Our honeymoon and all the zebra butts you could ask for!!!

Next was a walk around WS and lunch. DH had quick service meal at Japan, but seeing as I'm a bit of a picky eater I chose to go a different route.....I ate American. Hahaha DH still teases me about this, but it IS a country in WS so I still claim that I ate at one of the countries!!!

Too funny, on my first trip to Epcot I also ate at the American pavilion because I am very picky too. The second time I ate at Mexico, still not very adventurous but at least another country. Hopefully on our next trip I will try some of the bakeries in the other countries so I can say at least I tried. Good to know I am not the only one, lol.

I am really enjoying your trip report and can't wait to read more. You and your husband make a really cute couple. :)

Hey, I was gone for awhile from you TR, but now I am back! Love the Brother Bear story!! ;)

Glad you're still reading along, thanks!! Glad you liked the bear story...I definitely find the humor now, but at the time I about jumped out of my skin. haha!

Yay!!! Glad to know I'm not the only one either. I'm not all that adventurous when it comes to food, but do branch out a ibt from time to time.....just not this trip! ;-)

Awww thanks for the sweet comment, I really appreciate that and glad you're liking the TR, I'm SO sorry I've been gone so long, but I'm here now and not leaving until we finish up.

Hope all is well with you! We wanna see how it all turns out!!! :flower3:

Thanks! I'm sorry it's taken me so long. Life has gotten SO crazy the past month, I really appreciate anyone who's still hanging in there with me though.

I'M BACCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone, I am so so SO sorry for leaving you hanging for so long. The past month has gotten crazy. We've had new babies born (not ours ;) ) and a million birthday parties, changed work schedules, cookouts, and vehincle problems which have finally been resolved thankfully.....so all in all I've barely had time for the computer at all and just a few quick posts on DIS lately. My deepest apologies, but I'm here now and not leaving until we get this done...by the end of the week is my intention. I've also been crazy busy finishing up plans for our next WDW trip which is coming up quick in Oct. I think all of our plans and ADR's are finalized so hopefully I can begin my pre trip report soon after this. I've never done one of those so we'll see how it goes.

Oh and somehow we came home with NO pictures from this night...not sure how that happened, but I'm sorry for the definite lack of photos. Guess I'll just have to be a REALLY good storyteller! :)
Alright, so where did we leave off? OH yeah.....heading to our Friday night at Epcot. We had a 6:45 reservation for Rose and Crown and had gotten there a bit early so we hit a couple of the rides we had missed a few days earlier....Honey I Shrunk the Audience and Figment (LOVE that guy!!) We then made our way over to the restaurant. There were literally hundreds of people trying to get walk up seats, but they were refusing anyone without and ADR, which I found interesting since there were a TON of empty tables. We were taken in immediately and were very fortunate to get an outdoor table with a fantastic view.

We had made 6:45 reservations thinking it would work out perfectly to be eating our dessert around 8 when Illuminations started, but as we got to our table DH and I both realized something strange about the same time.....the sun was still up and I mean REALLY up. All the sudden it dawned on us that the time had changed from daylight savings just the previous weekend. The fireworks schedule on the Disney website and even the guide we had picked up at the park that very day both said Illuminations at 8pm.....guess they also forgot about the time change so guess what that means......Illuminations would really be at 9. Why hadn't someone thought to change this online? Can't really get too upset because we didn't think of it either. We were a bit troubled at first, but mentioned the mishap to our waitress and she said that even though they have a two-hour rule there were tons of empty tables so she'd let it slide if we wanted to wait and stay for the show....SO sweet!!!

We took our time and talked with our waitress and a table nearby for a bit before finally ordering. I had the fish and chips which were AMAZING and DH had the surf and turf steak and fish which he said was good as well. I really should start taking food photos next time.

Since we were on DDP we had dessert included, but nothing was really sounding that good from the menu. The waitress suggested we try the Scotch cake. I'm not a huge fan of anything liquor flavored, but since it was no real money lost either way we opted to try. OMG can I just say that if any of you haven't tried this you IMMEDIATELY drop everything and run straight to Florida, straight to Epcot and get this!!!:love::love:

WOW, it was good! For those of you who haven't had it let me paint you a picture. It's a big square of chocolate cake, a very moist yummy fudgy chocolate cake. It's split in half and filled with a light fluffy chocolate mousse (the best part) and then it's covered on top with a thick, rich dark chocolate ganache, which is where the scotch part comes in, but honestly it's not too strong if that's a concern and just makes it incredible!!! Oh and did I mention you get TWO of these yummy cakes on your plate? I literally had a dream about this dessert a few weeks ago. :dance3:

After stretching out our meal for a good long time we did end up getting to see Illuminations during our fabulous dessert and this has to be one of the best places to watch the show, especially without having to push and cram in with everyone else wanting a good view like in other areas. We are definitely making our reservations here again in the future to catch the show.....although next time we'll pay closer attention to the time of year and what time Illuminations REALLY starts.

Finally after dinner and fireworks we made our way slowly to the bus and headed back to AKL. I believe we got back in time to do the night vision animal viewing again and see our favorite giraffes again then walked around the grounds a bit and called it night.

Again I am sorry to everyone for being gone so long, the next update will come much quicker I promise. Next up is our last full day (sad :sad1:)

What a nice CM to let you guys stay and watch the show. Illuminations over a wonderful dessert like you described sounds so nice. So sad that you are coming up on your last day, but another trip is just around the corner. You will have to post your PTR link here when you get it started!

Wow, how did we get here already? The last full day....always a sad time. And once again I apologize for the lack of pictures this day, but there will be a few for the last morning in the next update rest assured. We decided since it was a Saturday and Spring Break we'd give the park a break for the day and go DTD and do some shopping.

It was VERY hot and humid this day, which it hadn't been that way most of the week so it was a shock to walk out into that morning. We took the bus to DTD after letting off nearly everyone on the bus and Blizzrd Beach first. Man, how I wish we'd been joining them, but since there isn't a lot DH could do there we didn't plan any water parks.

Once at DTD we spent forever in the Christmas store. This is my favorite store and we both are crazy over Christmas so I could have stayed in there all day. Pus with the decor and paintings of snow on the walls it made the Emp. that day a little more bearible. lol After purchasing a "first Christmas" ornament for ourselves and a few things for my mom we left and split up for a bit. DH went to trade pins and I went to the scrapbook store (VERY lacking if I do say so myself, plus I've heard they closed it now :-( ) We met up later and hit the housewares store (sorry, can't remember the name) Mickey's Pantry I believe or something like that. We then wandered from store to store buy a few things for ourselves and some gifts to take home to my two little cousins. We had recieved a gift card with our vacation package and needed to spend the rest of it...NOT a problem!! Haha

On a side note it was kind of funny because the space shuttle was due to land that day and my DH is a HUGE MAJOR CRAZY Nasa and space nut and had been excited all week to get to hear the sonic boom as it came in. Well it happened during the time we had split up for a bit and i heard it, but he didn't. I felt so bad for him and didn't even realize he had missed it until he heard some people in the World of Disney store talking about it.

AFter a quick lunch and a few more stores we were hot and grumpy! It's hard to believe anyone could be in a bad mood at Disney or even on your honeymoon, but it was just SO miserably hot and DTD doesn't have a lot of shade and we were just getting a bit snippy so we decided to call it quits early and head back to AKL and spent the afternoon swimming and relaxing by the pool. It was SO nice and just what we needed.

After several hours we went back to the room to clean up and get ready for our big last night out and it was certainly a fun and....."interesting" one. More on that in the next update!!

Hopped over from your PTR.

A few thoughts...

:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc your wedding dress!!!

Never thought of doing the safari later in the morning. Were all the animals that close?

Female Mickey is rather disturbing but a male Tink would make my hair change colour! SHE's my fav and I like HER the way she is! :lmao::laughing:

RNC is one of our fav restaurants. The CMs there have always treated us superbly.

Thank you SO much!! I've had some shocked responses, but some really great ones too, I'm glad to know you liked it!

They really were. There were TONS more of them and many of them were right at the road or as near as they could get. It was probably just a fluke because they say you should do it early morning or evening when it's cooler which makes sense, but that one time around noon we saw so much more than early morning.

Yes, female Mickey was very disturbing, but you're right...male Tink would just be horrorfying! LOL

And I loved RaC...it was SO yummy and the CM's were very kind and friendly especially in allowing us to stay so long because of the mistake. It was a wonderful experience and if you continue to follow my PTR you'll see we have plans to return on this next trip. :-)

Thank you for joining in, I appreciate the interest!

It's fun to find a trip report just finishing because I didn't have to wait at all for the next installment :goodvibes

I really enjoyed your trip report. A nice mix of story telling and pictures. I love the one of you and your DH in front of Expedition Everest.

Thanks for the warning about the curry biscuits. Ewwww is right.

I think your wedding dress was simply stunning!! The detail was exquisite. Years ago (23 to be exact) I stunned my family by having black and white bridesmaid dresses. Dare to be different :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing your trip. I hope you and your hubby have many more wonderful trips together to our Happy Place!

So right now I am at the very beginning of your TR where you get excited by the palm trees. Don't feel too strange, I get excited at the mere sight of land under me. I live in Hawaii and most of my trips end up being to California, right on the coast, so all I ever see is ocean, ocean, and more ocean. It's a rare treat to see....land from way up high.

Thank you so much for the kind words about my TR, ur photos, and my dress....you're really sweet. I had a different dress at first with just a little color but mostly white and as much as I loved it I still don't photograph well in white because of my fair complexion and hair so we did a last minute switch three months before the wedding. No one knew except my mom and my aunt and even she wouldn't have known if it hadn't been for the fact we needed to switch my cousin's flower girl dress as well so it would match better. Everyone was quite shocked to say the least, but all seemed to love it. I certainly fell in love with it and enjoyed being a bit different.

As for the biscuits you're right...ewww definitely and I also love comin gacross nearly completed TRs....no lng gaps in time waiting. I promise this one will be finished some time this century. LOL

Well, here it is our last night already. :-( I'm guessing you guys are probably thinking "FINALLY!!" LOL Sorry, life just gets in the way sometimes.

So, for our last big night we decided to do the Hoop de doo Musical Revue. We knew we'd have to leave in plenty of time since we had to go to a park and then take another bus to FW. What we didn't know is that once we got to FW we'd have to take yet another bus back to the show.....the things you miss in the guides books! Anyway we made it, but just barely!! The show was awesome and the food was fantastic. I thought I was going to have to drag my DH away from the ribs at the end of the night, haha. Our table was right directly in front of the state which was so COOl! We got called our for being on our honeymoon and everyone cheered and it was neat and a bit embarrassing at the same time, but fun. My DH thoroughly enjoyed the corny humor which I knew he would so I was glad we went. I REALLY wish I had some pics from the night, but sadly I ran out and left the camera in the hotel room by accident. I promise though this is the last post without pics.

After the show it was a nice night....very cool compared to the intense heat and humidity of the day so DH suggested we take the ferry over to MK instead of the bus. I agreed and this is where things started to go a bit bad.

First off Wishes was just ending, we got to see some of it from the dock before boarding which was neat, but then once we got on the boat DH had to stay on the inside part being in a wheelchair it was the only place they could put him and because we were the last ones on there were no seats left so I just stood in there with him. That in itself was not a problem, but when we got out in the middle of the water we noticed the boat was slowing down and even stopping a few times, then restarting and stopping. We weren't sure what that was about, but after a while we realized we weren't getting anywhere fast. We were told by the CM's that because the wind was so high that night they couldn't dock the boat at MK because it wasn't safe and were afraid they'd hit the dock because of the high wind gusts so we were just gonna have to wait it out for a bit.

Remember earlier when I said it was much cooler? Let's now change that to just plain COLD!! I had on short and a tshirt and was in desperate need of a jacket. The wind blowing through the doorway was almost icy....it was crazy. The turn the boat off and there we just sat for over 30 minutes!!! After a while I was getting a bit thirsty and realized I had a bottle of water in my bag from earlier at the park and DH had half of a coke left. I had my bottle out and had just taking the lid off his coke to hand him when...........the boat restarted and suddenly lurched forward!! This is where my night goes from great to cold to humiliating. Next thing I know I'm flat on my butt on the floor and both the bottle of coke and bottle of water were pouring out onto my lap! :scared1::eek::lmao::rotfl:

The people next to us jumped to my rescue and helped me up and made sure I was ok, which I was....just soaking wet and bright red. I was covered from my shorts down....let's just say I was glad it was completely dark out and that I had on dark shorts too since......well.....it looked more like I had a different kind of "accident" if you know what I mean. lol Eventually we did get the boar docked and got on a bus to have a long sticky ride back to AKL. I knew things had been too perfect this trip, something was bound to happen. Oh well, even I can laugh at it now although then I didn't find it quite so funny.

Upon reaching AKL DH went out to do the animal night viewing and I went up to the room to change and met him down there a few minutes later. We were both SO sad for it to be over. We spent the rest of the night doing the night-vision viewing, walking around the pool area, sitting by the fire, and then going to the different overlooks. We spent a really long time on one of the overlook balconies since we were the only ones out there and there were a TON of animals gathered. Even in the dark you could see them really well with the binoculars. And yes, for those of you who have read all of my TR up to this point there were three zebras all standing together in the back and yes ALL of them were facing away so we once again had a fantastic view of their backsides. Do zebras even have feads and faces?? :lmao:

After an hour of staring at zebra butts a mother and son came out to join us and we bag talking with them. They had just arrived that day which was SO depressing since we weren't ready to leave yet. We talked with them a while since this was their first WDW trip ever and gave them some advice and suggestions before finally heading up to pack and go to bed one last time.

Up next is our last morning in the World before heading back to reality. Join me for one more segment with our last meal at our last park visit. Anyone care to guess where? I'll give you a hint....it was a character breakfast.

Perhaps AK at Tuskers? I am looking forward to your next update! popcorn::

Good guess, but sadly no. I had tried up until the day before our trip to get Tusker House at some point during the trip, but never got it. Luckily if you're reading my PTR for the upcoming trip you'll see we do have it booked for next time. Yay!! Haha

Well here it is our last full day.....a moment of silence please for this sad moment........

Ok, well since no one guessed it I'll just have to tell you. We had one last meal planned and it was for Crystal Palace at MK. I was so sad when I woke up, I know I should be grateful that we had 8 days of fun especially since this was the longest vacation I had ever had, but I think it's always a little sad when we know we have to leave our happy place and return to the real world.

As I mentioned before we had near perfect weather all wekk long, it was amazing!! The first three days were actually coolish, the next two were hot, but managable, and the final two full days were so humid it was crazy, but hey it's Florida. This last morning when I woke up I could tell it was gray and dark out. Apparently from what I heard others saying we had had one heck of a storm during the night, but DH and I slept right through it and never knew anything of it. Thankfully it was only cloudy though and not raining anymore. We quickly showered, dressed, and finished the packing that we hadn't gotten done the night before. We went downstairs and left our luggage with the front desk and confirmed our ME pickup time. We then stopped by the gift shop one more time to exchange a shirt I had bought for a smaller size and then headed for the buses. The MK bus that day was really crowded, but the trip went by fast since I ran into a professor who taught at the college I went to. I'd never met her when I was there but since she was wearing a UofL shirt I just had to ask. We talked to her and her family all the way there which passed the time until just as we were pulling up to MK the heaven's opened up and what seemed like a mansoon started!!!

Oh great, a total downpour and no panchos or unbrella. We hid undercover as long as we could, but it was only about ten minutes until our ADR and it wasn't letting up so we made a run for it. It was only about 65 degrees and a VERY cold rain, but we finally made it. The reason I've told you all of this is so that you will understand when you see our pics that we do NOT normally look like that. Haha I call it our "drowned rat" looks! And why was it that CP had their air conditioning running full blast? bbrrrrrrrr!!!! :cold:

We checked in at the podium and they started to take us to a table, but then saw our buttons and ears which we were wearing one last time and asked if we were on our honeymoon and asked us to wait a moment. 5 minutes later then took us to a table that with a congratulations sign and a huge heart made out of mickey ear confetti. SO cute!! I swear I took a pic, but can't find it anywhere. I also scraped off the confetti and brought it home to put in my scrapbook.

I've heard good and bad things of CP....mostly good though, but I can definitely vouch for it that the food was excellent and the character interactions were fantastic!!! Tigger and Eeyore are my favorites and they even came by twice, Eeyore also gave me a kiss and a hug!

Again I warn you we were soaked to the bone that's why our hair looks this way. haha

Wow, DH was getting scruffy!! He never lets that happen at home, but insists shaving on vacation is not for him so he won that argument.

2009_0328Diney_0430.jpg

Geesh we look pathetic, lol I feel bad for showing thse, but we had such a great time who cares!!

Would you believe the minute we sat down the rain stopped and sun started coming out? After eating our plan was to walk around, get last minute pics, and do just one or two rides since we had about an hour to kill, but guess what happened just as we were leaving........the clouds opened up again and poured. What was going on? Was it just bad luck or were our dark moods adding to the weather? Either way we just ran through the rain and went straight to the bus instead and back to the AKL. We walked around, snapped a few pics, and crashed on the couch to watch some classic disney cartoons while we waited for ME.

I don't remember much about the ride to the airport since I believe I fell asleep. lol Our flight was delayed because of the weather, but only by an hour. Once we finally got going it was a smooth uneventful trip home. (just the way I like my flying to be!! :) )

It was official....we were back in Kentucky and hundreds of miles from Mickey. and....what was this.....it was FREEZING!!!!!!! :scared1:

It never occured to me in packing to take warm clothes for the trip home. When we left FL it was around 75 degrees and humid from the rain, but here in KY it was 38!! Ouch!!! That will definitely snap you back into reality, lol.

Wwll, it was a fantastic honeymoon, my best disney trip ever (so far) and lots of great memories. thank you to all of you for sharing it will me!!!! And if you're interested and haven't already checked out my PTR feel free to pop on over as I plan our October trip. 58 more days!!:banana:

Thanks everyone and have a magical day! :wizard:

Aw, I think the pictures turned out great! So sad to go home, esp from Disney! But hey, you've got a great trip just around the corner!!

I think you CP pics are adorable! :thumbsup2 Good thing our guys look handsome scruffy. My DH says the same thing when on vacation ;)

What is the link to your PTR? I really enjoyed this report and want to get on board for the next adventure. popcorn::
