Our First Trip To Uni - Pre Trip Report :)

DH has been to Universal Studios before a lonnnnng time ago, but not Islands of Adventure. This will be me & dc's first trip!

Cast:

Me - 27
DH - 29
DD - 4
DS - 6

DS - 1 wont be going with us.


2 days!!!

Ok, so I think we do our countdowns a little different than most people do. We have 2 days - We dont count the day we are on or the day we leave.

Aaaanyway.. this week is going slow already & it's just Monday. Here's our schedule for the week...

Monday - Homeschool kids (yes we are one of THOSE families ), think about packing, go to Harris Teeter to get our snacks & stuff for on the way down.

Tuesday - Homeschool, Start packing, Attend memorial service at hospital for families who have miscarried (we lost our baby back in March)

Wednesday - Homeschool, More packing, Drop youngest DS off at Nana's house where he will be spoiled for the week.

Thursday - Leave!!! It's an 8ish hour drive from NC to Orlando. We are planning on leaving here at 3 or 4 am so we can have some time to go to the parks when we get there. Or maybe have a nap

Friday - Islands of Adventure!

Saturday - Universal Studios

Sunday - Some more parks & then leave for Daytona Beach

Monday - Day at Beach

Tuesday - Leave for home


I am totally a Disney girl so this trip is kind of bittersweet for me. I tried to talk DH into going to Disney World, but this is more affordable & he assures me I will LOVE it. It's hard for me to be that close to the World & not go, but I'm sure looking forward to some front of the line priviledges! Plus, we went to WDW last May so.. I guess he has a point.


Ok, so this is our countdown poster. We started it at 50 days to go, and we are already down to 2! It FLEW by. Please forgive my pathetic attempts at drawing: Simpsons Donuts, Spiderman heads, Shrek heads, and Cat In The Hat hats.

As you can see, I haven't started packing yet.

At the bottom corner of the last pic, you can see my "Clothes Packing List". I have everyone's wardrobe packed out down to socks & shoes. After having 3 kids, I'm very scatterbrained so I need lists! DH makes fun of me for this, but he will be glad when we sees that I DIDNT forget his underwear (which I did do one time).

I know how you feel Crystal I really wanted to go to WDW this yr too but just couldnt afford it so we are trying Universal. I am really excited tho, still DF and I talked about going to DTD for dinner our first night and I decided against it b/c it would kill me to be so close and not be able to go!!! Have a great trip! Looking forward to your trip report when you get back!
