Our Magical Mulligan Trip!!

Ooooh, aaaah! This isn't really helping with my decision process re: a hotel for our May trip, though... I need to be convinced that the Poly is way out of my financial zone!

Ya know, it IS nice...I'll be the first to admit it. And yes, we had our problems/issues with the room, etc...but it's an awful lot of money. I'd imagine even with an AP rate, it's still pretty high. And you know what, we really weren't "THERE" that much to enjoy a lot of stuff. Sure - the weather was cold, so no pool time...bummer. That would have been nice.

The big thing for ME personally, was having the Neverland Club there. When we stay at SSR, that will be difficult, as we'll have to take him to one of the Deluxe's for a night out and with bus hopping, etc...it would be a pain, but I'm really thinking that I'll enjoy SSR a bit more than I did the Poly, but we'll see...And the beach was nice...being able to sit and watch the fireworks and the EWP is a big

It's just really expensive...I think I'd rather spend some of that cash elsewhere if you know what I mean. Did I talk you out of it? I may be talking myself back into it...I just don't know... All I can say is we left feeling like we totally didn't get our money (or points) worth! We'd have been pretty mad if we spent cash to stay there.

Listen, you know how I feel about the AS's... never, never, never again! I don't know what it is - I've stayed at plenty of budget hotels and been satisfied - but I just can't stand these places. I'm interested to hear more about your experience, though...

I feel bad - I feel like I'm bashing the place and I only stayed one night...It really wasn't THAT bad, but what's that old saying about first impressions? I'll get to it soon, but I won't be in a hurry to stay there again, that's for sure...

I've always enjoyed U of E! Wish I could get a certain someone in there... maybe someday!

Michael really liked the dinosaurs but commented more than once that it was too loud. BUT on the other hand, he's a bit sensitive to certain sounds...the "perks" of being a preemie I guess.

AND on our non-Disaholic parents! I'm quite familiar with THAT look, thank you.

My DS doesn't play videos, either, and was equally clueless at the Innoventions games. DOn't worry - they don't knwo the difference - they'll have fun regardless! Just wait till you hear about Zippy the Monster.

Oooh...can't wait to hear about Zippy! Poor DS was saying "Dad...Dad...Did you see me??" and Tony was telling him you should've done this, should've done that"....Ah well, boys....next time!

Werever does one get one of those? I could totally use one!

Hmmm...not sure WHERE you can get one of those! I would NOT want one that looked like that living in MY house!!

I'm so bummed your TR is coming to an end! I've really enjoyed reading it! We must be related in another universe. I made my family endure the same exact torture with the Disney Visa picture line - twice, and all of the PhotoPass stops. They tried to rebel, but I always won! I'm glad I got our PhotoPass CD, but I don't plan on buying any pictures from them. Sorry to hear about your Christmas card fiasco! I hope you get it resolved soon!

That volcano pool picture is awesome. I hope we can stay at the Poly someday! The closest I've gotten so far is eating at Kona Cafe and watching Wishes from the boat dock. Maybe next time... sigh...

Don't cry too much as you write your last chapter...

AH HA...I've been waiting for someone to ask, so I can go on a somewhat off-topic RANT!!

Here's the scoop...When we got home, I ordered Disney Christmas photo cards from the Photopass website (on 12/13) using the pic of all of us from the MVMCP. I ordered 60 cards, used some really cool, but dorky wording to match the dorky picture...you know, "Wishing you a magical holiday season", blah blah blah....And I paid an additional $40 for express shipping.

After a couple of emails inquiring as to their whereabouts and told, "they'll be there soon", they finally arrived, via Priority Mail, on the day AFTER Christmas. The worse part, is that they're BLANK...ok, well the picture is there, but there's a large white blank box where the dorky message is supposed to be. I'm FURIOUS!!!

They have yet to respond to my half dozen emails demanding that they fix their screw up....I'm furious. I think I'm going to call the Disney Visa people and dispute the charge for the cards...

So, now I'm thinking I'll have to bite the bullet and hand write all 60 cards out. I've done the typically dorky "year in review" letter to go along with them all, as my friends and family are scattered all over the country, and we've moved, etc...and now I just have to get working on my cards...

See - aren't you glad you asked???

I paid $99 for it, but totally worth it if you add up the cost of buying individual pictures. DH was catching up on reading my TR last night and said he didn't realize how sensitive I was about getting those Photopass pictures taken and that next time we can do as many as I want!!! I won! I won!!!

The photopass photographers have cards...you can get one from the first photog who takes your picture and continue using that one - just hand it to the photographers, etc...

On your last day, give that card to the people at the camera shop...I've always gone to the one at Epcot, but maybe you can get them in other parks too...they put little text and borders on your pics, etc...it's fun...you can buy pics from them, or you can buy the CD there...or when you get home, you can go on the photopass website and order any of that stuff....

It's the next best thing to Fastpasses...we finally have FAMILY PICTURES instead of me always being the one behind the camera!!

I wore him down...he couldn't take it anymore...I'm going to try and get everything booked tomorrow and if all goes according to plan, we fly into Sanford early Friday evening...landing at 5:30-ish and we'll be leaving WDW around noon on Monday to head back to the airport...Whatcha doing next weekend????

Now, I'm even MORE in love! Why or why don't I listen to my DIS friends???!!!

I just had to say hello and tell you how much I enjoyed reading both of your trip reports. I must be a bit sadistic because truth be told, I liked the first one a bit more than this one. Maybe it is because it reminds me of my great idea to invite my huband's sister and brother in law to Puerto Rico with us. Yikes! You think you really know someone until you go on vacation with her. There is not enough rum in the world to make that a fun experience. Trust me, I know because I drank about a million mojitos and her company never became any more palatable.

By the way, I am also an Orange County New York girl. We must be about the same age. I graduated from high school in 1986.

Bummer! That figures. Ah well, yes - you're right...we'll have plenty of other visits!

I booked us a studio at SSR. I tried for a Boardwalk view BWV studio, but no luck...probably a good thing...all the other DVC's were pretty much full...for my "category" anyway...so I took a studio to use less points, etc...

Looking forward to trying SSR though...and of course, trying to pick a date for the fall (and still seriously thinking about a quick trip at the end of August to introduce D_Mama to Lapu Lapu's!!

Ok, well if your plans change, call me, otherwise I'll "talk" you soon!!
