Our Halloween Pop adventure with a 32 year old Disney Newbie -Trip report link pg. 34

I was not at the CM Grand Gathering... where can I read about the experience? I am still trying to get through all my subscribed threads...

I'll be there.:thumbsup2

Awesome - I can't look too forward to writing it though, cause that would mean my trip is over :sad2:

Colleen (Goofy22) wrote about it in the Christmas Group pre-trip report I think.

I'm so far behind, but I wanted to say that your DD looked super cute on her first day! I hope all is going well for her this school year.

As for CM, I've heard good and bad. I've never eaten there so I can't give a review. We did eat at GG in November and the food was okay. I'm glad we went because it was cool to experience the rotating restaurant and the characters came around several times. With that being said, we won't go back. It's nice to try once IMO.

The thing about TRs. It's like being back on vacation. Obviously, it's not the same, but it really does take you back!:thumbsup2

Thank you - she is still loving first grade after a week, so I think it's going to be a good year :thumbsup2 We liked GG too, I think I'm going to keep Chef Mickey's - I want SIL to see the Contemporary.

I am looking forward to that aspect. My prior trip I had spent so much time on the Dis (but didn't get into/find the the TR section for some reason) but really had nothing to read or post when I got back. Now I'll keep reliving trips through other people and my TR :woohoo:

I think that will be good too - conserve energy! I think we will eat at DTD for dinner - I want to try either Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwhich. We may be there for a meal on our last day too - since I plan to take Maddie TOT'ing at DTD. So we can eat at the place we don't eat on Tuesday.

And you are so right about Chef Mickey's - everyone has different opinions and expectations. That's why I like to get a lot of opinions and then decide :thumbsup2

We ate at Earl of Sandwich for the first time this trip and it was SO GOOD. I'd definitely recommend eating there! :thumbsup2

And a random question...you ready for the Packers to start soon?!

Sweet First Day of School pix! :goodvibes

Our plan for MNSSHP day is the same.... wake up "whenever" then relax at the pool until party time!

I've heard the mixed reviews about CM's too, but I figure we go for the characters, not the food anyway, so I'm going to give it a shot this year!
Watching the monorail glide through the resort is so cool!

Love the First day of school pics to cute!!
Welcome home! I hope you had a great trip! Were you at the Chef Mickey's gathering? Hopefully it was just a bad night for the chef (the real one I mean ;) ) Can't wait to hear all about your trip!
Ok just to clear things up the Chef Mickey's wasn't a GG Tammy was there on the 24th and I was there on the 26th so the chef was probbaly having a bad week!:) Don't get me wrong Chef Mickey's is never amazing it's just always good! We go there for the character interactiom mostly the fod there is 2nd. But the food like i said was always good this time it wasn't . But if you have never been there I would definitely recommend trying it the atmosphere alone with the charcters and napkin twirling is too fun and could possibly make up for bad for if you go on an off day! But I would definitely tryit once and decide from there like I said this is always our must do restaurant we were just really disappointed this time w the food. But the desserts were yummy if that helps they had Mickey domes! and Iaccidentally erased my pics on my camera from the first couple days so I have no pics of chef mickeys I'm so mad because I had alot!
LOL. I want to eat at both of those places when I'm there. I've eaten at Earl's before and enjoyed it. I've heard some good things about Wolfgang's so I definitely want to try it.
I didn't get to eithe rof these but they are definitely on the list next August I've heard lots of good things about both!!
Let me know what you think if you go to Chef Mickey's. Since my cousins are staying at BLT, they may want to take the kids there.
No matter what the reviews say definitely tell them to try it! It's definitely worth it just for the atmosphere with kids!!!:thumbsup2

Definitely go for the Characters and atmosphere because like I said the food there is never better than good so it's mediocore anyways! But the atmosphere would definitely make up for it as long as they are not expecting a lavish meal! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the compliments on the first day of school pictures - it was a good day! We have been to Chef Mickey's once and thought it was pretty good. Yours wasn't the first bad review I read lately, that's what got me worried. I have decided to keep it though :)

Thanks for the first day compliments :) That sounds like a good party plan doesn't it :)

I am very excited for the Packers season to start - bring on the Bears!

haha. My mom and I went last year when she came to visit me at WDW and we went the first night of MNSSHP and having never been to a holiday party before (except pirate/princess in the spring) we had NO idea what to expect and wore normal clothes thinking its Sept 7?! and wow were we blown away by the costumes and halloween colors and felt out the crowd but then knew for MVMCP to wear the proper holiday colors!!!

That is so crazy the Halloween parties started already! I know they start early but geez, Sept. is a little too early for me!

Yeah - when we went in 2007 there were only 3 parties in September - now there are so many! Obivously it makes a lot of money for Disney :cool2:

I can't believe the MNSSHP has started!!!!!

Thanks for the links. How thoughtful of you!

Thanks also for the advice about going to Chef Mickey's. I think since they will be so close that it would be a shame if they didn't go.

That blog had some great pictures! The MK looks amazing. I seriously cannot believe how much they've amped up the decorations from when we went in '06. Other than some pumpkins on Main Street they had nothing like what they have now! :confused3

Sorry I haven't been around much - I worked all last weekend, Maddie had strep throat mid-week and I'm going out of town this weekend. I'll do some more planning next week.

A little excitement is that I got a new camera :thumbsup2
