We land at MCO at 1 pm on Tuesday 9-30. Cartier Town Car is picking us up and giving us a 30 minute grocery stop (I want plenty of snacks since Jack is allergic to peanuts). Then we will check in to AsMu. Now here's my question- what would you do then? My dd thought we could go to Epcot and stay til close to see Illuminations. I want to pick the brains of all you Disney Veterans!

thats good if you have tickets for that day i the ark, I try not to get any for first day seems likea waiste, just do stuff outside parks and hit the parks the next mrning after a good sleep

long post

Wow- I'm honored to be the recipient of such a long post! We have ultimate park hoppers- so they are good for that day, and I want to squeeze EVERY moment I can out of them!;)

My kids would prefer to go to MK first. Have you made any PS's for that day? Maybe you can go to whichever park is where (or near where) you have a PS.

I can't believe your trip is next month, Lorelei.:) That means my trip is close too.:teeth:

I would pick which nighttime show I really wanted to see (the one that you think will best get you in the Disney spirit), and go to that park. My personal vote is for the Magic Kingdom fireworks (if they are showing that night)--really gets you in the Disney mood. :) If not, my very close runner up is Illuminations.

Personally, I like to save Magic Kingdom for my first full day. There is nothing like walking in there in the morning! Not a lot of people yet. You can get a good view of Main Street without tons of people packed in. Plus it just smells different in the morning. It's great! :)

I would probably choose Epcot and see Illuminations. :)

Have a great trip! I am jealous! ;) :D

This year, we went to Magic Kingdom first. It was pretty hot, but what I can remember, the lines weren't bad for us. We did Illuminations our last park day, and it was terrific. We didn't get a chance to do Animal Kingdom this year :( I got sick in Magic Kingdom from the heat, so my DM had to take me out. It cooled down the last two days though. Have a great trip, beat some of the ride lines :)

Fantasy in the Sky isn't showing that night...... I also thought we would save MK for the first full day........ I'll probably drop on my knees and start crying when I see the castle..... I can't wait! Thanks for all the input guys! We are there for 8 nights!!:Pinkbounc

MK for the first FULL day, as said a few times. Jenn Lynn says it well. Something magical about entering MK in the AM. :earsgirl:

I am assuming you have AP's if there for 8 nights. If so, no limits on what parks, how short or long. You might take a bus to the TTC, a monorail loop around Seven Seas Lagoon, just to get a 'neat fuzzy feel' of WDW, the monorail, the Poly, the GF, the magic of MK that awaits you in the AM of the next day, a cruise through the Grand Canyon Concourse of the Contemporary. (Yikes, I am getting homesick  :)). After that tour and your mind all bedazzled, switch monorails at the TTC and head to Epcot on the Epcot monorail. See if you can get to ride with the pilot and get a pilot's certificate. Now, at Epcot, enjoy the late afternoon, a bit cooler, and on into the evening, Illuminations, a slow stroll back to the buses and ASMu. Up, bright and early for the magic of the Magic Kingdom.

(UGH, I need to pack!!!!!!!!!! :bounce: ) Enjoy, Mermaid, you will forever remember your first visit to WDW!!!!!

Dan's plan sounds like a wonderful one!

Seeing the castle in the morning just as everyone is arriving is a special site!

Hope you have an absolutely magical time!!!!

I haven't been in 2 years, I kinda miss it. I would save MK until your first full day. As so many have said, nothing like walking in on Early Entry and walking down Main Street and seeing that castle for the first time. It's also the BEST time to take that famous picture with Walt and Mickey in front of the castle as the park is so empty. Go to EPCOT that night and enjoy Illuminations...what a great way to start your vacation at Disney!! :teeth:
