Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Well now I have 2 reservations, Fairfield and Four Points :confused3 just can't make up my mind :rolleyes1 but have lots of time to mull it over!

Linda I missed the part about you moving!!! You're still coming for dinner right?

I agree with pas and like the Portofino idea! Don't fret! They're screwing with my Sept calendar so they may add things to your time and switch stuff around!!! Also, glad I'm not the only one with F!... I was emailing TA today about December and almost just had her cancel the MM F! but figure it can't HURT to hold on to it. Also trying to figure out where Tusker will fit in Dec!!!! I love reading your plans and think they sound good overall. My only real concern is your Day 3, leading to Day 4. Day 3 is REALLY long for your LO (esp if you plan on napping on the go and staying for Wishes/MSEP) and then you have an early morning Day 4. When we took DD at 18 months, the stimulation circus that is Disney wiped her out pretty hard and we were done earlier than I expected and she slept HARD the next morning. We planned similarly for this next trip: we have PM EMH and then an empty morning until MNSSHP, followed by a resort day. You know your cutie better than anyone, but just wanted to offer my experience!!! Still, I love your plans and your ADRs! :goodvibes
I am praying that she'll knock herself out in the stroller. If she is overwhelmed we will go back to the room for the afternoon.

It felt good to write it out though. Thanks for the feedback! :)

DS(now 7) napped at the resort so we took afternoon breaks and made him sleep. Dinner ADRs were later than normal because he crashed hard when we did stop. DD(now 3) never did sleep well at the resort and napped much better in the stroller (or at the Little Mermaid show at HS, etc.)

If we do RD AND EMH in the evening, etc. I am going to push for afternoon breaks. I have time built in for the most part. Just depends on bus times back and forth to CSR during the first part of our stay...

Is there a boat from GF to CR? Or would we take the monorail instead? I booked a fireworks cruise to see the MK 4th of July fireworks on the 3rd (subject to change unless I can find another family to split the cost...it's crazy expensive!) but we have an ADR at 1900 earlier that night that I don't want to cancel.

Oh yes we'll be there for dinner! By the way I'm at a timeshare now on my phone with the worst internet. I miss my computer!

Nope.

Boat does MK/GF/Poly in a triangle.

FYI the other boats are:

MK to TTC back and forth

MK to FW/WL back and forth

CR to FW/WL back and forth

Hope I didn't miss any. I like riding free boats as much as the rides. I often take cr to wl and explore the lobby and return:goodvibes

FROZEN ON ICE!!!! http://www.ticketmaster.com/Disney-On-Ice-Frozen-tickets/artist/1976977 So thrilled! Got tix for DDs and two friends and their DDs! Feeling a little guilty sandwiching more Disney between two trips but didn't stop my from buying! :thumbsup2

I actually thought of you when I saw they were in Orlando in September. LOL. I haven't checked other dates and locations yet!

ETA: in. Chicago end of January...maybe Christmas present?? :-)

OOH, I hadn't even LOOKED at Orlando, I just totally jumped on October in the DC area. We got to pick from two venues (Fairfax, VA is 1.5 hours away, Baltimore is 2) and I scored decent seats at VA show. Going with two friends and their girls. Debated getting PRIMO seats but thinking DH is already hitting critical limit on Disney so best not push it. :)

Chicago in January sounds like a great Christmas present!!! Although, def a little more FROZEN outside, too! :)

Trying to decide if I should surprise DD or not. Going to talk to the other moms... maybe say something like "We're going to see some of the Disney Princesses on ice" and then when we get there have them realize it's Frozen.

On trip front, debating trying to sneak into EPCOT for dinner on Christmas... it's only $10 more a person to add a day, so many options for the group, and then we can see Illuminations and have FP+ for a few rides after dinner. Hmmmmmmmm

Do they do special fireworks for Christmas? I say do it for only $10 more/person! :-)

So the other night DH asked me how much we were paying for tickets for this trip and how much annual passes are. Lol. I was like don't tease me like that! We'd have to make sure and go for at least another long trip or a few short trips to make it worthwhile. (Should have gotten APs more than once in the past though considering we went every year since DS was almost 3 (except for the year DD was born)).

Hi Peeps! :wave2:

Hello all! Hope everyone had a good weekend!!!

DD6 had a Taekwondo tournament this weekend and won 3 first place trophies for her division - sparring, forms, board breaking. She came within points of winning a Grand Champion trophy for board breaking (5 points off!) that would've had her beat out the other girls up to 3 years older than her. Still, second isn't bad!

:woohoo: Congrats to your DD!! :cool1: Hey Mama when she's older, she'll be able to handle the boys just fine! ::yes::

On the Dis front, I'm not happy with my ADRs for Sept. I really don't want the F! package but am nervous to give it up unless HS adds a second show that night. My fear is that with MNSSHP that night and F&W opening that day, non-party/non-drinkers will migrate to HS to escape and F! will be crowded. What to do, what to do???

Hmmm.. hang on to that ADR until you make your “final” decision :goodvibes I think once you let it go you won’t be able to get it back. It really is nice not to have to fight the crowds for Fantasmic. What day are you going? A Friday? And does Disney traditionally book 2 fantasmic shows in Sept?

:rolleyes1 yeah, East pool should be quiet as it will prob only be me, Janet and Linda there ::yes:: everyone else will jump ship

 yeah, Sue it will probably be you, me and our DDs…on the plus side? no worries about additional peeps trying to pool hop! LOL

I've tweaked my trip, took off a day from our Deerfield Beach, and booked the night before Universal Portofino at the Fairfield Inn near Universal.
It will be much easier to get early check in, and into park for early admission the next morning. And return rental car, if I keep Budget, there's a desk just a few blocks up in the Holiday Inn.
Plus I like having breakfast provided at the hotel, we can just grab a bite and go.
But if Alamo turns out cheaper, I may switch the first night to Sheraton Four Points where Alamo return is :faint:

I hope hertz comes down in price, as I can return it at Portofino. But it's currently $200 more then Budget.

Sounds great Sue! Oh how I wish I could add days to my trip for some HP time!

I like the idea of getting to portofino super early to check in, summer will be busy. And our Linda is at YC now. Janet is holding strong at Poly!

As of today, still at the Poly… I have resisted emailing Angela to ask about my options :goodvibes

I jumped ship and moved back to YC. I'm not sure why I even moved from YC to Poly in the first place. I think I got caught up in the mass move from YC to the MK area. I actually think that the Poly will be fine ... Maybe some of the work in the GCH will even be done by then. And I agree with you the resort might be pretty empty!

The RC force was too strong Linda :rotfl2:…know your heart is at the YC! :)

And I’m hoping that the GCH will be mostly finished (the Captain Cook pix looked nice.)

That is what we are hoping Linda!! Looking forward to visiting the two waterparks this time!!:beach:

:yay: Jen, it will be great!! When you get a chance, dates, please for the RC List!

LOL the same reason I started looking at a WL/YC split..peer pressure to ch-ch-change ALL GOOD MAMA! Enjoy Florida

Sweetie you don't need any peer pressure to cha-cha-change!

I think she should just make it one big trip!!! What's wrong with just adding the days between the two trips ... Sounds like something I'd do!

:thumbsup2

It’s an RC thing Sue …. :upsidedow

pigletgirl awesome itinerary... we *might* be related! :goodvibes You seem well organized! :thumbsup2

dimnigal1 congrats on the Frozen tix! If DD was younger, I would be looking to go. Krystal, you should definitely go!

As it is, mentioned to DD last night that when our FP+ windows open that I'd like to get one for Anna/Elsa :) (I'm just a kid at heart :))

trishadono, getting very close now! Will be looking forward to your Poly review :)

Just an FYI, it is now being reported that guest staying at the Poly will NOT have use of the GF pool. They will have their one day at Blizzard Beach and then be able use the East Pool for the remainder of their stay.

(For those of you still holding onto your Poly ressies, this might make a difference) :goodvibes

I saw that...will make for a very busy "quiet" pool!

Yep, read that on the weekend. Should of known the BB WP offer came with a [hidden] mickey motive that was soon revealed... don't misunderstand I get why as the GF guests’ comfort is important too... Disney did not think this one through and making an offer than retracting it does not look good... and for those that have long stays (like our Sue)...given a one day BB pass does not cut it. This is one of their premier resorts!!

Sue, if you stay at the Poly I hope you get loads of pixie dust for CL the whole trip! That way when you are looking at the construction you can be sipping a cold one and sampling goodies, courtesy of Disney :thumbsup2

[Jen, hoping you get that same pixie dust!!]

Well, I jumped ship. Moved to GF. The pool thing was the nail in the coffin. 14 days and no feature pool in August :sad2: when the took away GF pool availability, I thought a lot about it.
We do take Daily afternoon swim breaks in Aug. Sorry Janet :flower3: but I plan on coming over for my Dole Whip :goodvibes maybe a Lapu Lapu!

Its feeling mightly lonely right now :( .....what do I do? .... showed one pix to Sam .... still trying to decide what is best.

Linda and Sue... totally understand both your positions, and am happy for you! :goodvibes

What does Sam want?

Linda, I'm not sure since she made a sad face at seeing the one pix of the lobby....I've just been sitting back thinking about it all.

See I don't want the trip/resort to be unmagical for her, even though she always wanted to stay at the Poly. Just don't know what to do.

 Janet, I don't know. You mentioned you don't really plan on pool much, so maybe it won't matter so much to you.
For us, 14 days without main pool was just too much. And we still have dinner & park plans?
Does Sam want to move to GF or CR?

Changing ADRs now that we switched resorts. Swapping Trails End breakfast for 1900 breakfast, and leaving day Kona Breakfast to GF Cafe Breakfast! Also thinking of adding Citricos. Dinner.
I hope we can get 1900 breakfast. Haven't checked.
