Our FP+ testing experience 7/19

Oh, and I could see some "double dipping" (people obtaining FP+ for Splash Mountain and then also using their cards to get regular FP), but to be honest, at a capacity of over 1,500 an hour, I think the impact of double dippers will be minimal, even on Splash.

Don't forget that a lot of people who are part of the FP+ test might assume that they can't even get regular FP and won't bother with it.

According to the Disney Sales Rep who talked me into being a tester in August, you CANNOT get a Fast Pass+ and a regular Fast Pass in the same park on the same day. In other words, if you have a FP+ reservation for Splash Mountain, which is in the Magic Kingdom, you must leave MK and hop to a different park on that same day if you also want to use the old FP system.

It's not that Disney is giving out false info intentionally, but no one seems to know what the real story is on ANY of this. Just look back at the posts and all the conflicting data you see. CM told me ABC, but another CM told her XYZ, and yet another CM said it was actually QRS. I would not rely on ANYTHING that ANY CM says at this point--not that they're being dishonest, but the don't have a clue!

This is EXACTLY right!!!

My family and I are testers for the first week in August, and we were told that you CAN double dip (FP+ and regular FP), but you must not double dip in the same park for which you have FP+ reservations. Also, we were told, by the Disney Sales Rep that talked me into testing the My Magic+ Package (Magic bands, FP+, etc), that there are only 1,100 people testing when we're in Disney. So, either Disney is giving out false info, or the number you've heard is correct.

The reason I think the number 1100 is incorrect is because this testing group involves AKL, POP, YC and the Contemporary. I doubt the number 1100 was stated to be intentionally misleading. There is so much to know and remember. The CM could have been misinformed or just confused about which testing numbers matched with which testing event.

To me double dipping at a separate park would be a non-issue because it makes the numbers more "normal". However, that could be a disappointment for some testers who either do not have hoppers or do not wish to hop.

You're right about CM's giving conflicting information, and that has happened to me when I've called the reservations number to ask about something. But, when I talked directly to the Disney Sales Rep who had offered to allow me to become a tester, he explained that he had tested the program himself, and used both FP+ and the old FP systems on the same day, but in two different parks. He said that you must park hop if you wish to use both systems. And that's exactly what I was told by the agent I spoke to at the special number I was given to call if I had any further concerns. We'll see what happens in August.

Thanks for the update, which has me beginning to worry even more about our upcoming November trip.

But that was on a previous test--not necessarily the same this time around. I think you're right, it's going to be a wait and see game.

But, delmar, who is the OP for this thread, was able to double dip at the same park just yesterday. Each test is, theoretically, different, and CM tests and guest tests are different as well.

'The information you were given might be correct, but, on the other hand, I have been told by two CM's in the MM+ testing department that we can use "legacy FP" without any restrictions -- we pull them whenever and wherever we want. Just saying that, at this point, the fact that a CM or two told us something doesn't mean that what they told us is correct. I've talked to at least 6 different CM's in the past couple of days, and, literally, every single one has said something to contradict another. AS PP noted, the CM's just don't know.

our test of no valid linked tickets but valid fp+ selections is working perfectly.

So you are allowed to take them off and put them back on over the course of your trip? My concern was getting stuck sleeping with it on or swimming when it would be annoying!

Of course. You don't have to wear them at all, if you don't want to. Just attach them to your belt or your purse strap.

Our trip is in Nov. We have linked our tickets, but no FP+ selection option shows up yet. Do you have to be within the 60 day window of resort reservation?

Also the check in desk manager said each person can have up to 8 bands associated with them.

we are getting 2 sets shipped because we are checking out of disney, going to Uni and then coming back to Disney. I was told because they are 2 separate reservations, 2 separate set of bands, i'm surprised they weren't able to link them.

This is exactly what I was told.

Some days I made FP+ for early in the day so that I can utilize regular FP later, and I plan on utilizing rope drop on the days I made late evening FP+. However, I am hoping that I will be able to utilize regular FP at any time because it would be nice to have access to FP during the day if my FP+ aren't until after dinner and vice versa.

I did the same thing, on two days (one is departure day) I made early FP ressies and other days scattered throughout the day so we don't have to do RP every day (thank goodness) I have a basic itinerary I'm following and one of the pluses is we won't be backtracking. I've worked my itinerary around the FPs which really isn't hard to do.:)

OK, I'm a person that got the invite, my son is a CM and we are booked on his discount, with a counter service meal plan. It has been just impossible to sign into the site; he can't, I can't, we finally just gave up. So my question is, if we do not sign up when we get there will they still be able to give us the bands or we'll just go on our merry way with the standard key to the world.

Delmar, how did you get to pick FP+ times if you had no linked ticket, we are going the 2nd of Aug as guest of my daughter she's a CP so have no real tickets yet, I've ordered the magicbands as we are stay yacht club, but it won't let me pick FP+ is there a way for my daughter to do this for us, or will we just have to wait till we get there? thanks

I'm in the same boat. how did you even order the magicbands, we can't even get on the site to do that.

I have no valid linked ticket, I have a linked used up ticket. I didn't expect to be able to select FP+ for another day nor did I expect it to work. It did not work for park admission (as I assumed, we entered with our APs) but it did work at the FP+ touch points.

I don't have ordered magic bands I have the gray ones they gave us Thursday when we checked in for CM testing.

So they just gave them too you when you checked in. Thanks. We're just going to hold off and see what happens when we get there.

Mary Anne, I just took the reservation # my daughter gave me and just kept at it on trying to link it to my acct, it took awhile, as we actually have 3 different reservations, sometimes they all show up some times only the one shows up and my ADR's show up, some times it said sorry this reservation i already linked to My daughter. Finally the other day when we switched to yacht instead of Beach cub, I could get in and pick the magic bands, good luck just keep trying
