Good Morning! Today I plan on getting the menus printed out for all our TS places and then put our planning binders together. I need to have them done soon!

I LOVE planning binders!! I love that I found a place where there are other people who love planning binders!!!

The only thing I am finding about it that I HATE is that since I have 3 others to make besides my own, its giving me a headache! I am getting confused with all the ADR's! Atleast we are planning on the same places to eat not 4 different places I am almost done. They arent fancy by any means but itll do the job!

I am thinking I want to start orcloser to our trip a Dining review! But how the heck am I gonna remember everything we have eaten ?!

I havent updated in a while so you guys have a treat! LOL I have physically given myself a headache more than once I am making myself crazy and it scares me! I am actually thinking about small trips here and there(maybe do MNSSHP) but a BIG blow out in 2017 for my DD#2 turning 13 and my DD#1 turning 18 and me turning 35 ! Those are ALL major bdays to celebrate! LOL

Anyway back to this trip I have been driving myself silly trying to fit EVERYTHING in. We just cant. I really wanted another AK day, not this time
So all day yesterday I was trying to cut out things and add signature meals..... but in the end about 9pm(I started at 8am) I went back to my original schedule EVEN after cancelling all the ADR's and they were still there! I think it is meant to be this way
So this morning I got the bright idea to add the AK day, add yak and yeti but in the end, went back to our original plan and and it feels good. I am at the point now that I am going to keep it. We will just start a list of the 'must do's' for next trip...not specifics BUT stuff like, 2 AK days(one being and evening to see AK at night) and not so much MK time as kids will be older, and we will do US/AoA too!

I think some things are just meant to be how they are. I will say that after listening to everyones opinions on the DxDP, I think we will try it. If it doesnt work, next time we wont do it. I do know that when the kids are older we wont need so many characters but this time, its all about the kids

The meals we have planned now are not JUST for the food but for the atmosphere...we dont have down time planned at the resort but I am looking into fitting that in. I would love to do it but we are not take afternoons off kind of ppl instead, we will be taking a break from the parks at lunch. Most of our ADR's are pre park breakfast and a lunch in the middle of the day and an after park dinner. SO no missing park time except about an hour to an hour and a half which is what we would be missing if we did a dinner at 5ish and a CS lunch! ALL in all I am excited about the DxDP and will have a FULL report for my Dining Review

Reading that just made me breath out of sigh of relief. For you, for me, for all of us who have been tying ourselves up in knots over trying to make the perfect trip! It will all be good and Disney will still be there next year, 5 years from now. And we can just keep adding things to do and see and we will find out if DxDP is truly something that we will love.

I am planning another small trip with just me & DD for Dec 2013 and then from there we will see but ironically, we too are planning a big 2017 trip. My youngest sister who is expecting her 3rd baby this Dec told me she wants to go when her youngest is 5. That trip will be soo much fun to plan. She's my closest sister, we're only 18 months apart and our children will be 5, 6 1/2, 8 1/2 and 9 for the trip. Those numbers just sound perfect to me!!!

So let me tell you what just happened.... FOr some reason my online ADR's said I had conflicting ressies....I didnt though. I couldnt get sci fi for 11 so I did 6 and 5 well one was in mine and another in moms but my phone number.... yea it was conflicting so I called dining to change it... well we started going over my other adrs to see if there was any other conflicts. The lady kept saying just answer my question ma'am then Id say no its ok I dont want all the ressies under my name.... she said just say yes or no ma'am... she asked about Coral reef. then started changing it to my number then said 'uh oh what did I do'... I said nevermind and hung up...checked my adr's and she cancelled Coral reef!!!! She cancelled Sci-Fi! I have been typing like a bat out of u know where to make sure she didnt cancel any others I am soooooo mad right now! I FINALLY just now got most of my adrs back at diff times though all my hard work!!!!!! I am sooooo mad right now but now 2 hours later I FINALLY got things ok again I dont know what to think right now


So that ^^^^ happened earlier today....LOVELY isnt it??? I am kind of sad right now because some of our ressies had to get moved back a little bit. I am trying really hard to say its ok. It just makes me mad!
I guess it teaches me NOT to mess with my ADR's ANYMORE

So right now we are back to where we were 2 days ago... my plan...that I love....even with Mama Melrose's on there. The only thing Im having a hard time with is Im wondering about tips

I would imagine the tip thing might be a little difficult unless you know right now exactly what you're going to eat. You could look at the menus and get a rough idea but when you get there you don't know if you're going to order apps and desserts for sure, do you? What you will be drinking? The only ones that will be easy are the meals that are one set price, like CRT.

Do you already have a plan for who you are paying for? Like who will be on your checks? Since you have such a large group I didn't know if you had any "deals" made with your family members.

Not knowing drove me crazy so I made the deal with my mom that I would treat her for the entire trip, airfare, food, hotel, tickets for everything and the extra stuff, firework cruise, cabana if she would just pay the tips as we go along. I have no problem with pre-paid expenses but once you get into the ??? money I fall apart. I told her that she would probably have close to $1000 in tips. I figured $100 for tips/day and then if it's a bit more she won't be shocked and if it's less than she'll be pleasantly surprised. We'll have to see how close I end up being after the trip is done. I will have her keep track so that I can plan for my next trip better.

Right now I have estimated for me, DH and the 2 younger kiddos.... $500 and thats rounding up on the $16 tip for the breakfast buffets. I think I will plan $550 and see where that goes. I will have back up money of course. I havent decided yet how much help I will give my dad. My granparents will handle their own and my brother and his gf the same thing. You can estimate the buffets pretty close. Of course I have to do 18% so I just use that and round up. SO I get a pretty good idea. In 2010 our tip was always $20 some times $18 or $21 but almost always I gave them a $20 bill. I am thinking most of these tips will be about $25ish... so we will see how close I am. I will be keeping track so I can report back and know for next time

We are a party of 9 4 adults 5 children, we did have the ressies and changed to qs this year, not sure how much tips would be thought around 75.00 a night, if we go next year the baby will be 3, so want to do ts, and just one a day. I am glad that you could fix your ressies. We have two one at T Rex and one at Mamas. We decided to take the qs and stay an extra 2 days. I really do not eat a lot so I am not sure what to do for next year.

I know how you feel! I am driving myself crazy trying to fit in everything (parades, Wishes, F!, IllumiNations, etc.) as well as eating everywhere we want to eat!!! We aren't doing the dining plan, so I can't go too crazy with ADRs, but there are certain places we want to try.

And I love planning binders, too!! I have a HUGE file on my computer with Disney stuff to go into our trip binder. I haven't printed anything off yet, though! I guess I have to save something for the weeks leading up to our trip! lol

I want to fit in a lot of special experiences and meals, I want to hit most of the rides, etc. I need to start realizing now that I can't do it all and that it won't be perfect, even with all the planning!

Yea I think I realize that now. Its just no matter how I rearrange my ADR's, there just isnt room for everything. GFC got the boot last night for Via Napoli which is fine because DH said thats just 'our' place LOL so we are trying other things. MM is the next to go for BOG (gotta switch our 50's to our DHS day) BUT I dont want to give it up! I WANT the reserved seats for F!!!!!!!!!

Once again...I'm sooooo happy we have the qsdp....no stress over ADR's.

Last week I saw I could get Cindy's an hour before the park opened on our first day. I was shocked. I got up at 5 am on our beach vacation to call in ADR's for our last trip and didn't get that early. So we toyed with making the ADR. Well if we do that then it's only $xx to upgrade to regular dining. But then I have to make all kinds of ADR's. Well...it is doable because free dining hasn't been announced...so I can probably get all kinds of stuff...but then we have to add tips...


Wait a min...I already did touring plans and we don't have enough time to do everything we want to do with the storytellers, cp, ect. Um...no..we'll just save the money we would have spend to upgrade and pay for tips and make another trip that much sooner.

PS...sorry if that didn't make a whole lot of sense...didn't sleep well in the pciu last night. They are moving us to a regular room today so I should get better sleep tonight...and maybe even a nap this afternoon.
