Cast: Me - 33 and DH - 30, from Vancouver, BC. We have both been to Disneyland several times, and I have been to Toyko Disneyland, and EuroDisney. But this was the first trip to WDW for both of us. The week before we had been on a Caribbean Cruise with Celebrity Cruises.

We are at the Caribbean Beach Resort, which isn't quite like the Caribbean we were in last week, but it will do. We are in room 5416, in the Aruba area of the resort, although our room has a painting of Charlottle Amalie Harbour, St Thomas on the wall - we recognised it as soon as we walked in. So we should have been in the US Virgin Islands!

We unpacked, rested up a bit and then deliberated over what to do. We had just spent 4 hours in the car driving up from Fort Lauderdale, but had ahd a week of relaxtion so now it was time to work for our holiday! We decided that as Epcot was open the lastest we would head over there for dinner.

Everything I had read about on the DIS boards, in the Passporter and the Unofficial Guide warned about the long waits, so we went all prepared.

We rode Spaceship Earth with no wait. Then wandered through Innoventions West, including the ultimate home theatre - I want one! Can we fit that in the budget?

When Future World closed, we crossed into the World Showcase. We split the combination platter (chicken taco, beef burrito, quesadilla, refried beans and salsa) and a large coke from the Cantina de San Angel outside the Mexican Pavillion.

Inside the pavillion we rode the boat ride, "Rio de Tiempo", again with no wait and looked throught the marketplace. I lived in Mexico for 12 months and it made me homesick! Uh oh this is going to be an expensive trip. Our first day in the world, and I need a new home theatre and a trip to Mexico.

Next up was Norway. We walked through the viking ship and the Stave Church, rode the Maelstrom - we got a little damp - and watched the Spirit of Norway movie.

We are continuing the trend towards 24 hour eating that we started on the cruise ship. So we got some lefske from the Kringla Bakeri to eat while we watched Illuminations, and an apple danish and a cinnamon bun for breakfast tomorrow morning. Oooohh I could have bought the whole lot - the mousse, cheesecake etc.

Illuminations was good, I love fireworks, and light shows, so it was right up my alley, but it was not the most spectacular that I have seen.

By now we are exhausted so we came back to the hotel and went to bed.

Before we went to the bed I ordered a wakeup call - the phone is on DH's side of the bed, and I wanted to surprise him.

Great report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Didn't see this before, so I am catching up. Don't you love the Norway bakery? I have never had something bad from there!

we had trouble limiting ourselves to one thing each. We have to have something different and share. That way we get two desserts each.

any of the pastries.....oh well.......26 days and I just may do this......thanks so much for your report
