Flights of Wonder

Now this is one I haven't done either. Wow, there's quite a few things I still have to try! I've seen some great pictures of this though.

Tink!!! Sorry it's been FOREVEERRR!! But my Spring Break starts today so I'm ready to Dis is up again How've you been?!!

OK, Astro Orbiter. I went on this in 1992 and remember HATING it! My dad and I went together, and then my mom and my brother, and I remember being squished in that car and killing my leg. You know how they tilt to the side when you go high up? I remember my leg digging into a bar on there and my dad trying to hold me up, it was a mess I was only 5 at the time but I'll never forget it... and will probably never ride that evil ride again

And I've never done Flights of Wonder. Shocking right? We've only done the big rides at Animal Kingdom!

I've missed talking to you! I've ben crazy busy. And now I have to take a trip out to Iowa City on Friday to the University of Iowa Hospital to get my tubing in my hearing aid fixed.

Okay Astro Orbiter- see when they tilt to the side, I thought I was going to fall out!

Okay, so I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't done Flights of Wonder.

I have done this one I love the show. All the birds are so beautiful I remember we where in the front row and the Cms were bringing out birds and they fly freely around. Well my traveling buddy was so amazed that she never notice the bird flying over her head and almost taking her hat I loved it. She was very excited about what happened.

Okay, this ride is cool ONCE you get to the top. I HATE riding in that elevator! They cram as many people as they can seriously. It was horrible. B/F and I went on it 2 trips ago, and it had been my first time back on it in awhile. The view from up there is amazing, but I do have to admit, I felt like I was going to fall out the whole time! I made B/F hang on to me.

My favorite memory was on our trip last May. We were the only ones on the elevator and were about to go up but then this lady and her son came. The boy was I think 8 years old and he was so funny! He asked if the elevator was like the Tower of Terror...I guess he went on that and didn't like it! He just had us cracking up on the way up and then on the way down again. Loved it! We later saw them when we were getting lunch at Cosmic Ray's and I wanted to say hi to him but thought that might seem a bit stalkerish...

Yeah of course at the beginning of the show while you are waiting to get in a lady shows up with an owl. Such a beautiful owl and starts talking about them and how they are so special and the traits they have.

Then they open the doors and you are welcome to sit where you want. They start preparing a show bringing birds and they do tricks and the ppl in the show are funny too. It was very interesting.

I would recommend everyone to do it at least once. I liked it.
My traveling buddy loved it she loves animals so she was very interested.

Haha, I know! Mike and alll my friends who go to other schools were off in March. I hated having to wait so long for my break but now I'm glad. We get off for Passover and Easter with the public schools around here! Good luck with getting your hearing aid fixed. My best friend in high school had hearing aids in both ears and always had to have the tubing fixed, what a pain.

I hope things quiet down soon! When are you done for the summer?!

It is a pain just because we have to drive an hour and half to get there. But, I've been going to Iowa City since I was 3, and they did give me the gift of hearing in my only ear so I'm thankful for them. I've only had my hearing aid for about 2 or 3 years now and I'm still getting used to sounds that I never heard before.

Finals for me are the week of May 11-15 so after the 15th school is DONE! Haha, but...I have to admit, sis and I will probably start coordinating our clothes for vacation before that. We always do. for the past three trips, we also started putting each outfit for each day in it's own big zip lock baggy. Seriously, once you suck the air out of the bag-they take so much less room in your suitcase! It's so nice! Plus, then you don't have to worry about something leaking out and getting on your clothes! So, we coordinate what outfits we're each going to wear based on where we're going that day, then we label the bags and pack them. So much more room for shoes and other fun stuff!

Right now it seems like so much fun but by the time I actually have to pack, I know I'll be laying in bed with the air-conditioner on, watching a movie and not wanting to pack I never thought of putting my outfits in bags, that's a good idea! Do you use regular Ziploc bags or the special ones with the pump you can attach to them to suck out the air that I always see on infomercials?!!

Astro Orbiter ~ OMG. I HATE this thing! It's so fast and it makes me wanna puke! I rode it once a couple of years ago and that was enough for me! The kids love it though. They rode this past time with Ashley. Even she said she wont do it again and she loves mess like that!

FOW ~ We've never been to that.

I've never done FOW but I really want to! It looks like an interesting show. We've only done Astro Orbiter once and while I really liked it, my mom HATED it. Her head was between her knees the entire time... she is not a heights person!

Hope everything goes well with getting your tubing replaced! Do you know any ASL? Sign language is something I've always wanted to learn. My high school offered classes in it because we had a deaf and hard of hearing program but my schedule never had time! I CAN sign my name but... it's only 3 letters.

It's been so weird getting used to things. I sometimes have to ask "What's that noise?" Or "What is that?" It took me FOREVER to get used to the sound of my car when I was driving. The sound of the air conditioner/heater/vent still annoys me though! And the overhead projector in class annoys me too! lol.

We just use the regular ziploc bags, the big ones. Then you just squeeze the air out and zip it up!

As for ASL, I only know the alphabet. lol. I was born deaf in my right ear and had to have ear tubes put in my left ear since I was 3. But then I got a really bad ear infection about 2 or 3 years ago after they took my ear tube out. So, that's how I got my hearing aid. Now, while growing up and even know, I have relied on reading lips. I don't even notice that I do it anymore unless someone points it out. Also, we have the words at the bottom of our t.v.'s.

He's still sensitive about people not understanding him. I understand him fine, but my ear is trained, being a special ed teacher, to pick up on subtleties others miss. He refuses to make phone calls to deal with business, though, because people ask him over and over to repeat stuff.

I love how much getting the air out saves in space.

This is our first summer trip. It should mean we can pack a lot more, being that the clothes are all smaller, too. . .

ETA: Of course, we'll still love you. After all, what do you think we'd do, disown you? We Disney fanatics have to stick together. I feel bad I've been a little behind on your PTR. I've been sick this week and haven't felt like spending any time on the computer until today.
