Today was EE for MGM. We got up early again and were at the park at opening. Nicolas has ridden TOT before and never wants to ride again (we're hoping that changes when he gets older) so we go to the left instead of to the right like everyone else first thing in the morning. We headed straight for Star Tours and rode with no wait. There was a little girl in line crying that she didn't want to go and her dad was making her. (grrrr) But Nicolas stood next to her and *mom bursting with pride here* gently talked to her and told her all about the ride and that it was really fun and it was going to be ok. He actually calmed her down and she was smiling when we boarded. :)

After Star Tours, we got the "Mommy, can I have something from the gift shop since I rode?" line again but somehow we managed to escape the dreaded gift shop with no presents this time. We actually bought nothing today. WOW!! :earseek:

After Star Tours, we headed to the muppets 3D. Being a member of the Funky Eye Club (see Part 2) I cannot see any of the effects in this show, but Nicolas likes it, so we always do it.

We saw Miss Piggy and Kermit just begging for us to come over before the show. Nobody was going toward them. People were actually waving and just passing them by. So we stopped and got their autograph. Now here is something new I haven't seen. . . They have a cool stamper for their autograph. I saw Buzz with one at the MK on Christmas Day, but these are the only 3 characters I saw with one. I guess it is easier for some to do that rather than hold a pen.

After this, we headed back to ride the Great Movie Ride. The cueing area was the longest I have ever seen it. I could tell the crowds were definetly picking up for Christmas. Oh my goodness. It was nuts. Well, after getting inside and just beside Mary Poppins' horse - the ride broke down and we weren't allowed inside! ugh!!! I hate it when that happens. So, we grabbed a FP for Little Mermaid and then saw that Playhouse Disney was just lining up for the first show of the day. The CM's told me to go to a table where I could get a FP for the show. I told them that I already was holding FP and they said it didn't matter that they were just handing them out. I went up and asked for 3 and they gave them to me! cool.

So we were waiting in line for the doors to open when Nicolas had his first meltdown of the trip. He was whining and talking back and we had only been there for an hour. So Roy took him to the bathroom for a little attitude adjustment and things went much smoother after that. We have seen Playhouse Disney several times, but this trip was magical because Nicolas actually wanted to get up and dance and go up front with Jamie, the host. It was wonderful! Got lots of great shots on the camera.

Movie Ride was open after this, so we went. We ended up going later too during the parade when the cue was actually not outside at this time. We got the gangster version the first time and the cowboy version the second. It seems we rarely get the cowboy version, so that was treat.

We had PS for Sci Fi today for lunch. I was glad too. People were lined up all over the place and they kept announcing that they were booked for the entire day, but people just kept trying to get in. Even with our PS, we still had to wait around 20 minutes. We really liked it here. Nicolas got the glow in the dark ice cube and they served his hotdog (not the Italian version this time - see part 1 ;-) on a glow in the dark frisbee. That was cool and fun. Roy and I sat in the back seat and Nicolas "drove" in the front. We really enjoyed it here and will probably go back. And by the way, I was wondering and some of you might be too - you can actually turn off the ice cube and use it at home. So I wasn't too upset over shelling out the money for it.

After lunch we did child swap for TOT. Man, I love this ride. I giggle uncontrollably the whole time I am riding it. I sat next to two younger guys (early 20's???) Who were cursing the whole time. :( I hated it because there were young children in there.

We wanted to do RNR Coaster with child swap, but the standby was 120 minutes and FP return was really late, so we skipped it. We did manage to fit in Beauty and the Beast and indiana Jones this trip. We haven't seen these shows in a few years and it was fun to see them again. I have since seen B&the B broadway version though, so it wasn't quite as good as I remembered of course compared to the stage version. But Four for a Dollar performed before the show which made the whole wait time WORTH IT! They are SO GOOD! We bought both of their CD's promptly upon leaving the show. They have a new Christmas CD which is really great.

We also saw the Haunted Mansion movie set. It was really cool. (Remember HM is DS's favorite ride and he loved the movie). WE only hated that they rushed us out so quickly. And I was SOOOO tempted to take some pictures. oh well.

We left around 9pm and went back and ordered a pizza with room service. Gotta do that at least once per trip. ;) I took Nicolas to play on the playground at ASMU and he had fun.

Tomorrow Santa comes!

of the bar holding you in TOT......I have always been terrified and yet done TOT but this seatbelt gives me the willies.......thanks so much for your report

I love the seatbelts. Either way, I'm a big girl and I come completely off the seat! That is a great feeling! :)
