Our Full Wedding Album from Blurb.com

your book looks amazing!

I had just decided that I wasnt going to get an album and was instead going to do a photobook like these. I've had experience with apples version, and shutterfly, but this website looks great and they're so much cheaper!

Thank you!

Okay, is there no end to your talents? You seem to be knowledgable about everything!!! What a stunning book!!

How nice :wizard: Looks like a fun wedding. I had a disney wedding at home, how nice to have it at different sites at disney. something you will always remember:wizard:

Definitely! :thumbsup2

 Beautiful

Is your wedding featured in a magazine? That's what the last photo looks like

Destination Weddings & Honeymoons magazine did a story about our wedding last year. :goodvibes

soo...help the craft-challenged.

You had great resolution on your photos so you could enlarge the photos without a problem...a lot of my pictures aren't high res..but since I don't have an album..I think this would be something I could make to clutter up my coffee table...will blurb tell you if the pictures aren't optimal for that size?

What PrincessShea said! :goodvibes Now if you design the book in your own layout software, it may or may not have an alert. Usually there's a way to tell it to display the photo at full resolution, though, and then it will snap to the largest size possible so you'll know not to make it bigger.

Stunning!

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this! Your book is just gorgeous! I am a newspaper page designer so the layout flexibility you describe is very appealing to me.

Once you made the PDF's in InDesign did you have any trouble tranferring them onto the pages on blurb? I was just wondering if it was easy to bleed your layouts to the edge of the pages and things like that. I know sometimes things like that can be a headache and not turn out the exact way you want.

With the new PDF To Book feature, you don't even have to transfer the pages into the Blurb template. I remember when you used to have to do that, and it was a drag. Now you make the whole book in whatever software you want, export it as a cover PDF and "guts" PDF, and then just upload the two PDFs to their site. They do the rest! :)

Carrie - WOW! WOW! WOW and THANKS THANKS THANKS! :thumbsup2

I was asking a lot of questions about printing, albums and the like - so I really appreciate you starting this thread and sharing this great info about blurb.com!

Thanks to everyone else who's added info on this thread and the other photos one I started too!

What would I do without all of you!! :lovestruc

Thanks!
Leah

I'm so glad you found it helpful! It can be totally overwhelming, and it's only one aspect of ALL the overwhelming things about planning a wedding! :faint:

Oh good - I hope it helped! Blurb isn't a perfect solution for everyone, but I just like it because of the combo of style and price point. Plus, last time I checked, they were the only ones doing a large landscape-oriented book (13x11!). Most places seem to only do 12x12 square.

Okay, is there no end to your talents? You seem to be knowledgable about everything!!! What a stunning book!!

:rotfl: No, you should see me trying to figure out my taxes... And the broiler... And gym equipment... And "American Idol"... the list goes on... :teeth:

That's an awesome book :) I've just bookmarked this page as we've booked a CD-only package with our photographer, and we were just going to print them out after we got home, but we'll definitely have a go at this now!

Is yours the 13x11 and just standard paper?

I love how you've put the invitation and the program, the ceremony wording and speeches, etc :)

Wow that is absolutely beautiful. Your pictures are so amazing, what a great way to share them. I will have to check out Blurb. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity. :goodvibes

Beautiful! You're very creative!:worship:

:goodvibes Well thank you!

Yes - we did 13x11 and had to use standard paper because we were beyond the page limit for the fancy paper. However, it's very nice. While it is possible to see the outline of whatever photo's on the other side, I either inserted a blank page or made sure to place a full-bleed photo on the other side of one that sat in the middle of a page with white space around it so there would be no edges showing in the white space (if that makes sense).

WOW! Beautiful pictures!

Thank you so much for sharing these x

Thank you for your kind comment!

I'm so glad you like them! Thanks!

Such a beautiful book! I'm going to covet this! I want another one - I want all the extra features (like Sean's excellent speech, and your programs) PLUS - my hubby looks super adorable in your pics. Man, I don't even have 2 copies of my OWN wedding album!

So, thanks for making me want to 'upgrade to blu-ray' dang it!!

Also, I'm thrilled to hear you can now upload your own PDF files to Blurb. DH was making a sketch book for comic-con last year and I was not able to get up to 'Blurb' speed. We ended up using Photoshop and uploading the PDF files to Lulu. I think I like the printing quality of Blurb better (by a hair), and may want to try using them for his next book!

Your cover is one of my favorite photos of you guys!

Carrie, you have AMAZING talent!!! :worship: You are an awesome inspiration for so many brides! :grouphug: Keep the talent rolling!! :cool1: It'll be a while until I have time to make my wedding book, but I'd love to learn how to do the PDF file thingy...perhaps you could help? What program do I need to do this? Thanks so much again!!! :goodvibes

:rotfl: Well, if you're serious, you can buy a copy in Blurb's bookstore here: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/996943

But I gotta warn you, it costs a bundle cuz it's 240 pages!

Thank you so much! You can use any desktop publishing you want, as long as it allows you to export the file as a PDF. I used Adobe InDesign, which is a professional software, but there are plenty of consumer-friendly desktop publishing applications - you may even have one pre-installed on your computer.

Barring that, you can use Blurb's own book publishing software, BookSmart, which has tons of different photo layouts, including some that incorporate text. That's what I used for the smaller reception albums we made, and they turned out nicely. :thumbsup2

Your book is gorgeous. I love the idea of incorporating the Programs into the book.

I may have to check out Blurb, I was intending on making our album on mpix, but for the album I wanted, the assembled album, only goes up to 40 pages and would be about $200-300 based on pages. It just seems silly when you ended up with 248 and the book is a little over $100.

Thank you for sharing, it is extremely helpful.
