Our little thread of BIG Resort changes*OLD THREAD link on last pg. to new thread!

Good Morning! Good Morning!

I'm late :upsidedow However I've been up since 6ish....had to get DS11 up and ready. He's helping my aunt with yard work today. Excited he is not ;)

Looks like DetTigsGal is leaving next week for the GF....here ya go! Happy packing!!!!

So happy to be of assistance my friend;) Know what you mean about it being closer to other parks. It seems a bit far removed....but still AWESOME!!!!

Thanks! And yep....gotta get this stuff grown out!!! When this Southern heat kicks in and we're in the pool half the time, a ponytail is the way to go:thumbsup2 Hope you're feeling better!!!

I agree!!! Awesome mod!!!! Can't wait to share my pics... :rolleyes1

Feeling better today???

Most definitely!!!! I don't change my resort so much....I just upgrade and add days  DH is use to it after years of aggravation. Now it's just expected :teeth:

Thanks! Nice to be home....kind of  We stayed at the Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe. Lots of fun for all ages.

Since we live fairly close, we can drive. If we had to throw in airfare, it might be a different story. One year, we did 4 trips....and dare I say this....( it lost some of its magic ) Ok...I said it....no flaming....

I'm probably not a good one to give you advice.....my family lives for the TS restaurants....weird, I know. Love, love, love Ohana!!!! Love Kona, too....especially their crème brule!!! BOG for dinner is on my bucket list. So....how much help was I???

Ok....did I tell you that we love TS restaurants??? :rolleyes1 We liked both of those restaurants, but then it's very subjective, ya know. Some people love Liberty Tree Tavern....but me, not so much. Again.....no help, was I??

You're too kind, sweet Janet. The kids were not in the mood to stop, get off the golf cart and make pictures! Of course that's not an option when traveling with yours truly ;) 1000 pictures just isn't enough....

Hey there, Shelia!!

I need to stop procrastinating and get some household chores done myself. Faith and Jesse are still fast asleep....thank goodness.

:cool1:

Mousemommy Hey there!

Coffee is getting low....must make a run to the kitchen for some more, then it's back to doing nothing. That is until the little ones arise ...

Heather

Helllloooooooo Heather!!!! :wave2:

RC'ers!!! I am sooooo giddy!!! I think CR Atrium CL will be perfect for my family and I am sooooo excited!!!! Now, hurry up Disney and release those rates and word on military discount so I can make this happen!!!! pixiedust::hyper:pixiedust::hyper:

I love having everything all under one roof!!! One of the things I loved about WL. The more research I do about CR, the more I am falling in love with the idea...

Also, did you guys use the pool at all? Was it shaded at all? When we visited it, it seemed like it's out there in the sun, but probably at some point during the day, the tower shades it, right? :scratchin

See and we felt WL was still spread out even though under one roof. And Contempo Cafe is so open and I think much better choices than Roaring Forks.

Believe it or not we did not swim, my kids are so park intensive. There were some trees to provide some shade (that I remember when we walked through) and there are also cabanas available to rent for the day :rolleyes1

Heather

I feel like I can accomplish so much when they are sleeping ::yes:: Now I am just waiting for them to wake up so I can strip the beds.

Hot coffee sounds like a plan, my mug is empty :upsidedow

I really think you will love it! I honestly do not have a single complaint about CR! But it is a long time between now and next August, and we know you and your RC addiction :rotfl2:

Pas -- any changes since yesterday??
Not officially...can't do it. BUT the plan calls for an Orlando 1 night cheapie hotel when we arrive, and then checking in at Portofino....6 nights CL. DH says I can go to WDW as much as I want, but he and Brandon are staying onsite :confused3 then off to the beach:beach:

We'd sat down and ordered, first the drinks then the mains. Had a lovely and not too OTT waitress named Janice. The drinks arrived when I'd heard a slightly odd sound coming from the table across from us. Hubs quickly looks at me and says, "Please. Whatever you do, don't look across the room." But then I heard it again and me being me, I looked. It's what I thought I was hearing -- a grown man retching and all the wonderful sights which go with such sounds. That split second glimpse. Eesh. The waitress high-tailed it out of the room when it was happening. (Seriously, nurses are god-like creatures. Lookin' at you Jeanette. I don't know how you lot can see what you see on a daily basis and are still able to eat.) Miss M thankfully sat there clueless and ate her meal. The only tables which knew what had happened were ours and the table to the right of us. They gave us TSM passes for our pain and suffering.
OK my two cents...a grown man...really dude, get up and go to the potty. Sorry, but that in a pet peeve. I see people throw up on the floor when there is a garbage can RIGHT THERE!!!! :crazy2:

OK, sorry....HRH was napping in her stroller at the gift shop for Star Wars while we waited for everyone to come off the ride. She woke up and pulled an exorcist, I think she was 2 maybe. I felt so bad...I asked them for paper towels and quickly cleaned up....yuck. I'm pretty desensitized to vomit, et al....lots of practice :rotfl:

Hmmm...tough call! I think I'd go AKL though with a King. :-) or CSR business class King (if that exists). All you can drink Sangria!! (As long as you don't go commando in the parks and can enjoy some of the business class offerings). I would love a long weekend at Disney sans kids...heck, maybe even sans DH too! Lol. But I am dreaming...

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
CSR BC King does exist, and AKL has limited Kings I think...but DH and I would gladly do separate beds :lmao:

Nevermind...DH just read some of the crowd / heat reports from that time and changed his mind!! BTW it was his idea to look into it...not mine!! LOL!!
:lmao:

An official Happy birthday today to DD9 princess:

Pas, maybe make it an all Universal trip in July; bring the girls to Disney in December? ::yes:: say around 12/4?
Funny you mention it BFF, as I've been checking out airfare for December....

Janet I told Bella that I lost 16 and she gained my loss. :rotfl2:

She never ate her dinner last night, I guess she was upset at being " fat" so this morning I started to introduce her new " prescription" food first 2 days 3/4 old 1/4 new and she gobbled it down today. :) Over the course of 7 days slowly increasing the new to old ratio each day. Fingers crossed the transition goes smoothly.
:rotfl2: Hope Bella adjusts well, and hope she stops finding what you lose....

Jeanette - dont worry about the GPA, you are doing an amazing job! Hope all is well in your world
Melissa
 Thanks Melissa. Things are good. Kids have more time together...so LOTS of battles. HRH has a psychology eval (second opinon as the child study team has peeved me off) when we return (7 month waiting list..they just called) but this team is the best around....otherwise no new news.

I'll be away for a few days, we're off to a wedding. Should be fun! I'll check in when we get back, and try to get updated on the most recent resort changes!
Enjoy Ginny!!!!!

Ginny, where are you when I need you?! DH has had me calling WDTC daily trying to get CL. I usually never call from my iPhone and must have been in vacation mode when I accidentally dialed 1-800 instead of 1-407 and ended up on some adult chat line:rotfl2:. After calling daily, I did get CL just now for WL:goodvibes, which probably won't surprise any of you that I changed to Old Faithful.

We have an "ADR" here soon at the marina so I have to run. Happy hour is calling:beach::drinking1
:rotfl2: Hope there was no charge for that accidental call :rotfl: So CR BLV and OFC split??? :flower3:

The BWI is in major running for our resort of choice for youngest DS's grad trip in Jan 2015/ thinking of making it near the end of Jan - my 45th bday will be on the 29th and I can't think of a better place I'd rather celebrate!!!

Marie
:thumbsup2 Sound great to me Marie!!!

HeatherLove our daily pic!!!:goodvibes

Candace You are SO ending up at the Polynesian!!!:beach:

Helllloooooooo Heather!!!! :wave2:

CR is a great resort!!! Of course I say that about all deluxes :upsidedow....but especially the monorail resorts. Just something about having a view of the lake and castle!

I feel like I can accomplish so much when they are sleeping ::yes:: Now I am just waiting for them to wake up so I can strip the beds.

Hot coffee sounds like a plan, my mug is empty :upsidedow

Kids are up, so my day begins;) Thank goodness Sofia is on Disney Jr...that will occupy them for a short while!

Hmmmm....:scratchin I had a sneaky feeling this would happen. When is your class done??? Mine is finished tomorrow!!!!

Now back to my POR & MK Trip Report....trying to get it started so I can replace the AKL/Dream link :teeth:

Jeanette Everytime I see you post about staying at the Portofino my heart skips a beat! I need to go do some research for a spring trip or next fall after all I do have JB credits and points to use ;)

Wow! Everybody's been so quiet this morning! Everything ok out there in RC land?? :-)

Happy HAPPY Birthday to Jen's Gorgeous and Lovely 9 Year Old!
:cheer2::cheer2:pixiedust:pixiedust::cheer2: :cheer2:

Give her a HUGE hug from us.

Sue: How'd it go at the docs? :goodvibes

Miss, OMG with that PT 50s story!! Hey with keeping with the theme, surprised the CM didn't make him clean up his OWN mess!!

Bahahaha, I'm dyin' over that. :lmao: She was too busy hiding!

Miss, bring him along! You then are free to do the ToT with us!

 Would absolutely love to. Shame it's not at the END of October! Could couple it with a birthday/anniversary/birthday celebration.

Miss I am sure you are psychologically damaged for awhile! I would be!

I think it just added to the permanently addled state I live in.

Still undecided on where to stay in August. It will be either Sugarloaf or CR CL!!! I have run down the options with DH and that's where we are at. Thoughts???

CR! Seriously. We'd still be there if it weren't for the whole F&W thing (and the whole DHS-is-our-favorite-park thing.) Walk to-and-fro MK? Yeah. :thumbsup2 When is the construction due to be finished at GF anyhow? When we rode over for lunch at GF Cafe, it was an absolutely MASSIVE construction site. Can't believe how big those buildings are.

Have a great day everyone!

You too. Hope the shoulder starts to cooperate for ya.

Miss Yuk at 50's I have to say we did HBD in 1997 and it was just ok but we decided to try it again last December and it was one of the best meals we had and would Definately give it a try if I were you. Much better than 50's PT in regards to food, servers, and atmosphere!

Oh, thanks! Were there any standout dishes? Been curious about that famous grapefruit cake I see mentioned everywhere. (Always with the desserts and me. :rolleyes1 )

Jen - it was a good thought while it lasted. We have not WDW in July, but did do US/IoA one year and it was BRUTAL!!!! The heat and the crowds were just intolerable. I think you should stick with Boston for your summer adult trip Sorry DH toyed with your emotions. Oh and of course to DD!!!! Hope she has a wonderful day

I can't even begin to imagine how that was... June was enough to drive me insane. :upsidedow

I really think you will love it! I honestly do not have a single complaint about CR! But it is a long time between now and next August, and we know you and your RC addiction

:rotfl: This woman speaketh the truth.

OK my two cents...a grown man...really dude, get up and go to the potty. Sorry, but that in a pet peeve. I see people throw up on the floor when there is a garbage can RIGHT THERE!!!!

:rotfl2: That is EXACTLY what hubs and I kept saying to each other. How -- at that age -- do you not know what was about to happen? :confused3 His wife was absolutely appalled; I don't know how she didn't just get up and leave. The rest of us wanted to.

I'm pretty desensitized to vomit, et al....lots of practice

Awww, poor kiddo. Her momma's a certified pro.

Now back to my POR & MK Trip Report....trying to get it started so I can replace the AKL/Dream link

Oh nooooo. We're going to lose the link to my favorite AKL TR! You guys did the POR - Royal Room, right? We stayed there for a short stay last autumn.

Wow! Everybody's been so quiet this morning! Everything ok out there in RC land??

40 Days?! :woohoo:

:wave2: and :grouphug: to everyone I missed!

Just got back from buying smelly soaps and random other things I don't really need from B&BW. :rolleyes1

Wow! Everybody's been so quiet this morning! Everything ok out there in RC land?? :-)

No kidding, right?! What in the world?! Been working on my new TR... when in actuality, I should be working on Statistics :scratchin....I have my last test tomorrow.

Oh nooooo. We're going to lose the link to my favorite AKL TR! You guys did the POR - Royal Room, right? We stayed there for a short stay last autumn.

Yes, mam....POR it was! Royal room for our Royal Princess Faith ;)....and as Stephen likes to say...."a royal pain in the butt". Brother/sisterly love :teeth:

Just got back from buying smelly soaps and random other things I don't really need from B&BW. :rolleyes1

Always good deals there....you can never have too much. Plus that stuff makes great gifts.

Jenn.....:bday: to your DD!!!!

Now I'm off to cheer practice :cheer2: with Faith. Hubby is out of town, so fast-food is calling my name!!

Jen Happy Birthday to your DD!!!! (I've got one of those 9 year olds myself....next Disney trip, she will be a Disney adult! :faint: )

Went to put Miss M to bed and come back to a bunch of this: popcorn:: Love you ladies. :rotfl2: :grouphug:

MM, we love it at 50's too! Just can't see us going back for a while... quite a while.

It was Sunday evening and we walked right up without a reservation and were seated almost immediately -- this should have been the warning sign.

:rolleyes2 It's what I thought I was hearing -- a grown man retching and all the wonderful sights which go with such sounds. The only tables which knew what had happened were ours and the table to the right of us. They gave us TSM passes for our pain and suffering. :lmao:

I think the worst part other than the actual SEEING it part was: they had a man with superhuman powers come in and clean it up -- then sat another party down at the table! It immediately made me think of what must have happened at OUR table before.

The evening was thoroughly topped off with a little girl at the table kitty-corner in the opposite direction falling off her seat and slamming onto the floor face-first. :faint: She was fine in the end but oooooof. The Dark Side was out in force that evening... I'm surprised we made it out of there in one piece. :scared:

From that evening onward, anything remotely nausea-inducing or even the slightest bit on the gross side has henceforth been referred to as "a bit 50's Primetime" by hubbo and myself. :rotfl2: Humans will be humans but needless to say, we need a new table service restaurant to try in DHS. :upsidedow

o wow, that sounds like it was an evening. The last daycare I worked I, I was always the one called in to clean up when kids got "sick" like that. Usually, as long as I don't see the actual act, or especially hear it, I am fine. I just pretend it's smelly fake vomit.

Wookie, I have a Town & Country van too ... had to get 4 new tires in the fall...luckily there was a promo to get $70 back. And woohoo for today being your last class!!

I absolutely love my T&C. I didn't realize until after our trip this last June, that we could play two different movies in it at the same time. There is just so much room in it, that it is perfect for road trips. We put down the smallest part of the back bench seat when we drove to WDW and put the ice chest there. The rest of the luggage fit in the back "trunk" area. Then the youngest DS sat in the non-folded down part of the back bench seat (because he wanted to for some odd reason), the oldest DS sat in one of the 2nd row captain's chairs, and we put the snacks in the other one.

I still name my cars. For the longest time I had a Ford Explorer named "Betty", because, ya know, "Betty Ford". Also, I used to have a white Saturn named "Wilma" (because at the time we had a fish named Fred, and since Wilma wore a white dress, I thought the name fit and wanted to keep with Flintsons' names at the time) I had a different name for this van, but the DH changed it. I had named it Natalie, because our last name is Swann, it's a black minivan, and Natalie Portman played the lead in the movie "Black Swan". I don't like to use the same name for vehicles, because it's kind of like giving the same name to all of your kids. Well the DH changed it to Betty, because of the song "Black Betty".

Good Morning! Good Morning!

Heather

That is such a beautiful picture!! One of these days, the DH and I will stay there, in the main building CL, just the two of us. Hmmm, I wonder if I could convince him to do that for our 20th wedding anniversary....

Just got back from buying smelly soaps and random other things I don't really need from B&BW. :rolleyes1

Going into an actual B&BW is a waste of time for me since my favorite scent, Cucumber Melon, is only offered online now.

OMG, I shouldn't have looked at their site just now. I had no idea, they were having a huge sale. The DH is gonna kill me. I went to Wal Mart late last night to get something for JM (he's been having "tummy issues") I ended up buyin 8 t-shirts for myself for our WDW trip.

Miss Not sure if anyone would call what I had at HBD standout or not.

I had the Cobb salad for my app, I had a chicken entree which was very tasty and the grapefruit cake for dessert which was yum :)
I forget what Bob had.

Yeah!! I think I have ADRs set!! Even have enough "room" to add a walk up lunch at Kona if we want and/or a walk up for breakfast at The Wave... :-) switched out our 50's dinner for Brown Derby...excited to try the grapefruit cake. ;-)

Hello everyone! I have to apologize to everyone right off the bat....I simply cannot keep up with you all and how great you are at keeping track of all the posts and people and quoting... I read every single post and get confused with the screen name and real names....:confused3 So I'm going to hold off on all that quoting and be kinda general in my posts til I really get to know who is who and what is what! Hope that's okay with everyone! :worship: You are all too good at this!

Home from work and my shoulder is ugh...but I have ice (actually frozen "medicinal" peas....:rotfl:) on my neck/shoulder. And I am blissfully numb. Thanks for all your concern! It's so nice...

I love hearing all the switching and planning ..and in that spirit...I am contemplating something. When you check out of the resort on that last day, and are going to another resort hotel...can you stay on the checked out resort and enjoy it until you are ready to head to the next one? Thinking of staying at POP for a last night because we are up and out VERY early for the flight home. If I can hang out all day at AKL and then check in at the POP for the evening the night before we come home, I think I would do it! (Plus there's a big drop in the airfare if I extend it another day...) Just thinkin':)

You can enjoy your resorts facilities until midnight on your departure day. :goodvibes

Today is a beer for dinner kind of day. DD6 was testing me big time this morning and then continued to do so when I picked her up after work. DH is working late tonight but is constantly telling me that I am not strict or tough enough with her. So, I've been on my own with discipline tonight and it's rough.

My DD9 is such a good girl and honestly rarely acts out so it's hard for me to know what to do with a child that can be so defiant....it's so frustrating. I'd say that 90% of the time, DD6 is such a sweet little girl, but that 10% is so bad it makes me forget how good she normally is...

Sorry, Mommy problems...gonna continue my dinner :drinking1

Oh...this makes me happy Mousemommy....and here I go again.....:goodvibes:lmao:....My daughter was a toughie...Hang in there!

The "medicinal" peas comment had me laughing out loud. Too bad, I was already in class for the night. I hope they work and you aren't sore in the morning.

About the AKL question, I would assume you could do that, but you know what they say about assuming. Hopefully, someone else will have a better answer. My DH was thinking about going to DtD before we leave on our last day, and he was thinking about leaving the minivan at the AKL, taking the bus to DtD, and then back to AKL.

I have the same issue with my DH. He thinks I'm too hard on my oldest son. It's just he's normally so good, that when he acts out, the DH thinks I go overboard.

DH is out of town through Sunday (except for a brief overnight back at home tomorrow night), so...yoga pants, glass of wine, chick flick, and my iPad (to stay caught up of course). :-). It's gonna be a great night! :-)
