Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Happy Monday All!!!

Coming off of a super busy weekend and will have to get caught up. :goodvibes
Got our family photos done yesterday (first time since DD7 was an infant!) and I love how they came out!

Woke up this morning to see that our basketball hoop had been blown down by the wind and through DH's windshield!!! :scared:

Last week, I was rear ended in my car, so this hasn't been the best week for our cars. :rotfl2:

Short work week, only 3 days....WOOOOHOOOO!!! :cool1:

koh1977: How was girls time? princess:

SueM: Oh, your weekend sounds superb! Glad you and your friends had a super fun weekend. BC is on my very short list. Whistler and Victoria Island are two spots I'd really like to visit. I am considering it for our annual BFF trip as my big 50th Bday pick. Of course a Dismeet would be in order. ;)

wookie: Hi there! I am so happy to see you have a trip planned for WDW. It will be so much sun in the coming months to plan all the details. POP is great. So consider how much resort time you'll really need before you upgrade to that Deluxe. Maybe spend the extra ching on experiences at WDW with your friends instead. :scratchin ... And yes I understand about the constant negativity that depressed family member can put out there. It is exhausting. Stay sunny! :flower3: ... Oh and that's odd about the DL two ticket minimum. Did you get any answers? Does DL have a room only option?

mousemommy1: OMG! Sorry to hear about yours and DHs cars. I hope both get taken care of by insurance quickly and easily. :crazy2:

chimo2u: Than you so much for an Allan update. :groom: You guys are always on my mind. ... So soon now for you! :cool1:

jennyjinx: You photo of DDs is cute. Thanks for sharing. I am also partial to BWI and the slide and the amazing pool area design. It is so fun and colorful. Plus it reminds me of home. :goodvibes

sjs314: I am glad to hear there is some improvement with Bella. And it is wonderful that her spirits have remains UP. I hope your spirits rise as her progress improves.

miss: So sad for little MissM. :cutie: I hope the relaxation "game" you found has been giving her relief. Good mommy. princess:

pas130: I was saddened to hear the Pas family won't be WDW-ing. I was so looking forward to meeting you rounding the loop by monorail. Maybe August, right? :thumbsup2 ... You take good care of your tootsies. I never paid proper attention to both  of my rolled feet and now am paying the price. :worried:

OK then... so we are outta here tomorrow for a good ole fashioned NC country Thanksgiving. We'll chop down our Christmas tree and bring it back home on top of the car.

My girls weekend in Galena was perfect! Got in late Friday night so we just hung out and talked. Saturday morning we had breakfast at the B and B then headed down the stairs into town and did a little bit of shopping before lunch and the winery tour. Went to 3 wineries and tasted I don't even know how many wines. Definitely was feeling good by the end of it. :-) we were not completely tanked like a few of the other ladies though...a bit annoying and obnoxious...got back and walked back up all those stairs (definitely got a workout!) to drop off the wine we'd purchased, then back down for dinner full of pasta and bread to soak up the alcohol. :-) way too cold to shop after dinner so we went back up the stairs one more time to our rooms. Sat and talked for a while, read, and went to bed. Another delicious breakfast in the morning then on the road to return home. It was weird not having tv, internet, etc. there, but definitely a nice, relaxing time as a result!

So glad to hear Bella is getting stronger! Good news!

Haven't caught up. Just got home from a weekend ladies trip up to Whistler. Drove up Friday after work. Went out for dinner. Saturday Spa massages then we went for a stroll around the village, and did a little shopping. Made dinner back at condo, and enjoyed some wine :goodvibes. Sunday had leisurely morning, and drove back home in afternoon. Great weather, clear, sunny. The Village looked beautiful, with the trees lit up.

Not ready for work tomorrow :sad2:

That sounds like a Heavenly weekend.

Happy Monday All!!!

Coming off of a super busy weekend and will have to get caught up. :goodvibes
Got our family photos done yesterday (first time since DD7 was an infant!) and I love how they came out!

We haven't had family photos done since JM was 2 or 3 (and he'll be 15 in January). The only reason we had them done then, is we had family photos done with my DH's family. They then broke us down into the individual families. The one with everyone is so funny. JM was sitting on my fil's lap, and my fil both had on dark clothes, so it looks like JM's head is just floating in mid-air.

I hope it doesn't cost much to get your DH's windshield replaced, and the other car's insurance takes care of yours.

One of the reasons I am thinking of making the change is that I have never gone with a child under 3. Since we are going to be spending most of our time at the MK and Epcot, being able to take the boat to the MK would be great. I brought up the YC/BC, since we could walk to Epcot and then take the monorail to the MK. The only problem is there we would just have one room with two beds since their accessible rooms have two Queen size beds. At the WL, we could get the same adjoining room set up that we can get at the Pop. Plus I know the WL is the favorite resort of at least one of the ladies going and it's one of my two favorite resorts. Right now, it's just an idea I'm bouncing around. Due to some health issues that have come up recently with his parents, the DH has vetoed moving out for the near future. I figure that if I am going to have to stay here, I will put back all the money I make working for my friend for this WDW trip, and hopefully a few days at DL this Summer.

I haven't found out an answer to the DL question, but I haven't looked hard for one either. I still have to convince the DH that we are going to do it. Silly man, thinks he has a choice in the matter.:lmao:

WOO HOO for short weeks!! I love this time of year, because you do get so much time off work.

OK then... so we are outta here tomorrow for a good ole fashioned NC country Thanksgiving. We'll chop down our Christmas tree and bring it back home on top of the car.

A real Christmas tree is another thing I miss about living with the inlaws. Due to allergies, they can't have a real one in the house. I hate fake Christmas trees.

I'm not sure who all is coming over Thursday. I was surprised to find out that my DH's brother, his wife, and son are coming. I know his sister is coming, but not sure how many from her family will be here. If everyone is here, we could have as many as 17.

That sounds like a Heavenly weekend.

Thanks! Yeah, the windshield is being repaired today. We have a $0 deductible so it's all good, nothing out of pocket for us. :goodvibes

As for my damages, well of course the driver was uninsured and had a suspended license, but the damages are literally about $30 and the guy says he will pay for it. We shall see....;)

That is great news about the DH's car.

I just hope the person that hit your car makes good on paying it. Maybe since it is such a small amount he will. If not, it is a small amount, so you won't be out too much.

PAS: so sad I won't get to meet you in 11 days
All these injuries to our dear friends needs to stop!!! I hope you heal ASAP!
My trip is BACK ON!!! Hopefully I will see you on Friday morning! :flower3:

Jeanette: Hope you're getting some rest for that ankle, momma.
 I got a not so great report from the Dr. yesterday. I am casted and not allowed to bear weight :crazy2:

Spoke with her after school briefly about whether she was worried about anything. Again, nothing. :confused3 Let that drop and just tried to reassure her that if anything upsets her, confuses her or makes her worried, she can always talk to me about it ... then changed the subject. Before dinner, I taught her a "game" I'd read about (relaxation breathing technique), explained the science behind it because she wanted to know what the game helped your body to do (LOL) and had her practice it. At bedtime, she showed me that she'd remembered the breathing thing. She's upstairs reading now so all my fingers are crossed. :upsidedow
 HRH has anxiety and she cries and cries and is absolutely inconsolable. I hug her and rock her, sometimes I need to let her be...which is so hard but it works. Sorry Miss M had a bad night!
We're home! Here is a pic from the ship...

Oh and I forgot to mention....BWI has the BEST SLIDE EVER!!! :D
:goodvibes LOVELY PIC! Those gals are getting SO big Jen! I can't stand it!

pas130 - so sorry @ your ankle but understand the need to get back to 100%. Disney is such a strenuous effort and it's no fun to try it when you're preoccupied with pain/worried about hurting further. :grouphug:
DH and I came to a compromise, and we are doing Universal (again :rotfl:) I will be in a wheelchair and DS12 is my chauffeur! :rotfl:We put up our Christmas tree Sunday, and I couldn't bear NOT going to MVMCP :confused3

I have to schedule an MRI..and we are taking it from there. pixiedust: for your hip and DD's testing. Special services in my school district and I are frenimies...it took me forever to get my DD tested, and it's a fight every year to keep her IEP in place..because she is not failing. HELLO>>>SHE'S BRIGHT....ugh. Hang in there, plenty of us here have been there and done that...and we are here for you, PM me your cell if you ever need to chat/text/vent...

Jeanette hope your doing ok
 I am hanging in, Sheila  worried about you! Glad Bella is in good spirits!:flower3:

 I hope you are able to get out of the dumps. I've been feeling that this year, but I think mine is because of my fil. It's hard to have a cheery outlook with you live with a man that seems to be always screaming about something. Today it is the Dallas Cowboys game and "the unfair refs, and the Cowboys not only having to go against the Giants, but the refs as well". Even though it can be hectic and stressful at times, I looked forward to the days I work at my friend's in home day care. I have found there is not stress or worry, that a baby belly laugh, can't put a smile on your face.
Awwww, that's so very true

pas130: I was saddened to hear the Pas family won't be WDW-ing. I was so looking forward to meeting you rounding the loop by monorail. Maybe August, right? :thumbsup2 ... You take good care of your tootsies. I never paid proper attention to both of my rolled feet and now am paying the price.
I am going to get my butt to the monorail loop on the 6th!!! I just HAVE to!!!!!!!!!:crutches::drinking1

DH had his bloodwork yesterday, I am proud he went...now get back to the Dr. we need you well for the RC Grannie RE-DO trip.... I feel bad I am a burden on the family this trip

Time to hobble out and get the girls off the bus, and put the laptop away so DH doesn't:badpc: He said I've exceeded the maximum amount of changes...I even changed the wheelchair rental place :rotfl:

Hi Jeanette!!! Woohoo! So happy to hear your trip is saved! I'll be meeting you on Friday morning with Bells on :) woohoo!
Only 7 days to go!

I just got off the phone with Disney myself! Changed back to a River view Royal room from pool view -- only $10 difference so I figured why not! :)

Counting down the days till we meet and I can give you a big (((hug))) in person :)

Stopping by for a quick hello and a big ... :grouphug: for all of you.

Jeanette: YES! :goodvibes Hereby requesting pics of cute kiddos at the Christmas Party.

Lots of  to you all.

And, another thanks to all of you that offered advice about Miss M's anxiety. Haven't had any repeat episodes ... but at least I'm prepared with the arsenal of knowledge you guys provided me with. Another :grouphug: because you are THE best group of ladies ever. Back to the kitchen to make sure I'm not burning anything...

Hi all!! Sorry I didn't get to answer Janet's text yesterday. I can read my texts at work, but can't text back because someone is always watching. Of course last night my 33 year old child had the stomach virus so I had to play nurse :lmao: It really was sad, lol. It occupied my time.

Anyway... now that I'm at work again, still can't answer the text while I'm here, but I wanted to say that I can't make any of the dinners. It will be a really busy weekend with my work Xmas party, my friends secret santa exchange, and a smidgen of husband quality time. Just keep me in the loop and I will try to pop in here and there :) Texts are great :cutie:

Safe travels to alll!!!!! I can't wait to see all of you!!

I thought I would bounce a color choice idea off you ladies. I have a friend that I met on the boards that is turning 40 this coming Summer. Even though I can't be in Orlando for her big birthday bash, I wanted to make her a scarf and take it to her when I am there in August. I am thinking to make it classic Mickey colors. Black on the one side with red and white stripe MK, and the other side red and white strip with a black MK. What do y'all think?

Resort Change!!! (Who'd have guessed?? ;) lol)
Changed from the POR royal Room to WL courtyard view for only $25 difference -- couldn't pass that up! It's my first 2 nights (3&4th) still at POFQ for the 5-9th

Hey Guys....

At the risk of sound like a super cheese ball...

I just wanted to say before everyone scatters for Thanksgiving....I am so grateful for so many things in my life....my family, my health, and of course our ability to take so many vacations to our favorite place on the planet. :p

But, I am also so glad to have been a part of this group for the past several years. It's so nice knowing you're all here if anyone of us has a problem or issue..and to share our stories, triumphs and struggles. It's a no judgment zone and very "come as you are"

To the Best group of peeps on the Dis....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Hello everyone :wave2: I've been skimming when I can but it seems like that past few weeks have been crazy. I'm looking forward to some down time at my parents (once I pack and cook tomorrow) for the next few days. Then the craziness starts again, kids have state testing, David's holiday party on the 4th , leave mid day for WDW on the 5th, back home on the 8th, then back to MCO on the 13th-15th :faint: David has another meeting so the kids and I will be making uses of our passes before they blackout for Christmas and New Years.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends and Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate.

:grouphug: to all!!!

Melissa
