OK. My turn. I need to make my ADRs on April 19. July hours just came out so I figured out what day we would be in what park. (This is subject to change once Tour Guide Mike schedule comes out for July.) We had a family meeting tonight and this is what we came up with. We decided on the dining plan after much discussion. It will be me, DH, DD17, DD13.

Sat. - arrive late, if time - Planet Hollywood (not DDP)
Sun - AK - Share 2 CS at Yak & Yeti (lunch), Share 2 CS at Wolfgang Puck (dinner)
Mon - MK - Cinderella Castle lunch
Tues - DHS - Mama Melrose FDP
Wed - EPCOT - Chefs de France dinner
Thurs - sleep in day/MK night - Chef Mickey dinner
Fri. - EPCOT - Tokyo Dining dinner
Sat. - MK - Crystal Palace breakfast (lunch/dinner doesn't appeal to us)
Sun - checkout - Beaches & Cream lunch (not DDP) - separate hotel reservation for 1 night with AAA rate after our 7/4 deal

Good things about schedule:
See good range of characters: Princesses, Fab 5, Pooh characters
DD13 HAS to eat in the Castle and see princesses
DH requested Chefs
DD13 requested Tokyo dining
DD17 requested Italian (either Mama Melrose or Tutto)

Bad things about schedule:
DD13 doesn't like any food at Castle lunch, so wants the kids hotdog :scared1: but I thought it was better than paying 2 credits for everyone to have french toast
Only 2 totally new restaurants and 2 meals where we've eaten before but new seating (lunch/dinner vs. breakfast)

It MAY be DD17's last time with us on a family trip since she will graduate HS next year and nothing is guaranteed after that. :sad2: I think we hit the biggies.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Maggie

Looks like fun! The only thing I will say is that Tutto Italia is WAYYY better than Mama Melrose (in my humble opinion:goodvibes) I know you can't get the Fantasmic Package that way, but you can still go see the show. The one time we did the package, I didn't think it was worth it.

I know! My DD actally preferred Tutto over Mama Melrose, but I couldn't fit in another EPCOT day. We really wanted to do EPCOT at night on our swim day, but FW has EMH that night and so I thought we better avoid that park. Although maybe it wouldn't be too bad if we just stuck around WS????

plan looks good. There's not much to do in Epcot WS during evening EMH-basically Norway & Mexico...most of WS closes with Illuminations.

We think the Fantasmic dining package is worth it, more than ever, because the crowds for F! have been huge since they dropped so many showings...with only 2 or 3 shows a week there have been reports of people lining up 2 hours before the show. At least with the package you can show up at 45-60 min. and wait in your seat.

It might be a final family trip, but you might be surprised about the "pull" of Disney...after not going to Disney for many years, we celebrated youngest DD's high school graduation in 2007, thinking that was a last hurrah for family vacations. Ha! Here we are, going for the 3rd May trip in a row, with DD who is now finishing her sophomore year in college.

Have fun!

No. We wouldn't do EMH at WS. I just meant that since it was an evening EMH at FW, the park overall might be busy and maybe better to avoid. We would just go to World Showcase around 6 pm or so and walk around WS until Illuminations.

And thanks for the cheering up about maybe it not being our last trip! I'm not handling it very well for my oldest to be going to college. The good thing is she is most likely going to a college in town (although probably not staying at home). So it won't be so bad.

It looks good to me! Have you been to Planet Hollywood before? If so, I'd try the new TRex instead. Other than that I wouldn't change anything. :)

And I agree with catne - we've had so many "last" family trips I can't even count them! LOL Ours are 23 (married), 20 & 18 and they still get upset if we don't take them with us everytime!

I'm not sure we are even going to have time on arrival date to eat dinner. My younger DD is spending the month before our Disney vacation with Grandma/Aunt/Uncle in Tampa, Florida. We are flying into Tampa and picking up DD13. My plan is to leave early afternoon and arrive around dinner time to check in to Disney hotel. However, who knows what plans my MIL has! I'm sure I will get a guilt trip because we are spending some time at Disney instead of with them. (We will see them other times this year. This is just our family vacation time.)

So, I am not going to plan any dinner for arrival night. I was only saying Planet Hollywood because of the voucher you get with the Disney package. I thought about TRex because I could get a gift card with reward points, but I am not sure.
