An ice storm knocked out power to more than a half-million homes and businesses in New England and upstate New York, and authorities say it could take days for all of them to get service back.
The governors of Massachusetts and New Hampshire declared states of emergency Friday morning, and schools were closed and travel disrupted across the region.

Around Albany, N.Y., National Grid reported more than 140,000 customers without power. Outages from other utilities brought the total in the state to more than 225,000.

Morning all. Thanks for all the replies, you made me feel so much better. SW flights are on time, so we should be OK. I can't wait to get out of here! Poor sick, one handed Paul spent the morning clearing tree limbs and debris from around our house, while I slept. Here's what it looks like outside...
