True, most of the worst construction is taking place this year, thru November. Ask yourself if you would be happy being there with some construction on going. Things to consider (which I'm sure you have already).. the rates are bound to sky rocket once the Poly is completed. If you have always wanted to stay there, it might be the time to do it. Would you need the feature pool in february? GCH hopefully will be finshed.

I'm still holding onto a Poly reservaton for August but have serious doubts since so much of the resort is affected at that time.

I'm with you..the Poly has always held the appeal to me over the CR or GF (not to say I don't like them, I do). The Poly has always been special.

Haha yes we will use lapu lapus straws! Not sure if we will use the pool depending on the weather. Our last trip to Disneyland in December it barely hit 70 degrees and we did go swimming anyways. Living in Michigan that was warm for us lol. Either way we go I'm sure it will be a blast!

LO is already tackling our stairs! Luckily we only have 2 sets of 2 so it's a lot less heart attack inducing than a full set. Still, I'd rather her stay level!!! Makes it hard to get anything done when I have to intercept her!

I remember those days.. sigh...my Sam was a little minx too.. Paul, well he stayed where his momma told him to!

I was so tired last night I fell asleep watching TV on sofa, then woke up and couldn't get back to sleep till 3am ugh. But it was a beautiful morning so I got up and went out for a paddle. Nothing like the ocean breeze to knock away the cobwebs!

Sounds heavenly! (the wine and the paddle.. course not at the same time )

They just opened up more Anna and Elsa FP times (past 5 and up to a half hour before park closing) so I snagged one for our first evening for the whole family, then snagged one for our last day just DD and me. Now to decide whether I keep that one or the one I have for the day before (at a much better time).

Congrats on scoring those A&P FP+! I'm glad Disney opened up the evening for booking.

I think I may belong here....

We are a family of 6. 3 are small children. We started out at POR before I ever knew anything about free dining. When that came out I jumped on the phone and switched to AoA family suites.
I talked it over with DH and decided to switch to BWI since it was only a few dollars more after we upgraded our dining at AoA.
Now we've found out about some big unanticipated expenses coming in the next few months so need to do this trip as cost effectively as possible. We are now in 2 rooms at POP upgraded to regular DDP.

I feel even crazier when I type it all out!

POP is a fun resort (and you will love the extra room! )

Not crazy, smart! We did 2 rooms at Pop, I actually started off at GF I think! My kids still talk about Pop and how they liked the pools! You most definitely belong here!

Still have those pix you sent of you guys at POP.

April 17th was my last WDW change I really really can't wait! The kids (and my class) is done on June 20th! I can't wait! I've opted to not go to school until Fall!! And you are SO right, she is getting herself pump pump pumped up!!!

Oh I'll add some happiness to that too!!

brrrr... on the swimming! But thats good since at the Poly you get that one day BB pass.. in February .. No matter what you will be in Disney and it will rock!! ....and you have plenty of time for cha-cha-changing... why many of our veteran RCers go full circle returning to their original resort and then start all over again...

Thank you all for your well wishes for my puppy ! She is getting some much needed rest but her cone is driving her bonkers!! After reading everyone's comments I feel better about my choice! Gf was in the budget but now it just isn't! Things happen that put a wrench in the plan sometimes and I just gotta roll with it! We have been to POR several times and LOVE it! I know it will be more enjoyable just for the stress factor being eliminated! I'm definitely disappointed but it's not something that will ruin the trip at all! And we get an extra day in the parks so how can you beat that?!?! I'm just lucky I am able to go to disney twice this year!!!

good to hear your pup is recovering well... and somehow I missed that you're stayed at POR before! Rolling with the cha-changes is life... (now I have REO speedwagon the Brain for those old enough to remember them )

And rolling with it at Disney is a heck of a nice place to do it!!

103 days until our family of 3 is on our 8 day Disney Vacation!!! I am so excited ... yet at the same time, I have never been more cconfused about where to stay. I originally booked at POR, but changed to CBR after the free dining plan came out and it didn't include POR. Then several unexpected bills came up so I switched to POP due to $$. Heard several bad reviews and several good reviews about POP and switched to AS Sports. I have been to Disney several times and usually stay at AS Movie. I am seeing good reviews and bad reviews about every resort now. .

Needless to say, I beleive I belong in this group.

Cannot wait to be in Disney again with my little princess. Easily THE most magical vacation we have ever taken!

to our happy home! I LOVED POP! (We happen to have the Queen of Pop here, and even though she's my BFF I am being completely honest)

All stars are super cool, but Pop you can head over to AoA to the food court and check out the theming. I don't think you'll lose no matter where you go! How old is your daughter??? When are you going? Sorry, we like all the details Welcome again!!

The Pas family will be at OKW this summer in a 2 BR villa

Pas, we absolutely love OKW in summertime. The relaxation factor is MAJOR there. We did a huge 1 BR and loved it. The Pas-ites will really benefit from the roomy 2-BR. OKW is so pretty and Floridaiferous (both inside and outside the rooms). The community area layout (pool, store, snacks, pool bar, etc) is so perfect i.m.o. that I never want to leave once I get there. My only regret is that we never stayed there sooner. Are you still doing AMI in Aug?

Awesome!! I get comments from my DH constantly about the amount of time I spend on the DIS All good I say!! We had pool days at Pop we tried all the pools out! When we did movies we never even hit the main pool, my DS 8 (now 22 lol) and DH loved the pool by mighty ducks. I was pregnant so I just napped..great great memories!

It's a fabulous place to rest and relax when you want to get away from the parks. Cruised around on the golf cart for over an hour this morning. The normal people were still sleeping Just me and the animals!

FWC looks amazing!! What a gorgeous morning you are having. Enjoy the parks for us!

DH is still surprised by your affliction, eh?? Treasure Island? Oh my, I lived in Treasure Island on Isle of Capri for 2 years right after I moved to FL back in my "yoot" (a little My Cousin Vinny reference there). Oooh, I loved living there. TI has it over AMI for a pure family-oriented vacation spot since dining and activities at St Pete Beach and John's Pass are so close, although AMI beaches are so pretty and the island is quiet, relaxing and romantic for grown-ups.

For those who have done a split stay, was it easier to have Disney transfer your luggage or should we book a taxi and take our bags to our new resort ourselves? What would be easiest with a young toddler?
