Our First DVC trip - Aulani questions!

Hi All!

We've been members since October 2010 - and this thursday we are leaving for our first DVC stay. We're heading to Aulani!!!!

We are staying in a 1BR - there are 3 of us staying in the room.

So my questions What extras should I take? We are planning on eating a bit in the room, and we have a 6yr DD so we'll be spending time in the room.

Also anything extra I should know about?

We're getting in pretty late, we land at 8:30pm Hawaii time, should I let the resort know?


HELP! I just don't want to miss anything.

We are making the same trip in March with 3 in our family as well.
Having been to Hawaii several times I encourage you to;
1st. take as much money as you can.
2nd. pack a 3rd less clothes than you think.
3rd. Rent a car and explore Oahu and get out of Waikiki to really experience Hawaii.
4th. Use the costco or wal-mart and eat breakfasts in the room, pack lunches for outings / exploration days, get drinks for enjoying all the time
The reviews I've read regarding the restaurants at Aulani have been very unfavorable and that it's even silly expensive for Disney, so we will be looking elsewhere.
And finally have fun and relax, remember you're on vacation.
