I am going back 10 years, and we wanted about 100 BCV. We got them in two contracts, 40 and 60 because that’s how they became available. We did not have to pay closing costs, I know that’s different now. Many tell you here that Small contracts yield a slightly higher price at resale, but we have not sold any of our contracts, but that does appear to be true. But he only has 49 of the 100 points we waitlisted . Has this happened to anylne? I couldn't think of .reason why we would want to have i
partial points and potentially multi contracts. What would you have done??
I wonder if u have multiple contracts can u get chances to get moonlight magic on each one? If so that's a good perk for bringing friends and familyBut he only has 49 of the 100 points we waitlisted . Has this happened to anylne? I couldn't think of .reason why we would want to have i

The toughest thing about this offering is even if, down the line, you decide you want to downgrade, if the rest of your holdings are resale (post 2016), by selling either part of your split contract (49 points or 51 points), you'll lose all your membership perks. You would need more direct points to sustain the minimum 75 (or who knows what the minimum will be then) qualified points in your membership.
As I understand it once you are 'in' as a direct buyer, you're in. They would still be in possession of a direct point purchase.
Also, if this is the same contract and same use year, the system will allow you to use them as if they were one (sort of). Two allotments of points from the same pile. I say get what you can and wait for the rest.

We did pass . We actually own resale not grandfathered in so we need the 75 direct . (I'm actually not convinced we should buy direct but this is definitely a hubby thing since he feels we are missing out ) .So more of a feels thing but either way I'm not willing to break up into weird small contracts. I'm curious to seen how long it takes to call us back with the full amount.
I have 2 small VGF contracts, one 60 pt. and one 65 pt. I am hoping that if I eve have to sell one, it would still be of interest to someone being that this is a sold out resort. Would I be grandfathered in for the perks as a direct purchaser with a 65 pt contract ( or 60 pt. Which ever we kept)?Yes, there's been similar type reports periodically. If you were looking at 100 points and they would be qualifying you for perks I'd recommend no but it appears like you may already have that so it may not be part of the equation? Still, getting that call should mean your at the top of the list so choosing to stay there isn't really changing things much. There will likely be higher closing costs for 2 contracts vs 1 but you could double check. If you said no and they have already moved down the list I wouldn't worry and would just sit back and wait for the next call.
FWIW - I do not recommend small contracts anymore unless someone has a need for just a smaller amount of points. Yes, you can get a few dollars more when you go to sell but with direct closing costs that rival resale now and added transfer costs it more or less is still break even with a slightly larger contract. And 100 points is still a small contract. At this point I think having a 100 point contract is better than 2 small contracts and I personally wish I had not broken up a couple of direct purchases as much as I did.
