We are staying in the BWV this August! I hope this trip will not spoil us forever from staying in a regular room.

I remember reading that there is no mousekeeping in the DVC...Is this true?
Also, any advice for first timers?

Thanks! :sunny:

1st Are you staying on points. Are you staying as an Upgrade from CRO or Cash.

2nd on the 4th day you get Trash & towels ,They do a quick clean and replace your towels.

You can also pay for full Mousekeeping ,extra T & T ,or a set of 4 extra towels.

You can get them anyday of your stay or all of them ( 24hr notice ).

My only advise is have a Great time.

That depends, are you renting from CRO, if so yes you will have mousekeeping. Are you using points, then No at least not daily.

And yes you will be spoiled!!!

We are staying on points.

What is the cost for mousekeeping and extra towels? We are staying in a two bedroom villa, which sleeps eight. How many towels will they supply?

This should help and you should get 8 towels for your start

Transportation & Parking

We just returned from our first DVC vacation last Sunday. We also stayed at the BWV, a standard one bedroom....can I just tell you its been a week and we're still on a cloud, high from such a wonderful vacation. I do want to warn you...and I've been telling my wife this all week...once you experience how awesome it is to stay on property, especially at BW, you'll definitely have a hard time staying anywhere else! Get ready for a great time. We got hit by tropical storm Alberto on our first 3 days there and we still had a blast!

Thank you!

I had forgotten that there is a washing machine in the DVC, so the towels are a non issue. Just throw a load in!

If I need extra pillows or t.p. should I expect to pay for this? OR will mousekeeping deliver what we need? My DH is going to really find it amusing if he sees me packing t.p. He already thinks I overpack as it is! :)

Here is a list of what you should find in the unit. If you need any paper supplies, housekeeping will provide them free. There are 3 or 4 pillows on the king bed, and 3 on each queen bed. The pillows for the sleepers are in the closets, 2 for each bed. You can get extra pillows, by calling housekeeping. No charge.

You will need coffee, filters (Mr. Coffee type) shampoo, extra sugar/sweetners, bath soaps, laundry detergent and softner. You get 1 single load box Tide, more can be purchased. There are hair dryers in each bath room. Extra TP and paper towels are provided. Extra trash liners are in the bottom of the container, just pull out the full bag and 're-load'.

Get ready to have a GREAT trip!!!

What a great post...thanks for al this info! I'm wondering if I can expect the above in the studio? I know there are fewer amenities b/c there is not a full kitchen...but just interested in the above...any idea? thanks so much! :goodvibes

I actually like NOT having Mousekeeping come into our room every day. I don't feel the need to straighten up before leaving so early for the parks. It feels more like a home when you don't have to worry about a stranger coming in when you're gone. (That started to sound like I'm saying I feel more at home in a mess! :rotfl: )

Have fun!!

I did request trash & towel for each day on our last trip & it was well worth the $10 + tip. She even made the beds & loaded the dishwasher!

We feel the same way about not having someone coming into the unit each day. Pulling the sheets and spread into place takes less than a minute or two and there are trash rooms so that if you want to get rid of the trash you accumulate before the official T&T day you can do that. We usually take the trash out each day when we leave for the parks. We also set the washer going and then put the stuff in the dryer when we return. The dishes we just put in the dishwasher and let them wash while we do something else also. Somehow all this seems much easier at WDW than it does at home :confused3

We just got back from a stay at BWV. Yes, you will not want to go back to a regular hotel room--ever. We loved being able to walk to both Epcot and MGM. Have a great time!

Ohhhhhh! I am so excited about this trip!

Thank you for all of the helpful reponses! :sunny:

We are renting points for BCV studio for the first time ever in Sept. I was wondering about the laundry rooms? I know the other units have washers and dryers but are there convenient facilites for the studios nearby? And are they coin operated? Also, are there irons/ironing boards in the studios?

Thanks

don't remember where the laundry room is for BCV but although they look like they take coins they are actually free- just push the coin holder in. They sell one load boxes of laundry detergent etc for $1 or you can bring your own from home. I always pack a few dryer sheets in a plastic bag as well. There may be one of the laundry rooms by the quiet pool and another inside the villas but we had a 2 BR so am not certain. We had an ironing board and iron in the studios at the other DVCs so would assume you will have one also. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the info because I am sure I will be logging some time in the laundry room. :thumbsup2

Mich Mouse you will have a great time.

Did you rent points or buy dvc?

If you bought, what is your home resort?

Enjoy your vacation.

These points are a gift from a client of my DH....Nice perks in his business.

We really should have bought many years ago since we have averaged two trips a year to WDW for the last seven years.

This could be the year we finally buy. But Is there availibility anywhere except SSR?
