Sunday 16th Nov

Today is a bit vague to be honest because Im relying on memory and a few photos as I didn’t make any notes.

We woke up ready to do EMH and again Charys and I didn’t want any breakfast so DH went in alone. He also tried to find out what was happening with the flight as we still didn’t know how we were getting home and he was starting to get quite stressed about it. He still couldn’t find anything out as all they would say is phone back after 9.00am. but at least we had some other numbers to try.
We made sure everything was packed and left the cases at the left luggage place at the hotel and got the bus to the park.

We were there for about 8.00 and headed straight to Fantasyland where we probably did Peter Pan, Carrousel, Dumbo, Tea cups and I think Pinnochio was open today. We then headed to Discoveryland to do Buzz.

By this time it was 9.00 so DH decided he wanted to try and phone the airport again so we went hunting for a phone in that area that took coins as opposed to phone card. The ones in both arcades were card ones but we eventually found one near City Hall. I feel as though we have a good knowledge of the phones now and at one point joked about taking photos of them for quiz questions.
We tried to phone but couldn’t get through at all. Charys and I went for some breakfast in the Cable Car bake shop while DH decided to go to City Hall to see if they could suggest anything. They were fantastic in here and spent over an hour on the phone trying to get something sorted but to no avail.

We had arranged that we would leave DH to it while Charys and I went to get FPs and try and get a few turns on BTM again. We queued again at the rope at the end of the arcade and had just got there when they let the rope go so again we dashed to the ride. By the time we got there it was really busy and we knew it was either get FPs or queue. As we had the spare FPs as well we joined the queue to get them – but the queue seemed to be moving really slowly. We soon found out why 2 of the FP machines weren’t working so people were having to merge to get them. We must have queued for ages to get them. By the time we did the actual queue for BTM was out of the entrance. The FPs weren’t for another hour but we didn’t want to stand and queue all that time so decided to go on Phantom Manor instead as the queue for this wasn’t too bad.

By the time we had done this and got back to BTM DH was there waiting for us. It was almost time for FP so we joined the queue and rode twice in a row as we had 2 lots of FPs.
We then wandered over to Adventureland to ride POC for a last time.

By this time it was very busy again, we still had no idea how we were getting home so had decided to just forget about the rest of the day and have some lunch then go early to the airport.
We phoned BS transport to ask them to collect us early and then headed into the Village to Planet Hollywood, remembering at the last minute to exit the park through the middle arch and turn, wave and shout goodbye as is now tradition with us.

We enjoyed our meal at Planet Hollywood and then caught the bus back to the Kyriad. We sat in the reception area waiting for our taxi to take us to the airport.

We arrived at the airport at about 2.50 and went right to the check in desk to see if we could get on an earlier flight as we knew some were OK. We were allocated seats and assumed it would be for the later one (about 5.00) but then realised we had been put on the 3.20 flight which was boarding now. We had a mad dash through the passport control (where there was a massive queue), through security (where they whisked us to one side when they realised how close to take off our flight was) and joined the queue to board. Ive never been on a plane so quick.
Before we knew it we were back in England.

We’d had a great time and Charys had a fantastic birthday treat but we felt the trip was spoiled by the strike (not Disney’s fault) but both the Kyriad and City Hall had been fantastic in trying to help us sort it.
We loved the Kyriad and would definitely stay there again and loved the Christmas decorations but to me it was too long until Christmas – Id have enjoyed them more if we’d gone in December.

Sorry its taken so long to post this TR but I suppose better late than never. I’ll try and add some photos as well at some point.

Thanks for the reports :thumbsup2 I would have been really stressed in your situation, with all the uncertainty about your flight.

Overall though it sounds like you had a great time.

Your poor DH sounds like he spent most of your weekend trying to contact Air France :sad2: . Really please your DD had a great birthday trip though. Thanks for posting your trippie :)

Great report, shame about the strike but at least Charys had a lovely birthday:goodvibes

Thanks everyone

It was very stressful not knowing what was going to happen more for DH as he had to get back for an important work event on the Monday.

I tried not to let it get in the way and Charys was great - she just kept saying she knew it was important when i apologised for yet more trips to phone booths.

Overall we had a great time and although we lost most of Sunday we gained the Friday by having to arrive early and it was so much quieter on that day.

Shame about the strike affecting your trip but glad you still enjoyed yourselves. :goodvibes

And don't apologise for the short delay, I still have my trippie from last summer to post!
