Well my DH, my six month old DD and I decided to hop in the car this past Monday night and drive down to Disney World. We actually have a trip planned for this Easter week, which we can’t wait for! But my DH starts a new job on Monday, and some free time appeared for both of us. How could we not go to Disney World?!?!?! We stayed at an off site vacation home, which was nice and relaxing.

Here is what we ate during our quick week! :)

Tuesday night we met my MIL and DH’s stepfather off site at the Boston Lobster Feast out by South Orange Blossom Trail and Sand Lake Road. We will never do this again! :( It is way too far from Disney World, and the price is too high for the type of food in my opinion. We did notice that there is a closer location to Disney World, but we are not into seafood buffets. Plus, we ate late, and were very tired after the drive down from New Jersey.

Wednesday night we ate the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary Resort. I started with the Caesar Salad and my DH had the Five Onion Soup. Both were very good! Sadly, we asked for both of our main courses to be cooked medium, and they were too well done. My DH ordered the 8 ounce Grilled Filet Mignon, and I ordered the 12 ounce Steakhouse Kansas City Strip. The roasted garlic smashed potatoes were very good. However, my steak was way too well done, and very grizzly. My waitress did notice that I hadn’t eaten much of my dinner, so she inquired, and then took it off of our bill. We then split the Crème Brule which was very good! :) I would try this restaurant again, and order medium rare next time!

Thursday afternoon, we got caught in a rainstorm, so we stopped at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club Resort, and we split a hot fudge sundae! Yummmmm!

Thursday night we went to dinner at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The buffet was awesome. I enjoyed the whole spiced chicken, and the roast pork with coca-cola sauce! There were many other items to choose from that were new and very tasty. The bread section had three different kinds of humus, and I couldn’t get enough of it! And of course, the dessert section was to die for! The zebra domes were great, as were many other little pastries! I would definitely go back!

Friday we went to the Magic Kingdom, and had some hot dogs and fries at Casey’s Corner! My DH had the grand slam all beef ¼ pound hot dog, and I just had the great American all beef hot dog. Both were very good! We then went over to the Main Street Bake Shop, and each got a Toll House chocolate chip cookie! :) :) :) And on the way out for the day, since it was so hot, we split a pineapple/vanilla swirl dole whip!

Friday night we ate at the Flying Fish Café on the Boardwalk. This is one of our favorites! I started with the Hail Caesar Salad, and my DH had the Tuna Tartare. Both were very nice. I had the wonderful Potato Wrapped Red Snapper, and my DH had the Housemade Ravioli which was interesting, but good! We then split the heavenly Banana Napoleon! :)

Saturday we snuck in for our last meal at Chefs de France for lunch. This was our first time there, and it was great! Surprisingly, there were quite a few people eating here. I guess we American’s are boycotting the French, not their food! ;) My DH got the Escargots, which I tried. He really enjoyed them, but I wouldn’t try them again. They weren’t bad, I just couldn’t get the thought of slimy snails out of my head! We also split the cheese plate as an appetizer as well. That was wonderful! I had Quiche Lorraine for my entrée, and my DH had the Crepe au poulet curry en salade, or chicken curry salad in crepes. Both were very good! My DH’s crepes came with some amazing homemade potato chips. It was a very nice last meal, until our next trip in three weeks! :)

If anyone has any questions, please let me know! J

Thanks so much for the reviews! What fun - to take off on a spur of the moment trip! :) I am counting the days until I can eat at Flying Fish again. I've never been to Chefs for lunch (just for dinner once) but the curried chicken with the crepes seems like something I would really like to try!

Mmmm, the hummus alone makes me want to go to Boma!

I enjoyed reading your report. Thank you for sharing.

One of my absolute favorite desserts in WDW is the creme brulee at the Concourse. I love the simplicity of this dessert and that it's done in a shallow dish so you gets lots of crunch with each bite.

Enjoyed the reviews. FF is on our list for May!!
Interesting observation on Chefs D' France.. we were seriously thinking about Bistro D' Paris this trip, but decided to deep-six it in light of what's going on.

Uncleromulus-Being that we were in Disney, we tried to leave the real world behind! :)

Oh I understand. And I wish I could do the same.
But we're at WAR and this is a serious, serious business.
Not much in the grand scheme of things, but no way I could (in good conscience) patronize a restautrant who's countrymen
are so pro-Iraqi and blatantly anti-American.

okay this is all getting crazy. I hate close minded countrymen of my own country. Should I boycott the American Pavillion? That's it I have sworn off apple pie.

Please don't make my post into a political statement! :( I just wanted to share all of the wonderful places that we ate at this trip! :)

I'm sorry, I don't mean to take this off topic. Your reviews were great and I am looking forward to the Flying Fish in June.

Miss Jasmine-Really, I am not offended by any posts. We all have our right to our own opinion. I just want to talk about food, and nothing else! :)
