~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

Attraction of the Day...

Space Mountain

I'm SO sad that Space will be closed this trip! Booooo! :sad1: Well, for those of you who have read my 2 previous TR's have heard this story! This was back when Space first opened. My grandma and grandpa took my uncle, my mom, and my dad (they were dating! haha) to WDw for their first time. My uncle had heard about Space somewhere and wanted everyone to go on it with him. Well, he didn't tell anyone what it was! AND...my grandpa was having back problems when they got to WDW and when they got off Space, he realized that the ride had put his back into place! :rotfl:

Update....

Here's some of the new stuff I got this weekend for WDW:

I love your new bag and clothing! You'll have to let us know how the VS flip flops work out; I've been debating them!

my best friend from high school has some of those VS flip flops. she wears them all the time so they must work!

okay....space mountain! it holds a special place in my heart because it was the first roller coaster i ever rode. we went to disney world for the first time when i was 8 and i had ridden some of the other stuff at opryland, but nothing like space mountain. i was scared to death but i loved it and it continues to be one of my favorite attractions at MK.

my favorite MEMORY of space mountain is when we went in 1992 and my little brother was 5. it was his first time riding and he insisted that he ride it. you could tell he was a little nervous but he wanted to do it anyway. well, he was sitting behind me and as we're going up the big incline at the beginning i hear a little voice behind me going, "hee hee" a la michael jackson. see, he LOVED michael jackson as a kid. anyway, it was cracking me up and when i got off i asked him why he was singing like michael jackson on space mountain and he said, "because i was scared and wanted to make myself laugh." :rotfl: crazy kid!

I loooove the Vera bag. Too cute! The AE clothes are adorable, too! And the flip-flops. Love it all! :)

My favorite memory of Space Mountain is from our 2006 trip when it was just me, my brother & sister. It was both of their 1st times on the coaster since when we had went in 2001, they were of course too small. I just remember hearing them both giggling the whole time and shrieks of joy. One of my fondest memories of WDW ever!

Hi! All over the Fit Flops. I have a pair in my Amazon shopping cart right now... I think they will be good for the park, b/c of the support and the design of the sole... get more exercise out of all that walking! The style I am looking at has a leather top, not the fabric strap... I have seen them on others, but this time I am going to give them a try. ;)

I love Space Mountain! One of the best memories I have is just listening to my sister on the ride. As my dad says, she has kind of this combined scream/laugh the entire time. It's so funny.

There was also a time when we were getting off with this other guy and his 2 young kids. The entire way out of the building the boy kept saying "that was SOOOOOOOOOOO fun!" It was cute. :goodvibes

And I love your new purchases too. :thumbsup2

Awww, I loveeeee your VB bag! I'm so addicted to VB stuff that when the catalogs come in the mail I have to throw them right out or I'll buy wayyyy too much stuff haha  And those AE shorts are too cute too, I want them!

Space Mountain I rode once and I'm so sad that its going to be closed when we go because I really loved it!

Ooo shopping, one of my favorite subjects. Some great purchases, those AE tops are really cute.

Attraction of the Day...

I guess I don't have any real big memories from this one...Just that we love going on Snow White during Wishes! We walk right on it every time! :thumbsup2

I don't have a real memory for this one. I just love waving goodbye to Dopey at the end. :goodvibes

The first time my youngest DBro rode SM, he sat behind me and sang "Free Bird" by Lynard Skynard at the top of his lungs to try to calm himself down. It was too funny. I laughed the whole ride. :lmao:

Now about your shopping finds: :lovestruc CUTE! :lovestruc Your VB bag is totally adorable!!! I've already changed my mind about the one I was going to get. :rolleyes1 I just found out that there's a small store that sells them near my house, so I'm going to go look around there to help me decide which one to get. Your AE finds are cute too. I especially love the shorts. Also, I can't wait to hear whether or not the VS flip flops work. :thumbsup2

I love your purchases. I've never heard of Fit Flops. I'll have to check them out.

Space Mtn. I used to go to DL every year in high school to participate in Magic Musical Days. I was a tall flag twirler in the marching band, and the marching band would march down main street, stop and perform in front of the castle, and then march back out. We would have the best time. We always got a free day in DL, during the week, in November. Think NO CROWDS. My girlfriends and I would RUN down the queue for SM. It was like a race because, seriously, no one would be there until the very very end. So we were riding the ride and I looked up and one of the asteroids looks like a huge chocolate chip cookie. And I shouted, Look! A chocolate chip cookie! And from then on, we always had to spot the chocolate chip cookie asteroid during the ride.

So, when we went to WDW, I was excited to see if there was the same graphic. Sure enough. And I shouted, LOOK! A chocolate chip cookie! I had my little walk down memory lane. Good times.:goodvibes

I LOVE the bag!!! Girl, you are doing a LOT of shopping and I'm jealous!

Haha. Thanks! I was standing there forever deciding which bag I wanted and finally decided on that one.

Love your new stuff! The color of the bag's really cute. And are those the Fit Flops?!

Glad you like the bag...yep those are the fit flops!

I'm sad it's gonna be closed too!

Haha, shopping is the BEST subject.

Haha, it does look like a choc.chi cookie doesn't it?! I'm glad I'm not the only one to think so.

Attraction of the Day...

Splash Mountain

I will never forget being so scared of this ride when I was little! It took me and my sis forever to finally work up the courage to ride. This was way back before fast passes, so I remember our first time riding, we had to wait in line for 2 HOURS. Yeah. 2 hours! :scared1: Dad didn't ride it because he gets motion sickness, so they let mom sit inbetween me and my sis since we were nervous. I remember getting off and telling dad how cool it was. :)
