We had to have our sweet cat Chessie put to sleep. She was 22 years old & has been winding down for a short while now. It's amazing for her age that until the past few weeks or so she was GREAT! This past week she stopped eating & then drinking...we knew it was her time but this is SO HARD. My family is just devastated. She has been in my DH's family her whole life & I've had her the past 12 years I've been with him. My kids are just so sad, they've never NOT had her and she slept with my DD every night...it did help a bit that I took them to the store & my DD got a pair of necklaces that say Sisters at Heart & my DS got Friends Forever. They each kept 1 & we buried Chessie with the other halves. We also made a Build a Bear and named it Chessie. It really seems to help to have something to snuggle while crying
We've all been taking turns with it
We still have our other furbaby Baxter who is very confused as to what has happened. I know there are a lot of you out there who love your furbabies as I do, and I really need some pixie dust right now
