Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Bella updateplease. I've been thinking of her all day.

Janet yes! Looking forward to meeting this time!! Feel free to PM me about your mom. It's so hard. I have to keep reminding myself when she would say crazy things, it's not her, it's the disease. They do go thru major personality changes. One time at the assisted living she went down the hall taking down all the smoke alarms. :scared: she was convinced they were spy devices.

Miss thanks for your kind thoughts. Will your mom use a wheelchair? You can request wheelchair transport in the airport. This way she won't get lost.

Krystal I missed your pics. Going to have to go look back to find them!!

Jennyjinx. :cool1::cool1::cool1: safe travels!

Linda continue that recovery! You have lots of motivation.

Melissa how's Steven?

luvluvluv congrats on rebooking!

Anyone I missed :wave2:

Health update: just spent 12 minutes walking and then sat up in a chair for 10 minutes. Now this may not seem like much but it's the best I've done in 4 weeks! Also I even managed to talk to Janet on the phone without a coughing fit! Maybe tomorrow I'll even try to make it out the front door! :rotfl2:

Linda Happy to hear of your progress, it takes time but soon you will be 100%

Woohoo! So good to hear :) now I hope you just keep getting better and better :) Sheila: praying for your little furbaby -- you bet your boots the kennel is responsible! I hope she's ok and feels better soon! Can hardly believe only 3 weeks until the trip I never thought would be! I'm so blessed to be going and can't wait to meet so many dear friends! I'm contemplating buying the photopass plus-- I'm not the greatest with a camera and this will guarantee I have some memories from this whirlwind trip. If I don't buy it I'll probably regret it -- I've got about 7 days to make up my mind! I better get thinking about packing soon, I'm at a loss as I don't have many mixed weather clothes, and capris are no where to be found right now with a foot of snow on the ground, lol! I better get it sorted soon. Thank you to my dear friends who are military and military spouses for your sacrifice and service for helping making our world a better place! Xxxooo

Marie A foot of snow :faint: We had a light dusting here last night but soon you will be in sunny Florida :)

This is me today:

:woohoo::hyper::faint::banana::dancer::boat::sail::faint::faint::faint:

all these emotions in any given order!!

We are heading out in the morning, I will try to pop in! Hope everyone keeps well and Sheila thinking of your Bella.

jenny Have a safe and magical trip!

popping in quickly!

had a great cruise!! rebooked!!

jenny... PM me if you have last minute questions!!!

Deena Glad you had a great time on your cruise

Update We took Bella into the vet last evening and they kept her overnight, they ran blood tests and did x-rays etc and everything came back ok. They ran more tests today and she had some movement in her back legs so they decided she be better off at home. She is on anti inflammatory meds and something else I forget what plus we are suppose to massage and exercise her back legs. And call the Vet on Thursday about her progress.

The kennel called the Vet wanting info, then called me asking me to release her medical records saying they might pay some of the Vet bill. I never even called them back, I am calling a lawyer tomorrow to see what he says.

I know they want the records to pass on to their legal Dept most likely. It is Best Friends the same Kennel that is in Disney and has bought out smaller kennels nationwide like they did this one we use which use to be a independently owned kennel.

Bob thinks I should release the medical records but at this point we do not know if Bella will get better or not and if not we will have to put her down.

No way I am going to accept partial or even full payment for the Vet bills if We end up having to put Bella down.

Am I crazy? Whatever happened happened on their watch and they are not saying what.

Anyway keep Bella in your prayers please I just want her to get better

:flower3: for Bella. No Shiela, I don't think you're crazy at all. You took in a perfectly well dog. That's not what came out.
Hold firm, I wouldn't release anything to them, you're right to be suspicious of their motives.
You can give them updates, and forward them all bills!!
Sorry your vet doesn't have any answer right now. Soft tissue injury is hard to see.
What about ultrasound therapy? Does your vet offer that?
I have to admit, I'd be out for blood. Hold them responsible! But play nice with them unless they start getting nasty.

Sheila sorry it's not ultrasound therapy it's this- excerpt from my vets web page

Companion Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is a course of treatment that actually stimulates the body to heal from within. Non-thermal photons of light are administered to the body and absorbed by the injured cells. The cells are then stimulated and respond with a higher rate of metabolism…

Sue I will have to ask Bella's Vet about the Lazer therapy when I call her tomorrow. The problem being transporting her back and forth.

That is a good idea about forwarding the Bills to BF as of now the bill is $747.99

Just had to change her puppy pads again to keep her dry, in a couple of hours will start exercising her back legs every 4 hours we did not after bring her home as getting her from the car to the FR was exercise in itself

Have any RC ladies had their gallbladder removed? I had a flare up in high school but never had it removed. The past 2 nights I've been in so much pain and I'm definitely thinking my lovely gallbladder is trying to break up with me. I'm the worst patient ever. Someone reassure me!

Dani hope you feel better, I can't offer any input as I still have my gall bladder.

A couple of my close friends have, and although it wasn't easy... they're better with it out. I've watched both of them go thru the pain, and I hope you feel better really soon!!!! <3 :grouphug: :flower3:

Hi guys  I am back from my beloved NJ home. I had a wonderful visit and got to do a lot of things I needed to do up there. My DH and I are seriously considering buying a snowbird place in NJ!!!! :joker: I know, I know. I've heard we are doing it backwards a million times already. I toured a great place in Spring Lake, NJ. We're considering renting it out for the summers and then using it intermittently Oct-May, so we'll see. I hope it works out. :goodvibes ... My step-MIL had a colostomy last week so we are keeping my FIL company. Step-MIL is the unsinkable Molly Brown, that one is! She died twice on two diffferent days, and was revived both days. And upon revival on both days she was STILL on the phone incessantly with my FIL barking orders to him... Priceless I tell ya. :crazy2:

jennyjinx: Happy travels. Have a Magical time. :beach:

sjs314: I am so sorry to hear about poor little Bella. Hang tough with those corporate & legal types.

luvluvluv: So I guess you enjoyed your cruise?!!! :lmao: Congrats for booking another one!!! And Happy 1st Anniversary!!

I_heart_the_mouse: VGF sounds like a GREAT price. Lucky you! I am already waiting for that trip report :hyper:

chimo2u: Layer. Layer. Layer. Lots of zip up, button up lightweight jackets and a variety of long and short sleeve Ts. And yes, a lightweight pair of gloves is a must... :faint: One of Florida's worst cold snaps was the 1st weekend of December a few years back. WDW lost over half of their plants due freeze. I was there with my BFF for the Holiday Decorations tour. She is from NJ and said she has NEVER been so cold in her life. :rotfl: That darned FL humidity makes winter just like living on the ocean up north. Brrrrr.

Miss: Glad your mom is coming to visit. Yes, it is a struggle. My dad won't do Aricept because he says "there's nothing wrong with him." :furious: And my mom is a wanderer, too. I've considered one of those kiddie leashes for her. Ya gotta laugh. ;)

GrumpyGrandma: Glad to hear of your measured continued progress. Pretty soon we'll be calling you Speed Racer! :thumbsup2

Babyberger: How is Steven? Was your parents anniversary gift a hit?

disneydreamin247: Get that traitor gallbladder out asap. It only gets worse.

JanetB: Thinking of you. Thank you for thinking of me. I've cleared out my VM. Ooops.

I've missed a lot. Gonna catch up this week. :surfweb: Take care all. :wave2:

Sis  I had the surgery years ado. DS12 was 9 months old, and it was the day before Halloween. I didn't plan it that way, but I was working the ER in charge and decided MickeyDs was a good dinner...well not so much. The pain was bad on Halloween (discharged that morning), I sat on the floor and crawled to the door to give out candy DH took the boys out. However within a few days I was back to my ole self...even tried to get my surgeon to let me go back to work (1 month home was LOOONNGGG) Those attacks are HORRIBLE, so IMO surgery was well worth it.

This is FAB news Mama

We are heading out in the morning, I will try to pop in
 Safe travels Jen! Sorry I missed ya!!! ENJOY pixiedust:

popping in quickly!

had a great cruise!! rebooked!!
NICE!!!!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and that the week is starting well. I found out on Friday I have to go back in for more hip surgery soon... just have to do some more tests to see how invasive it will be. We're hoping arthroscopic but only time will tell.
LO started teething this weekend which has been a pickle. She's only 4 months and can't hold anything with great skill yet, so I've spent many hours holding chilly teethers for her. Thank goodness Big Sister can handle that job as well!
 I hope it'll be arthroscopic!! And teething..ugh...poor DD

I know I'm missing lots of you, sorry

A catch up is not happening today.
Yeah, I hear that :faint:

It's a quiet rainy morning here, so going to try to catch up a bit.
I will never catch up here.....but here's a  for my girl Melissa

Christmas shopping from your couch is too easy.
Agreed :rotfl: BTW Amerigan Girl on Black Friday...MAJOR deals coming (rumored but great source) I will be online that day!!! Build a Bear .com too!!!

Pas cataracts??? Did he mention surgery? How advanced are they? The new inter ocular lenses are great. Not like the old days when you had to wear coke bottles after surgery!
Glasses first...which I haven't gotten yet :rolleyes2 Recheck in 6 months. Only the left eye so far, and nothing too significant...wait and watch for now. Which I am good with!

Sorry for all your going thru with your mom. It stinks. I'm going thru it too.

I booked Poly for August.
Sorry for what you are going through with your mom

The Labor day deals are less than amazing this year...looking like WL CL shall stay intact for us. But we may be there...time will tell

Hey gals! Popping in to report my latest ch-ch-change. My best change ever, I think!

I managed to snag a point rental on a Lake View 1 BR at VGF for less then $11/pp. It works out to about 60% off of rack rate.
pixiedust: WOW!!!! Merry Christmas to you!!!!!

Wishing all our Veterans a magical day and thanking each and every one of you :grouphug:

 Thought of you Monday! DS12 did a show for our town vets :goodvibes

Went to the circus this weekend...
eadbd741d11d8e4b740c2d30791bb996_zps068b45a6.jpg

DD ate her hot dog, THEN the bun. Lol. Plus almost an entire box of popcorn. Not sure which she was more excited about...her own box of popcorn or the animals. :-)
Adorable!!!

And Pas, LOVE the NYC plans! Just tell Dani and I WHEN.
 Congrats to Sam & Co!!!! And  for Mom! Today is DS's 22nd birthday. Since he doesn't speak to me...it's gonna be a sad day for me. BUT fake happy face for the rest of the family...I am so behind here. And days are long, DS5 is just wearing me thin. I wish I could cancel December, I just don't even want to go anymore  Sorry to go :offtopic:

I was just logging on to say I didn't come downstairs til 9am!!!! I was up about 7:45am but stayed in bed and kept dozing. Went into the kids at 8:20am just to say good morning and that I was going to lay back down and they were nice and quiet! I so needed this lazy morning.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards
WOW! NICE!!! :thumbsup2

Off to get DS from preschool, I will try to get back later :grouphug: No promises, but much love to all. Keep on ch-ch-changing....

Miss thanks for your kind thoughts. Will your mom use a wheelchair? You can request wheelchair transport in the airport. This way she won't get lost.

Thanks for this suggestion! I'll run it by her... not sure if she'll go for it or not, but doesn't hurt to ask. She's a stubborn ol' bird. Not entirely sure if that's a genetic thing or not. :rolleyes1

Thinking of you and Bella. I hope she's doing better today. I'm sorry you're having to deal with all of that. The boarding facility is negligent, without doubt. They should pay all of her medical expenses.

We had to stop taking our fur-baby to her doggy day-care boarding place after one of our trips. Nothing medical-related thankfully but she came back traumatized after one of her stays and I felt awful -- like they had done something to her while she was in their care. She had lain on her bed for weeks, despondent. Nothing I could prove but just a gut-feeling so we've never taken her back. :(

Have any RC ladies had their gallbladder removed? I had a flare up in high school but never had it removed. The past 2 nights I've been in so much pain and I'm definitely thinking my lovely gallbladder is trying to break up with me. I'm the worst patient ever. Someone reassure me!

I worked with a woman who had weekly gallbladder attacks. Poor thing was absolutely miserable with pain -- all. the. time. She said the surgery was the best thing she'd ever done, ever.

Oh my, about your step MIL. She is the unsinkable Molly Brown. :rotfl: Hope her recovery goes smoothly -- especially for your FIL. :scared:

Reverse-snowbird getaway. Sounds like a brilliant plan, you can wave at the rest of the traffic headed south on 95 as you head up to NJ. :thumbsup2

Miss: Glad your mom is coming to visit. Yes, it is a struggle. My dad won't do Aricept because he says "there's nothing wrong with him." And my mom is a wanderer, too. I've considered one of those kiddie leashes for her. Ya gotta laugh.

SWEET! Thanks for the heads-up. My mom is wanting to get Miss M a Saige doll; I thought we had escaped the American Girl doll thing but apparently not. :scared: I've been telling her to hold-off because there's not even free shipping at the moment. Eesh. Build-a-Bear, too? Hmm.

Enjoy the afternoon with your lil' man.

:grouphug: to all of you.

Jen's out there sailing the seas! :goodvibes :boat:

Actually, there is a free shipping code for AG out right now. It's PF39358 and it's only good until 11/30/13!!! I know it works, because we've already used it. :thumbsup2

Sa-weeeeet! Thanks muchly, m'dear. :cheer2: (I get their emails all the time but haven't seen any deals. What the heck?! :confused3 ) What'd you guys wind up getting for the girls' dolls?

I really hope her wanting the Saige isn't going to be an "issue" later on -- like instead of her choosing a My American Girl doll. Kinda clueless on the whole thing anyway. She's got a Bitty Baby that rarely got played with. :upsidedow

Yeah, my girls have the My American Girls....::yes::

I actually pawned the whole order off on my DMIL!!! :cool1: But, DD6 is getting the gymnastics set for her doll, and DD9 is getting a pair of glasses and the violin set for her doll...:goodvibes

Sue I will have to ask Bella's Vet about the Lazer therapy when I call her tomorrow. The problem being transporting her back and forth.

Hope you find a vet who does that Laser Therapy. What kind of dog do you have? Not sure if it would work with yours, but when our old Lab had a paralyzed hind quarter, we looped a beach towel under her hind quarters to hold them up, and take the weight off, so essentially her rear was supported by towel, and she used her front legs to get her out to the car.
It wasn't so much that she was paralyzed but it was an inner ear neuro thing, but the end result was she couldn't move unassisted,

Have any RC ladies had their gallbladder removed? I had a flare up in high school but never had it removed. The past 2 nights I've been in so much pain and I'm definitely thinking my lovely gallbladder is trying to break up with me. I'm the worst patient ever. Someone reassure me!
Yep. I did. Laparoscopic. Best thing I ever did! I never got the severe attacks, just constant pain. Finally I decided to do it and have the surgery. I never realized how much pain I was in untill it was gone!!
I didn't find the post op was too bad. Was never intolerable. And I got out of vacuuming for 6 weeks :rotfl:

Magic seriously??

Magic seriously??
You mean about the Unsinkable Molly Brown? Yep, sadly could 't make that one up. I feel so bad for my FIL, her daughter, my DH and everyone else in her life who she alienates on a seemingly weekly basis. Sad.

My gallbladder didn't try to kill me in my sleep last night! :cheer2:

magic did you SEE my man last night?! I needed a fan! :rotfl:

Also my Playstation 4 has shipped and I'm super excited to play it!

Well, what do you know....I am working on some MAJOR changes to our trip(s). :rotfl:

What a tease you are!!! :rotfl2: Don't you know my main form of entertainment is keeping with all my RC family? I'm not responding much but believe me I am reading every single post. So in my best grandma voice ... SPILL IT!!! :goodvibes

Well, my shiny new ticker says it all. :goodvibes

We are back to 10 nights at Sugarloaf for August 2014 and have moved our cruise to April 2015, and it's 7 nights to the Caribbean instead of the 3 night to Bahamas!

DH and the girls thought the 3 night cruise was too short...I thought the 5 night stay at WDW prior to it was too short....the only answer was to separate the two and extend them both! :cheer2:
