Well for the most part is was a pleasant experience. We traded out to The Claremont in the San Francisco Bay area.My Brother in law was married there this w/end.Great wedding. The hotel was beautiful.Everyone in the area knew the Claremont. When we were asked where we were staying and told them, the reactions were like'Oh,The Claremont".LOL..Loved playing the role;) Anyway, the only bummer about the whole stay was the bill at the end.16.00 per day for parking and 10.00 a day for Resort incurrence fee.We were there for4 days,so you do the math. They neglected to tell us this at check-in and so it came as a bit of a suprise. The food was pretty good for California cusine, but nothing really stood out.We had a great view of The Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz from our room. That is when the fog wasn't making an appearance, which is almost always. All in all we were very happy with our trade and it made things much easier for us with the hectic pace of attending a wedding 3,000 miles away.
I have uploade some pics of the resort and hope to get more up soon.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the report, RoutemanDan. I so appreciate it when members share their experiences from CC Resorts and II exchanges - it really helps us all with future planning.

And great pics, too!

Glad you had a good time.

I sent my SIL and her new husband to the White Swan for two nights in 2000 for their wedding present, and they had a good experience, also!

I was an undergrad at Berkeley, DAN:) , and have many fond memories of the CLAREMONT. They don't build them that way anymore. Glad that you had such a great time:cool:   ......

Thanks for the info and pictures!

SPECTACULAR!

When I booked the Plaza, MS told me the parking rate. We took the train.;) There were no other fees.

You're right Eros, they don't make them like that anymore.

Wow, great pictures. Now how many points per night and what would it have cost had you paid cash. I'd say a mighty penny.;)

Resort incurrence fee, what the heck is that? The parking fee I understand, but you should have been told about that up front, about the other fee, you might call MS and discuss that one with them. We've had 2 occasions using points where the resort tried to charge us additional charges, both times, MS has straightened it out and no charges were incurred.

Anna,
It was 111 points from Thursday to Sunday for each room.We treated my wifes Father and his wife to a room.:D The cash price per night was between 360.00 and 400.00 per night depending on the season.

WOW again. I figured it was "pretty much up there". That was very nice of you to treat your wife's father and wife to a room ;) Definitely worth DVC all the more.
