Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

 Janet, I don't know. You mentioned you don't really plan on pool much, so maybe it won't matter so much to you.
For us, 14 days without main pool was just too much. And we still have dinner & park plans?
Does Sam want to move to GF or CR?

Sue, we haven't discussed other options.. yet.. She's been busy and it never seems to be a good time to talk about it.

Sam always has always liked WL -- she doesn't know much about the Epcot resorts. We have stayed at Pop, ASMu, OKW, POR, and Kidani. :)

hmm... not sure about either GF or CR....I should show her pix (and it may make a difference if DS can join us for a day or two)

Changing ADRs now that we switched resorts. Swapping Trails End breakfast for 1900 breakfast, and leaving day Kona Breakfast to GF Cafe Breakfast! Also thinking of adding Citricos. Dinner.
I hope we can get 1900 breakfast. Haven't checked.

You shouldn't have trouble with getting either breakfast. :) BTW, where are your friends staying?

And YES! we still have dinner and park plans. :)

Count me as another about to jump ship on the Poly. At first I was ok with the pool closure, since the option of the GF pool was there. Now that they've taken that away and we have NO interest in water parks, I think we're going to switch over to the Wilderness Lodge. We are getting a great deal at the Poly and so I was ok with some construction, but at this point, trying to keep up with all the changes is just driving me nuts! Plus I think the WL will ultimately be a better fit for us. I was mainly interested in the Poly for monorail access to MK and Epcot, but having only stayed off site and at an All-Star, I'm sure the boats will still be a huge step up!

I haven't read much of this thread, but I'm definitely worried I may become a frequent resort changer because now I get to obsessively research a whole new resort! What a great way to kill time

Haha, be careful! Once you start it can consume you! ;) I have booked and changed or canceled so many ADR's its crazy! But now that we have a game plan I won't feel the need to do it as much. :goodvibes

So DD3 asked to watch Frozen tonight. As she's watching it, she's yelling "Anna, Elsa, I want to hug you!" Lol. She's going to be so excited to see them in person in July! :-)

Our original trip was planned for April in a 2bd Boardwalk DVC villa/ Boardwalk view.
The trip was changed to May and I had given our pts to my SIL for a last minute trip not realizing we'd go so soon.
Booked SSR on pts.
Changed to POR Royal Room- some construction going on sooooo
Changed to WL Queen/ bunk beds courtyard view
Changed to WL club level standard
Decided I could use the $1000 elsewhere on the trip and rebooked WL Queen/ bunk beds courtyard view.
All of this w/in the last month.
Thank goodness the trip is next week. I can stay happy with our resort and room selection for a week. :)

My friend switched too. We travel together, and so we discussed, and thought it would be a good move. The more construction updates there were, and then the pool thing made our decision.
I love WL! It's a great resort! And you'd still be in MK area. Very easy to get to Poly for ADRs. Just boat to MK then hop on the Poly/GF boat.

I've thought of switching from CL at WL back down to CV BB as well, but since we're only there 4 nights, it wouldn't save TOO much... :-)

WL is awesome and the boat ride is such a nice option to have. Plus great CMs!

Of course last night I was looking at Tikimans site and on the DIS for WL pix.. what to do, what to do...:)

It's going to be wonderful! Take plenty of pix to share with us.

You cannot go wrong with WL! :thumbsup2 And just know we have had RCers make changes onsite!! :goodvibes

Sue, I assumed they changed with you. :goodvibes It's a great fit for you all since the pool is so important and that you love the GF. Happy for you all that the promo was still available.

You have definitely found the right place - we all research obsessively, settle on the PERFECT place, and then start the whole thing over again... sometimes before we even finish the phone call to do the initial change.

*nods* I like that you seem to be staying down-to-earth with your changes but are still finding the perfect fit. Personally, we liked the POR RR but after 2 nights we all were glad we had a split and moving to YC... the novelty wore off on DH after an hour, me after a night, and DD after 2. Cute but we enjoyed YC so much more and THAT's the hotel DD remembers from the trip (despite pressing the fireworks headboard button over and over and over)

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

I hope all the Poly peeps here find their perfect spot - be it at Poly or somewhere else. I'm nervous about our Kona ADR in Sept so I can't imagine fretting over the actual resort stay.

I'm thinking of swapping T-Rex on our arrival night with WCC and doing T-Rex for dinner our non-park day. Our flight gets into MCO at 2p and I'm just nervous about getting ME to our resort, getting checked in, and getting to T-Rex by 630. I don't want to push the ADR back too much (the kiddos will be hungry!) but thinking staying at resort for dinner might be the better chocie). The biggest drawback I see is that I need to get to GR to activate our tix that night, so going to DtD is usually our go to: we eat, activate, shop, then are ready for the next day. Thoughts?

Hiya Janet,
It must be so hard deciding what to do. I'm thinking of you! Whatever you finally choose, I know you and Sam will have loads of fun! :goodvibes

I've made a bit of a change myself today. I booked our first three nights at WL, and then the rest of the trip at BW. I really wanted to take advantage of a few days of our BB, so this was the plan that worked.
Now I need to get busy and tweek some dining. :dance3:

Sending hugs to all the RC friends. :grouphug:

Lunch on our EP day...(thinking of doing bigger, late lunch then apps, etc. in lounge at WL later)

Have you been to any of those? I'd pick Rose and Crown (mostly because I can get solid steak and Chinese close by but not so much the traditional English food). I liked Nine Dragons but it didn't scream out to me and I wasn't a huge Le Cellier fan. That said, I'm the weird EPCOT person who enjoys San Angel and Marrakesh! :)

Linda, I'm not sure since she made a sad face at seeing the one pix of the lobby....I've just been sitting back thinking about it all.

See I don't want the trip/resort to be unmagical for her, even though she always wanted to stay at the Poly. Just don't know what to do.
:flower3: Poor Sam...she's a great girl, she will be happy anywhere BFF

So thrilled! Got tix for DDs and two friends and their DDs! Feeling a little guilty sandwiching more Disney between two trips but didn't stop my from buying! :thumbsup2
:cool1: NICE!

Sorry if I missed anyone/anything.....I can't seem to catch up on any of the threads......:faint: forgive me :grouphug:

Done Le Cellier and I really like the filet. :-)

My in-laws had a Chinese restaurant so we never did the Chinese food out anywhere, but they have since closed and there's nothing good around here. I would do the Japanese place for sushi, but the kids don't like Japanese food. What countries are next to Japan? I can't remember...

The fam doesn't do Mexican food, so San Angel is unfortunately out...

Oh Rose and Crown for sure! We are dining there in Sept and I cannot wait!

My name is Jill and I am a changer. I admit I may have judged before and wondered how can people change all Disney resorts are great. Silly Silly me I had a plan it had a back up and a back up. Thank you FD and Port exclusions plus a conference I presume at CSR and in the panic of booking I booked at Carb. Beach then less than an hour later I called and switched to Beach Club Villa because my husband is 6'5 and my 11year old is 5'2 so that bigger bed was crucial. Now though the cost of Beach Club is a little scary even though my hotel is paid for thank you work conference! So I am thinking of switching to Saratoga but have not done all my research. I also call frequently to see if I have a pin or if dates at CSR open.

So yes now I see how this switching happens and have a problem.

Stay at BC!! Did you book a studio? They have 1 queen & pull out sofa. Regular BC ( not villas) have 2 queens. I'd pick BC over SSR any day! Great location, and best pool!

They don't like Tepan Edo? I haven't been back to Le Cel since it went to 2TS. But liked it before.
What about Coral Reef? Do they do lunch? Le Chefs? Germany?

We've never eaten at Teppan Edo, but in general they don't like Japanese food (the kids), although my husband and I could definitely do a number on sushi! :-) (although this would be an OOP meal)

Ate at Coral Reef last year and wasn't overly impressed with the food and service, although seeing the fish tanks up close and personal was pretty cool! :-)
