We had an absolute blast! It was the very first time we were ever there just the two of us and it was such a new experience to be there with out the rest of our family and our niece and nephew. I never knew Disney was such a romantic place.
We spent the first day at the "Animal Kingdom" b/c we were both tired from the trip and since we were staying at the "Animal Kingdom Lodge" it was only a 2 minute bus ride to get there and we took a break mid-day to go swimming at the hotel.
We spent the second day at the "Magic Kingdom" and went on a bunch of rides. Mid day we snuck over to the "Contemporary" to use their pool, shhhhhh. LOL Then we went back to see "Wishes" the fireworks show over the castle and once again, it made me cry. LOL I'm such a dork! They were open late for EMH so we rode "Buzz Lightyear" a bunch of times b/c DH just can't ride that thing enough. LOL By the time we got back to the hotel we were beat so we slept in the next day.
We spent the early afternoon lounging by the pool and then hit "EPCOT" This is our favorite of all the parks b/c of "World Showcase" and all the beer!!! LOL They were open late that night so we went on "Soarin'" the new ride there and wow, that was way cool!! It was like you were flying!
The next day we lounged by the pool with some frozen drinks and then went over to MGM for the opening day of "Star Wars Weekends" That was sooooo cool. There were Storm troopers and Jawa's walking around through the crowd and hiding behind trees. There were a bunch of photo spots set up so you could get your pic taken with people like Darth Vader, Aniken, Queen Amadala, Jedi Mickey, I mean you name the character and they were there. DH was upset b/c we didn't have enough time to take our pics with all the guys so I woke up early for him the next day at 6:30 so we could eat breakfast and be there when the park opened. Man that was rough on me, let me tell you. LOL We got there before the park opened and were a couple of the fanatics you see standing there waiting for them to open the park. When it did open we ran over to where Darth Vader so we could have our pic taken with out waiting for 2 hours in line. And we were the very first people that day! That made DH very happy. LOL We finished getting our pics with Chewbacca and all the characters then watched to special parade with everyone in it, including the kid you played young bobafet and one of the special effect guys who worked on the movies. That was neat. Then he took pity on me and we went back to the hotel to veg by the pool. Well I vegged by the pool and he took a nap. LMAO We went back to EPCOT that night and watch "Illuminations" and had some drinks.
Since we had now done all the parks, we just kind of floated around the rest of the time we were there going from park to park. And everyday we had some veg time by the pool. We even did both the water parks. One day we did "Blizzard Beach" and just floated around on the lazy river and then had ice cream. And then the next day we did "Typhoon Lagoon" hit the lazy river, wave pool and the new ride crushen Gusher. That was way cool.
On our last night there which was Tuesday, we went back to hotel after seeing "Illuminations" yet again, we love that show, DH told me he had to go to the bathroom so I should go down to the pool and he would meet me there in a little while. Well I was down swimming for about 20 minutes when I started to worry about what was taking him so long then he appeared poolside and scared the crap out of me. LOL I got out and we were sitting having a drink and just soaking up the sites and sounds of the beautiful pool area when he looked at me and said "I don't want to go home", something I had been saying to him allllll day. LOL I looked at him and said "I don't want to go home either". He then looked at me and said "Good, b/c I changed our flight home, we're not leaving till Thursday night at 8:15" My jaw it the floor and it took him 10 minutes to convince me he was pulling my leg. Then I started to cry. LOL When we got back up the room he showed me the new flight information and confirmation number b/c there was still apart of me that didn't believe him. LOL The only problem was we didn't have a hotel room. LOL
The next morning we called the reservation number and got a room at the "Beach Club" hotel over by the Boardwalk and in between EPCOT and MGM. You could walk to both parks, that was waaaaaay cool. We spent the next two days lounging at the pool with is covered with sand on the bottom and even has it's own lazy river and water slide. We got to see "Illuminations" again, and spent our last night at the Magic Kingdom which was open till 2 am for EMH and I got to see "Wishes" again and cry again, LOL We also saw "Spectro-Magic" the Light parade they have there, that was awesome!
We spent our last day at the pool in the morning after check out and then yup you guessed it back to EPCOT for one last walk around "World Showcase" and one last 1/2 yard and a Kir Royale from France.
I gotta say, this is the first time I have come home from WDW rested and tan. LOL I usually need another vacation when I get back. I think we finally figured out how to see everything and still chill by the pool. Of course I want to go back already, but I'm not too worried about when the next time will be b/c my sister is in the process of moving to FL so I know I will be down there to visit at least once a year!
