Well, here goes I am going to start my trip report with the first thread which will help others with airplane info. I called Delta Airlines yesterday and inquired as to my seating arrangements, luggage etc. When I first called I was transferred to an agent who really did not even know what an aisle chair was  so I was transferred to someone else:thumbsup2 the next agent was more knowledgeable about the procedures. First question was can I transfer to a manual wheel, so I let her know I could not transfer. So she did tell me that I was allowed to bring my electric wheelchair right up to the aircraft, where I would transfer to an aisle chair. I told her I was traveling with my mother who uses a cane and needs to elevate her feet because she had some blood clot issues recently, and DH:love: She told me that my husband might be"bumped" from his seat in the bulkead row in someone's with a service animal should need the space. I totally understand that, but let's hope that will not happen since DH takes care of both of US.:lmao:

She asked me what type of battery my chair had wet, dry or gel because it makes a big difference on how they are handled.

I then asked her regarding luggage and she told me the following:

Delta Airlines:

Only 1 checked baggage up to 50lbs. 62 inch = l × w × h:sad2:
1 Carryon up to 40lbs. 22 inch
1 personal item purse, laptop

1st Additional bag is $25 each way:scared1:

I hope this gives some good input.;)

Betty- the airlines can't and don't charge extra for an extra bag if it's for medical equipment. I did have to let them examine my bag a few years ago to prove it was med equipment inside but then the extra fee was waived.---Kathy

I was referring to regular bags nothing to do with medical stuff.
