confusing too, I really wasn't sure when I could actually book. However once I could finally book, on the whole I was pleased with the CM's I spoke to, they were generally really nice, and 1 even made some recommendations. However, when I phoned up yesterday I was very upset and annoyed with the CM I spoke to and her rudeness and attitude. When I booked the second lot of ADR's, like I said before, I thought I could only book the last 3 of my first hotel reservation but the very nice CM said I could book the ones for my Poly reservation too under my first reservation, apart from O'hana as it was 11 days out. She also told me I could book O'hana tomorrow, great. I had to phone back again to book The Wave as I had forgotten, and another CM again said it was fine to book under my first hotel reservation and again confirmed I could book O'hana the next day. So I phoned up to book O'hana the next day to be greeted by a rather rude CM who just would not listen to what I had to say. She told me that the second lot of reservations shouldn't have been made and when I tried to ask her something she just started going on and on about how she plays by the rules and does everything by the book and every time I tried to say something she just kept saying the same thing. Eventually I managed to get a word in, to tell her ok I understand the rule and understand I can't book O'hana yet, but just wanted to check my other reservations were still ok and that they would still be valid. Instead of just telling me yes, which was the final outcome, she spent about 5 minutes going on about how they shouldn't have been taking again. I was so frustrated, I had been waiting on hold for nearly 20 minutes to book an ADR which I couldn't actually book, and was then literally shouted at like a kid on the phone for something that was not my fault. After she eventually confirmed our reservations were still valid (and then had to add that they shouldn't be again), she then put on a nice voice and said "Is there anything else I can help you with?"... Um what, no thanks, not from you Mrs :sad2:. I just really hope that when we do get there that they are all ok.

UGH, what's up with Disney Dining?! I just called to ask a question about the cancellation policy at Signature restaurants and the lady was nasty too. I was all nice and happy (I haven't gotten to call Disney Dining in a year and a half!) and she was just rude and didn't even say goodbye. After I said "thanks" she just hung up. Not disney-like at all. At least all your ADRs are booked! I can't wait to see the final itinerary :woohoo:

I know, I think they need to have some training sessions. Train some in manners and just generally being nice, and then everyone in the policies so everyone knows and plays by the same rules. She kept making it sound like my fault, even though I had said to both CM's that I checked out of POFQ on a certain date and changed to the Poly and they told me its not a problem. Last year I phoned to make some ADR's and it took the woman over an hour to make them. She couldn't understand me, even though I spoke really slow and clear, and everyone else has always understood me fine. And she was really hard to understand too and kept repeating things a million times. Unfortunately we didn't have Skype then either so our phone bill that month was absolutely huge :scared1:

That's crazy! In the past I've always gotten amazing CM's who were friendly and so nice. I was surprised this morning!

Not fun!! I'm sorry you got a rude CM! It is crazy how some CM's get themselves in a mood and then take it out on you. :sad2: I hope she is the last one you ever encounter.

I would LOVE to buy into the DVC, but DH would never let me do it. "There are so many other places to see!" :confused3 I know that you can exchange points for other places but just by doing some research on the DVC boards (I can dream...), that's not a great use of the points.

Me too. Luckily it was the only rude CM we have had, and it was balanced out by the brilliant CM's we had the other day. Those 2 made me really excited about going

Have you looked at the Adventures by Disney, would that be any better of a deal for traveling with DVC?

Oh I've had my share of the rude CMs from Disney Dining. I think it would be helpful if they were all trained in phone manners! I'm sure they are tired of explaining the new 90 day rule especially for those who don't read about it ahead of time etc. but when you hang up with the rude caller and get someone nice, be nice in return! Never had b'fast at O'hana's. Hmmmm... I still need a breakfast for our last day ...

No we haven't had breakfast there either but since were at the Poly already, and the food looks really good, we thought we would give it a try. We didn't really want to do another character meal, and don't really know Lilo and Stitch, but thought it would be a fun way to end our trip. You should go for it, I bet your kids would love it.
