Our First Trip HOME ~ AKV ~ (as new DVC members) Two updates 8/31

Animal Kingdom Lodge! Sooo jealous that is your home resort! We stayed there last May (before Kidani was open) and loved it.

Yay for DVC! We own at Saratoga Springs.

We took a nice afternoon break from the hot sun. Lots of animals to watch from our balcony.

It was then time to go back to Epcot. We wanted to finish a lovely day in the most magical day. We were going to spend our evening around the World Showcase.

Our first stop was Mexico to grab a quick bite to eat at Cantina de San Angel. Love this place, one meal is easily split between us.

On to Norway

Then onto China. In all our years of Disney, we’d never gone through China (we hit the gift shop the year of the Beijing Olympics, but that was it.

Walked to Germany where hubby got his dark beer. He loves German beer. We had to check out the Steiff’s. I have to convince him to NOT buy me another one. As much as I love them, I really do not have anywhere to put them.

Onto Italy

We passed by the American Adventure on our way to Japan.

We walked through Morocco on our way to France.

On our way through the United Kingdom we saw this cute guy…

We then sat and listened to Off Kilter in Canada

It was finally time to head back. We’d started at rope drop and were beat, so no Illuminations for us tonight.

We arrived back at our villa a little before 9pm. When we opened the door, this is what I saw.

Our table was covered with goodies.

A photo of my ‘pals’

A cake made out of chocolate!!!!

An autograph book

On our bed was….Mickey with an “It’s my Birthday” glowing necklace!!!

My favorite POOH!!!

And birthday ears.

This is the big box I had to carry it all home in, lol…

What a great way to end my BIRTHDAY!!!!

Well, where did all those goodies come from????

My wonderful hubby! He went on the DIS and started a thread (new for him, lol) and asked how to go about getting something delivered to our room. I think he did a great job and I was so surprised!!!

Up next, a relaxing day meeting up with friends!

How did you get that big box home?
Did he say if it was difficult to have all of that planned? It was my parents 40th anniversary this summer and they are going with us to WDW. I would love to have something in their room to surprise them for their anniversary.

Kelly, I know what a guy I've got!!!

I actually carried it on (since we only had 'one' carry one between us). It was big, but LOOKED so fun carrying around!

I think he contacted Disney Florist and arranged it all through them. (if that is not right, he'll be by to let you know). He just had to have a 'time frame' that we had to be out of the room. So when I was beat and ready to head back, we sat and watch Off Kilter for a bit (his delaying, lol) but they were really good, so glad we took the break.

I just had to give them a window of oppurtunity to come to the room and set up the display with us not around. Or, i could have just picked everything up at the front desk . They did a fine job on their display.

What a wonderful surprise!!! We leave on the 21st and even though it was a few days ago, we are celebrating my Grandsons and his papas birthday. This would be a wonderful surprise for them!!
