This trip had me, my DH, DS 12 and DS 10
We stayed at PO-Riverside and had a marvelous time there.

Sunday was our MK day and also our breakfast at 1900 Park Fare! The GF resort is just beautiful and we had less of a difficult time driving there after our experiences at Poly. We were learning our way around pretty good. Our PS was for 7:30 so we were up and out early (our food review is on the restaurant thread). The breakfast was great with lots of character interaction - except my older DS wouldn't talk to Alice. He was embarrassed! And she was really pretty and nice too. But the breakfast was great. I felt really crummy (figures, as I had been really looking forward to this) so couldn't enjoy looking at the resort as much as I would have liked. Discovered my younger DS got a real kick out of the autograph book thing - remember that if you have a shy child - seems to bring them out a little. As we were leaving we saw Captain Hook in the lobby! He was huffily giving out autographs (really in character) but there was a long line. Before we left, I saw him and Mr. Smee jauntily dash up the stairs. The lobby had completely cleared out. If only I had felt better I would have tried for his autograph. Younger DS got a real kick out of the GF elevator as it is glass.

We went on to MK from our breakfast. We asked at the desk if we could leave our car and just use the monorail and they said yes! That saved so much time. We were parked in the self-parking lot. When we got to MK it was so crowded getting in but the lines at security went fast. Pretty soon we were on Main Street and our group split up. This was my older DS's first attempt at MK by himself. We had those little radios. Now this was good and bad. We were a little worried about him (of course) and so we spent a lot of time checking on him and making rendezvous times instead of enjoying ourselves. He had a great time though! He just loved the freedom and I felt pretty good about this park. I had been cut lose here for the first time in my youth too. So it was worth it on that level at least.

DH, younger DS and I went to Tomorrow land for the TTA. Hadn't ridden that in years. Did DS's favorite thing on the way there- rode the horse drawn carriage down Main Street. Boy has that street ever changed! All the trees are so grown up. At Tomorrow Land got to go on Buzz too for the first time. Great ride but hard to aim that cannon. Would love another shot. Walked over to Tom Sawyer after that and rafted over. It was getting so hot by that time! I did finally get to feeling better but the heat was draining. We met up with other DS and then went to lunch at CCH. After that don't know what happened to the rest of the day!

We went back to Tom Sawyer and lost younger DS, found him and were just exhausted by then. I asked older DS if he would go on BTMMT with me but he declined. I was determined to ride this ride again. I hadn't been on it since I was 21! So I asked DH if he would stay with younger DS (who is just not the type of child to stay by himself at all) while I ride the thing and he said "Sure, no problem!" Thank you, honey! I took a radio and went off on my own adventure. This was the best thing I did all day! Got in the standby line and though it said 60 minutes it was only about 20 before we were all in the train. I got a seat in the back all to myself and felt like a nut rattling in a can! I had forgotten how big this train was. The ride was longer than I remembered too but, oh! what a thrill! This is probably the only roller coaster that I get excited about and enjoy. I'm so glad I did it.

DH had radioed while I was in line that he and DS were leaving TS Island to ride the train around the park so I was to look for them in Frontier land. Older DS was off and about again. Found them at SM near the little play area. Then it was magically 3:00! We had decided to leave around that time to get in some swim time at the pool. Met up with older DS at train station - we had gotten a locker there. We had every intention of returning to play and see fireworks - did not work out that way.

My younger DS had spotted the surrey bikes the day before and wanted to ride them. We said "Tomorrow" and well, it was tomorrow. He very quickly reminded us of that fact and that we had promised. So we went back to the GF resort, drippin with sweat mind you, and then drove to our resort and cleaned up. Felt a little better so we trooped over and rented a 4 seater surrey bike. This turned out to be so much fun! It steers really easily and only a licensed driver can operate it so I got stuck in the back of course. Hey, you didn't think DH was going to give up control did you? And older DS wanted to back seat drive from the front and younger DS (who was miffed he couldn't steer) had to sit himself in the basket in front (it's rather large to accomodate small children and he's small for his age) to ring the bell. What a site we must have made! We got to go around the little lake twice and DS rang everyone off our path - it was hysterical. Also there are two rather daunting hills that you'd better be pedalling fast to make or you won't! It was great fun but I felt it for the rest of our vacation in my calves.

Then we went swimming for an hour or so. After that - we kept telling ourselves we would go back out later - but after sandwiches in the room - I FELL ASLEEP! DH was already asleep. Kids were rapped up in Disney toons and must have been tired because no one said anything about going out. So much for going back to MK. I am ashamed to say I didn't have much stamina on this vacation. But I also had promised myself not to do Commando Disney this time. As a consolation - my older DS had a great day and my younger one actually had fun. So it was not a loss that we didn't stand the "world" on it's ear.

The next day was to be Typhoon Lagoon!

Sounds like your day was a success! I think we all suffer from lack of stamina once in a while. I think it comes from being parents. :D

I'm really enjoying reading your trip report. Can't wait for the next intallment.:)
