Love Epcot ! Test Track .. is one of our favorite rides in Epcot .. I LOVE the speed !!

Test Track is Demetri’s favourite Epcot ride and we all love the thrill of the speed! What are the details of the refurbishment for Test Track... anyone know? In any case, we had a blast as usual!

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Jan. 6, 2012 – Disney and General Motors have renewed their long-term business relationship with a new multi-year corporate alliance.
As part of the new alliance, GM will be actively involved with Walt Disney Imagineering in the development of a re-imagined, design-centric Test Track experience. The refurbished Test Track will be presented by one of GM’s most famous brands, Chevrolet. As Chevrolet marks its 100th anniversary, the new alliance agreement enables General Motors to tell its story in new and exciting ways to millions of Guests from around the world and continue as the official vehicle sponsor of Walt Disney World Resort.
“We are excited to renew our long-term alliance with General Motors,” said George Aguel, Senior Vice President, Corporate Alliances for the Walt Disney Company. “This unique agreement extends collaboration between two of the most recognized brands in the world, a relationship that spans over 30 years. The re-imagined Test Track Presented by Chevrolet will continue our shared goal of providing unique and innovative experiences that engage Disney guests in exciting and interactive ways.” ”

Plans call for closing the current GM Test Track in April 2012, with an anticipated opening of Test Track Presented by Chevrolet scheduled for fall 2012.
As part of the re-imagining, the Future World attraction will feature a sleek new “Chevrolet Design Center at Epcot” immersing Guests in the fascinating world of automotive design. Amid upbeat music, engaging media, dramatic lighting and a collection of Chevrolet concept cars and model vehicles, guests themselves will become automotive designers – and peer into the future of personal transportation in the process.
At interactive design and styling workstations, Guests will be able to create their own custom concept vehicles. The adventure will then shift into high gear as Guests buckle into their 6-person “SimCar” ride vehicle and put their design through its paces on the exhilarating hills, switchbacks and straight-aways of the Test Track circuit.
Their performance testing complete, Guests will move into a post-show area filled with special effects and be scored on how well their custom concept vehicle did. And of course, Guests will be able see the very latest Chevrolet vehicles in an all-new state-of-the-art showroom.

We never did the character spot either. I didn't want to wait. I always do the disney visa spot.

What luck that they were having characters outside the building too. You got Belle in her party dress! I've never met her that way.

I have never had the opportunity to wait in line at the Character Spot, but i can definitely see the appeal to waiting in one line for 5 characters, it makes it much quicker in the long run I think!

It's a very long line and I don't think I will wait in it again, I like to see all the same characters at Chef Mickeys where theres no line!!!!

You have to try Test Track this year! It is soo much fun! We love it.

I sit out quite a few rides especially cause Emma doesn't like them and I find it a pain to have to do a ride twice, so it's just easier.

The good thing is with me going next month I will ride all the MK rides I love a lot so I won't really mind sitting out in October. I wanna ride Space Mountain like 10 times in the middle of the night!!!!

Well.... since I have started seeing someone a little closer to home I may have to break it off with Goofy when I'm there next month, although this guy is a little goofy too!!!

We made a quick stop at this cooling off water play area and played chicken with the spouts. I think Eryka lost a game or two!

Then we headed into the Innoventions building looking at some of the exhibits....

.... and then Demetri saw the Sum of All Thrills Ride. Now the last time I went on one of these things I got such motion sickness it was crazy, so i told Demetri no way was I going on this ride. Natalie graciously fell for Demetri’s “please, please, please, please, please” mantra so off they went!


I was very happy that I got to take Demetri on and Eryka was old enough to ride alone. They only let you make it so intense by age and because I had Demetri ours couldn’t go upside down which was just fine with me! Eryka however did a lot of flips

Then we continued on to Spaceship Earth.

This was the first time me and the girls had been on this (yes I know how could I have possibly been to WDW this many times and not rode SE, why I don’t know but I hadn’t)

So we went on again so Emma could have a future.

Partway into this second ride, Demetri suddenly realized he no longer was holding the brand new 2011 bus we’d just bought not even an hour ago. Luckily when we got off, it had been turned in and the CM didn’t make us go to Lost and Found or anything like that.... she just searched through the articles and handed over the bus – whew!

The water play areas look like so much fun - I enjoyed seeing all the children playing around in them on our trip.

Ooh Sum of All Thrills sounds like so much fun! I wanted to try it but wasn't brave enough to go on it on my own!!

How can you not have been on SE before? I'm glad Emma got to see her future in the end and that the bus was returned on the spot.

how fun, I went on Spaceship earth for the first time on our last trip too, and I had been to WDW twice before

We really need to check out the interactive games and rides next time we go, you all look like you are having so much fun. Glad the ride with Demetri was somewhat mild

I love Spaceship Earth! I think that is my favorite ride at Epcot. I haven't been to Epcot since Oct. 2010 and that was just for one day of that trip I can't wait to go back we will be there for 2 days this time.

I did Sum of All Thrills last time but we didn't go upside down. We did one just like it at the Upsidedown museum here and I was so sick when we got off. I think River might have to do Sum of All Thrills by himself this year

I'm glad Demetri got his bus back and no one kept it!

Now at this point we had completed our list for the day and it was way too early to head to Chef Mickey’s so we decided to head to Mexico to go on another ride.

While on the ride I took a fireworks pic with my phone and tagged my good friend that I’d visited Mexico that day and thought of her. I can’t get a good pic of those fireworks with my regular camera!

They had some cool things in the shop (I have never really looked around in here)

Next we were off to our dinner reservation………………………
