That’s right. The last time I was at a Disney park was back in August 1998. I had just turned 11 and my sister 5. It’s hard to remember details but we watch our home videos from time to time and it’s clear we had a blast! :happytv:

Well, after 12 long years of suggesting, I’ve finally managed to convince my family to go back. You can imagine how pumped I am after such a long wait! I went on a Disney cruise with a friend of mine in January 2009, but that was pretty much the only Disney vacation I got since I was 11 years old.

We decided it was a 100% go at the beginning of June this year. So we proceeded in looking at resorts and planning (at least, my family did. For me, this was many years in the making. :thumbsup2 ) It was mid-June when we found out my mom would no longer be able to join us due to a temporary health issue. She would probably be fine by August, but might not be able to walk around theme parks all day long, so we didn’t want to risk it. Needless to say, I was bummed. :guilty: But my mom, being the sweetie she is, wanted the rest of us to go and not mind her. She assured us it was okay, and she said we all deserved a good vacation this year. So after much convincing from her, we decided to go for it. From then on the trip turned into a Father-Daughter trip.

So here’s the quick summary of the travel party :

Myself: 23 – Just finishing university and the one who dreamed of being a Disney CM as a kid. THE Disney Nutt/crazy/expert/everything of the family!
Sister (my “’lil sis” Jackie): 17 – High school senior. She likes Disney, but not at Nutt level like me haha.
Dad: Again, likes Disney – just not at Nutt level! ;)

Now a summary of travel plans:

Resort: Pop Century
Dates: Aug 24-31st 2010.
Package: Magic You Way + Free QS Dining
Tues Aug 24: Arriving in the World, checking in to resort, evening/dinner at Downtown Disney.
Wed Aug 25: Epcot – reservations at Tokyo Dining – our only TS meal
Thurs Aug 26: Magic Kingdom
Fri Aug 27: Animal Kingdom
Saturday Aug 28: Free day + revisit either Epcot or MK
Sunday Aug 29: Hollywood Studios (we’re waiting until Sunday because Toy Story Mania will be re-opening from refurbishment)
Monday Aug 30: Free day + revisit either Epcot or MK
Tues Aug 31: Leave the World :( Back to Canada!

So why am I starting this report now? Because I know that if I don’t, I will not upon my return. (The reason I do not have a report for my Disney cruise! :o lol) I feel like I need to share at least part of my experiences with all of you after all the help, suggestions, tips, etc you have provided on these boards! I’d seriously be lost without it. So this way, I have no excuse! I’m sure I can count on at least one person around here to yell at me if I don’t update. ;)

So it begins… we leave TOMORROW! Are we beyond excited? YES! :woohoo:
Are we happy with the current weather forecast for the next 8 days? No... not really (in case you haven’t heard, it’s rain. Every.. Single.. Day.) But hey, we bought a few ponchos, packed lots of extra socks, and I dug up my Crocs from my closet. I think we’re good to go! :yay:

Wish us well! And I’ll “see” you all again when we’re back! :D

PS. I myself am okay with it, but I’m not sure if Dad and Sis are okay with posting photos of them online yet. I will still post other photos here either way!
