The night before, I had made a wake-up call for 7:30am. After hearing Mickey Mouse telling us to get up, we had breakfast in the room. We had brought breakfast and lunch food to save money for souviners. Now we are ready to hit our first park........Animal Kingdom!!!
We got to the park early, and waited for the gates to open. When we finally got in, we went straight for the Safari, with a stop to get a picture of the Tree of Life. Man, what a huge tree!!
There was no wait for the Safari (we never had a long wait for any ride the whole week), and off we went. We saw so many animals on the ride. There was a giraffe right next to our car!! We walked around the conservatory and saw the giant bats!! They were hanging upside down asleep. Then we went and saw the Tigers. They were asleep too. Guess the heat was getting to them like it was to me.
After watching the animals for a while, I suggested going on Kali River Rapids because I was getting too hot. I had to go by myself (dd1 thought it would be too scary for her), and was soaked all day. Glad I brought my flip-flops so my shoes and socks wouldnt be wet all day!! Daddy went next, and didnt get half as soaked as I did. Dont know how he managed that, but DD1 did shoot him with the water gun when he went by.
The girls got autographs and pictures from Baloo, Tigger, Pooh, Piglet, Pluto, Tarzan, and Jane Porter. Boy, was I surprised to see Tarzan and Jane!!
Next came Dino-Land!! Daddy and the girls rode Triceratop Spin. They all had a great time while I took pictures. Then we walked around, and some ice cream for a small break. Daddy rode Primeval Whirl, he said it was just alright.
Next the girls and I went to the boneyard, while daddy went to ride dinosaur. The girls had a great time digging in the sand, and sliding. I was watching some kids stepping on some stones, and hearing a dinosaur roar, so I got DD2 to step on one, and it scared her. After the first one, she was jumping on all the others...LOL
We went to see "It's tough to be a bug" DD1 didnt like it too much. Guess it was the special effects that got her, but that's ok. Hubby and I laughed through the whole show. My favorite part was the ending........
We left the park around 3:00, rested a little bit, then went swimming. We all loved the slide. DD2 went down with daddy a few times, and mommy once. DD1 went down by herself a couple of times, but like it better with one of us.
What a great first day in the parks we had!!
Next is Disney/MGM........
